  1. Goal scoring attackers are also "must buy." We don't have nearly as many goals in our team as City or Liverpool who each have 3-4 players who will score double digit goals in the PL. Even Arsenal have lots of firepower. We 100% need someone else in those front 3 positions.
  2. Hmm. Live in one brilliant city (Monaco) but play in a shit league where you have no chance of winning and only in front of a crowd of a few thousand. Or live in another brilliant city (London) but in the best league where he can potentially be a part of something special. I'm biased obviously, but a choice between Monaco and Chelsea should be extremely easy.
  3. We aren't signing any attacking players. Wow. I'm sure Hazard will be delighted to stay.
  4. It appears as though our board think that by signing Jorginho and implementing Sarriball we don't actually need to sign any attacking players. That the ones we have just stagnated under Conte and will suddenly become world class under an attacking coach. It's now looking more and more likely that we will enter the season with Hazard/CHO for LW, Morata/Giroud up top, and Willian/Pedro at RW. I simply do not think that's enough to fire us into the top 4, nevermind mount any kind of title challenge. Not enough goals, not enough consistency.
  5. I know. But if not Higuain, who? No other top strikers out there that are available.
  6. I wouldn't be devastated if we miss out on Higuain because he's an amazing player but rather the fact that we'd have the same misfiring strike force as last season.
  7. We may literally go into the season with only one new face in our best XI at this rate.
  8. We MUST try to use him to get Martial now. Mourinho would love to get rid of a "sulking kid" to bring in one of his favorite players. We get an ultra talented player who actually fucking scores goals when given games.
  9. Barca trying to hijack Roma's move for Malcolm at the last minute. That would mean the end of their pursuit of Willian, then. We're going to have another season with the same attack. Assuming we keep Hazard, that is. Even with him we have so few goals in our side.
  10. Pretty tough set of opponents for this preseason. Which is probably good for preparation under a new manager. Sure hope we have another signing or two in before we play the Gooners. Preseason or not I wanna smack em. 😂
  11. Why is this friendly in France, btw? New stadium opening or something?
  12. But where will he play is still my question. In place of whom? Paying £45m for a rotation option in an area of the squad we're actually well stocked in is madness. Weak opponent aside today, Luiz looked at home in this system as did Ampadu. So what happens to them if a Rugani comes in?
  13. Barca always have a thing for flashy Brazilians. If he was a different nationality I don't think they'd look at him. They saw him playing alongside Coutinho at the WC and want it at their club.
  14. It's like our club thinks Willian is wayyyy better than he actually is. As I've said before, Willian has been one of my favorite Chelsea players since he joined but this is silly money to turn down for him. Doesn't score much, doesn't assist much, isn't a match winner. His production can be easily replaced and by someone with a much higher ceiling who is much younger. It's like the board thinks Willian is a world class player.
  15. It would be super fucking lame if we go yet another season with Willian as one of our main attacking players. Playing a dangerous game here by not accepting £55m + for him. Risk them walking away and we're left with an unhappy player.
  16. Agree with people about Pedro. Whereas Willian always slows down the ball and in typical Brazilian fashion tries lots of tricks, Pedro is much more direct and likes making runs in behind. He could thrive in a Sarri team. Not as a starter every match obviously, but these tactics should get the best out of him.
  17. You say that now, but I can't imagine going up against elite opposition without him. Regaining possession, giving the ball to Jorginho or Cesc, and covering for our defenders. He will still be invaluable. In fact, I think he will look even better than he did. He won't be asked to pick out passes as often and can stick to his strong points now we have a pass master in Jorginho.
  18. What's the alternative? 🤔 Dropping our best player?
  19. Morata's body language is just poor. He really looks like he's not bothered. I fear for our top 4 chances if he and Giroud are our only two options at striker again. Batshuayi isn't the answer either.
  20. People questioning where Kante fits. I think he'll slot in where Cesc is now (to the right of Jorginho) while Cesc moves into the advanced position Barkley is in now.
  21. Guys, holy shit. I know the opposition is very poor, but Jorginho looks phenomenal here. Absolutely bossing the midfield. You see an immediet link between he and Cesc who are pinging it around with one touch over and over. Barkley looked great bursting forward. CHO is a baller. Pedro looked like his Barca self. Morata looked like last season's Morata in that he was decent until the final decisive touch.
  22. Good to see Sarri won't be fucking about wasting time trying to continue with the 3-4-3. Going with his 4-3-3 straight away. Not that it was unexpected but it's comforting to see.
  23. Indeed. I really thought that Sarri + Jorginho would get things moving quite quickly in terms of in's and outs. Hazard situation still up in the air, likewise Courtois. Average players like Drinkwater and Zappacosta are somehow still Chelsea players when we all know they aren't good enough. We have no clue what's happening with RLC. Looking more and more likely that the Chelsea tradition of scrambling at the last minute may continue.
  24. Maybe his mother's brother's dog is next.
