I hope Conte kills it at Inter and revives them. Serie A has been lame as hell for years now with Juve owning the league. Be nice to see a genuine title race. If only Milan could also get their act together. Anyway, I see Arsemay lose out on that French league defender they've been after for months to fucking Spuds of all teams. They may legitimately have a worse transfer window than us and we can't even sign anyone. They better hurry up and improve the squad or their fans will be toxic within the first month of the new season.

If someone told me Bohemians and St. Patrick's Athletic were made up videogame team names I'd believe them. Literally never heard of these clubs before. 😂
-
Eden always shows up pudgy and then quickly gets into shape. Have a feeling that when he retires from football he's not going to be one of those dudes that stays in great shape. He gains weight super easily it seems.
-
Have squad numbers been officially assigned/claimed yet? Some pretty good ones available (9,10). I mean, we play tomorrow so I would assume so? Figured the club would've made a big deal about them if so. Especially the potential "passing of the torch" of Hazard's #10 to CHO.
-
Player whose situation i'm most interested in? Mason Mount. Lot of competition in those midfield spots now. Can he beat out Barkley and Kova (and eventually RLC) for that 3rd spot? Wonder where Lamps sees him in the pecking order. Think he's proven that he's too good to rot on the bench like previous managers would've done. At the same time it would be a shame to loan him out again.
-
With players like Pulisic, Pedro, Kante, Kova, Barkley, CHO, and RLC we certainly have the tools in certain areas to press high, be aggressive, and take it to the opposition. Unfortunately, in some key areas we have players who would struggle. Giroud for example is ultra slow and cumbersome. The fullbacks could also be a problem if Alonso is drafted back into the first choice XI and Azpi struggles going forward. Our striker situation in particular I feel is going to really hamper us. Giroud is an excellent rotation option as he proved last season. But to likely have him as our main man? Yikes. Bats is just too clumsy and inconsistent for the top level.
-
I just really want to see who excels in preseason enough to start match day 1 against United. Would be pretty lame and honestly kinda anticlimactic if we line up at Old Toilet with Azpi & Alonso at fullback, Pedro & Willian as the wingers, and Giroud up top. I wanna see Pulisic straight in the team, Emerson as the first choice straight away, maybe Mount straight in to see if he can cut it at this level. I want excitement and risk from the get-go. Playing the exact side Sarri did minus Hazard would be awful.

Yeah, makes sense to take a good look at Michy and Bakayoko. Don't see a place for DD. Guess maybe you could slot him into Jorginho's position for cup matches or something but even then we have Kova who can do that. Drinkwater will remain the strangest signing we've ever made. Just sort of disappeared into a black hole after coming here. The very definition of a club signing rather than a manager signing.
-
Gonna be strange for the players to go from a pot bellied chain smoker to a guy who is still almost in his playing shape. Frank looks like he himself is preparing to train for a PL season there! 😄
-
Did the club give Piazon a lifetime contract?! Feels like he's been on our books for about 15 years! 😂 Also surprised to see Lewis Baker still on our books. Thought he left ages ago. Must be so awkward training with Chelsea every summer knowing you have zero chance of making the squad.
-
How he sets up the midfield will make or break our season. Don't think he'll have Kante in that more advanced position Sarri had him in. Which means Jorginho's place is up in the air.
-
Very impressive first presser as expected. Nice change to have a manager who you can understand clearly and who can get his point across easily. He also all but confirmed that the transfer ban will be in place this summer so I guess any slim hope we had of being granted the stay are gone. Wish someone there would've asked him directly what the status of it all is.
-
Guess we should expect both RLC and CHO to be pictured on each shoulder tomorrow during Frank's unveiling. Wish they weren't both out for ages so we could look forward to seeing them straight away.
-
Tomorrow morning I'll wake up and see: Frank Lampard to be announced within 48 hours
-
We've heard "imminent" and "within 48 hours" for about 2 weeks.
-
Two big 6 rivals buying £60m+ midfielders in back to back days. Next season is going to be unbelievably tough near the top of the table.
-
Personally don't think hes even good enou for RM. and he's no better than the attacking mids they have on their books. I think Spuds are Eriksen's level. Very good but not great.
-
From what I've been reading on Twitter I thought Eriksen leaving was off the table now? Neither of the big 2 in Spain fancy him enough and have bought/will buy bigger names. I think he's stuck at Spuds.
-
Never thought I'd see the day where little, penny pinching Spuds would make one of the most expensive transfers in PL history. If this is just the start of their business this summer they'll finally be a serious title threat. Imagine being and Arsenal fan right now, though. Hearing you have a total summer budget of £45m and seeing Spuds (fucking Spuds of all clubs) spending more than your entire budget on a single player. 😂😂😂 I mean really, what's going on at Arsenal? They worked for a decade essentially to move stadiums in order to compete financially. Spuds do the same thing and yet they can now go out and spend 60m on a single player while Arse claim to be broke. Gotta love it!
-
Arse fans have been screaming in desperation for a wide player for ages, I think. Whenever I watch ArseFanTV they're always saying it. But yeah, attacking is the least of their problems. Anyways, I find what Juventus have done kinda strange. They already had a very solid midfield and have now brought in both Ramsey and Rabiot, two players who fill essentially the exact same role. Be interesting to see how they keep all of them happy.
-
Insulting, laughable offer from Arse. If I were Palace I would take that as a huge sign of disrespect and refuse to ever do business with them for unsettling him. But, if Arse do manage to somehow get Zaha I'd be gutted. I've wanted him here for a while. Would hate seeing one of my favorite non-Chelsea players go to that disgusting club.
-
I think everything is done in regards to Frank himself. Just everything else that's being sorted. I bet the announcement will be Monday.
-
I wouldn't mind giving Baka another chance to become a rotational option. Look at Sissoko for Spuds. Everyone laughed at him and thought he was a clown. He was labelled a massive bust of a signing by Spuds. Remember when Eric Dier was the next hot thing for both Spuds and England? Sissoko came in for the injured Dier if I recall correctly, was given massive incidence, and is now one of the first names on their team sheet. Dier was nearly irrelevant for them last season. Maybe if Baka feels the "love," gains confidence, and plays alongside players to mask his deficiencies he can be a valuable member of the squad. When we need a super physical team for a particular opponent a midfield 3 containing him may prove useful, who knows.
-
Would seem strange with Lamps coming in to retain Kova. You would think he'd want to integrate Mount but maybe he'll go on loan again? When RLC returns we'll have he, Barkley, and Kova all gunning for that AM spot. Where would Mount find playing time? I would've preferred we just let Kovacic go and use Mount as a direct replacement. He couldn't be worse in terms of output and the manager would know his game inside and out.
-
Very talented young player, though. Love him in our side if we didn't have Reece coming in. Both United and Spuds on the verge of making very good signings. Ndombele and Wan-Bissaka. That Spuds midfield 3 is going to be insane. Super athleticism and extremely dynamic.
