Is Alaba still the player he was a few years ago when he was considered world class? Honest question because I haven't heard much about him in a while. Seems like all of that Bayern team have kind of fallen off a cliff in terms of hype and the whole world talking about them. I haven't heard about Neuer, Müller, or Alaba in ages and all 3 were considered the very best a few years back.

What's most annoying is that they aren't surging up the table by playing magical football and blowing everyone away. At least then you could say "fair play, Mourinho has really got them firing." But no, they're conceding goals left, right, and center. They look awful most of their games and their attacking play has looked like classic Mou from his Man United days where it looks like they don't even practice attacking moves. Their midfield has been dire at times and they seemingly never have settled fullbacks. Yet due to our extreme inconsistency they're a hairs width behind us.
-
Just imagine if Spuds finish above us. How unbearable that would be. Missing their talisman striker for half the season. Literally no recognized striker left on their roster. They were at one point 11(?) points behind us. A team in such turmoil that they sacked their manager, ffs. Goddamn, that would be embarrassing.
-
Spuds have been utterly woeful even after Mou took over but somehow keep scraping wins. Now right on us. Unbelievable.
-
Does it not seem weird for him to go to Liverpool with Firmino already there? I mean, from their perspective it would be awesome to have that kind of depth, but from his perspective it seems dumb to move to a club where you aren't playing every game. The striker market is going to be pretty damn barren this summer if he indeed does go to Liverpool. There might end up being a whole line of clubs going after Dembele because he'll be one of the only decent options available.
-
I would sacrifice my balls to see De Bruyne back at Chelsea. 😂 If their appeals fail I would bid £100m for him without hesitation. Honestly, though, I can't see anyone but maybe Aguero leaving since he's getting older and will only have a couple more chances in the CL.
-
Would be absolutely incredible if this holds for long enough that the 5th place team gets in instead of them. That would be extremely good for us. But I bet you anything that somehow, someway City will appeal this down to nothing but a hefty monetary fine.
-
Sancho is not happening, guys. Ziyech is our main signing out wide. The priority now will surely be a striker. If Kepa doesn't shape up and return to top form then I think a new keeper is certain. My ideal summer now would be Onana, Chilwell, and Werner. None of those seem unrealistic but Chilwell and Werner will have a long queue for their services. I actually don't think we'll be after a CB at all since Frank seems to genuinely rate all 4 we have now.
-
I see ScoutNation just posted a nice long montage of him. His left foot truly is outrageous. And the great thing about him being left footed is that he can easily be switched to the opposite flank at any time if the opponent requires it. Reece James + Ziyech on one side and (hopefully) Chilwell + Pulisic/CHO on the other. Oh my! Those overlaps would be quite possibly best in Europe.
-
Wonder what's going on in Pedro and maybe Willian's heads right now seeing this signing. They both likely already know they're off. Hopefully Willian doesn't coast for the rest of the season. Probably finally go to Barca on a free.
-
That is utter madness. He would cost £80m if he played for a PL club.
-
Ajax seem like a unique club that doesn't seem to mind their players negotiating during the middle of the season. I'm not sure we'll see anything else bubble into the public eye like this did.
-
Sensational on the ball, absolute wand of a left foot, great work rate, extremely creative in the final third. Isn't a youngster who will need months or more to settle and has played in massive games in the CL. All for £40m. This is a summer where we may see the likes of Maddison, Grealish, Chilwell etc go for at least twice that much. This is a steal. Lets us go big on other areas, too, which we likely couldn't if we spent £120m on Sancho.
-
Look at how Ziyech performed in the CL recently. Played excellently against big, big teams. Calling him too lightweight is nonsense. Mahrez looks like a 13 year old boy and is extremely effective in this league. Ziyech is bigger and more althetic than him.
-
Still think Sancho could still come down to CL football. Will he go to United without it?
-
Spot on. That's exactly who he reminds me of. As others have suggested, this surely means that Sancho is simply too rich for our blood. He's going to Man United. That's a big shame but Ziyech is a fantastic player who I'd be happy with.
-
Who exactly is going to take Kepa, first of all, when we know there's no way our board is going to take a mega loss on that 72m we paid for him? Surely they won't just say 'fuck it' and just flog him for 30m. I'm still convinced he'll remain our long term keeper. He'll be back in the net after this break.
-
At least we know weeks ahead of time how both United and Spuds play. We have plenty of time to train on playing against counter attacking teams with fast wide players who will sit deep and spring whenever possible. Perfect time to reinstall Tomori back to the team in place of AC. And also hope Pulisic is back fit.
-
If we conspire to allow this awful Spuds team with no Harry Kane (or ANY natural striker!) for the rest of the season finish above us then everyone deserves the sack.
-
What a fucking idiot. City morph into Chelsea in front of goal in a game we need them to win. Now this dire Spuds side will pull within sniffing distance to us.
-
City are going to fucking bottle this, aren't they? They need to calm down.
-
Burnley (who we recently beat comfortably) are absolutely dominating Arsenal here (who we couldn't beat when they had 10 men and we were at home). How in the fuck did we let that happen, man. Arse are woeful.
-
Now we need City to batter Spuds tomorrow. Then if we get Pulisic back fully fit after the break we can attack this tough run with our complete Arsenal of players.
-
Hope I don't jinx it, but this match has 90th minute Bruno Fernandes penalty written all over it. Wolves dangerous but missing the final pass while United not troubling Wolves too much at all. So I'm sure Martial will dive for a soft pen and give them the 3 points.
-
Wolves are absolutely class. So many good players.
