I'm sure agents Rüdiger and Timo are in his ear.

Lot of oppo fans are jealous of this signing but a lot suddenly don't rate him as highly now that he's joined Chelsea. Man United fans in particular have been insufferable since Bruno Fernandes joined them and they went on this long run of good results (while still playing horrifically boring football). Now suddenly they've got a "much better" squad than us and Rashford, Martial, McTominay, and Fred are world beaters. Literally ALL players their fans were moaning about and wanting to sell before January. They all wanted Olé sacked, now they're a player (Sancho) away from taking Europe by storm!

If FFP is kaput for the summer then maybe we should prioritize a dominant, commanding CB rather than Chilwell and just opt for Tagliafico at LB. Who that dominant, commanding CB is I'm not sure. Koulibaly is the obvious player that comes to mind but he doesn't fit the age profile that our board and Frank have been targeting. Struggling to think of any CB that is attainable who can come in and have a VVD-like effect on our team.

Both Ajax and Leipzig have been classy as hell. Both seem genuinely proud when they see their players move on to a bigger club. Almost like seeing their kids graduate from school or something. But wow. Two players of the highest quality before even assuring CL qualification. Before the window is even open! That's madness.

One of Europe's best playmakers (Ziyech) for peanuts and now one of Europe's best strikers (Wener) for peanuts as well. Strong 2014 vibes here!
-
Can't blame him but yeah, that's unfortunate for us. If Willian does the same it'll really be a blow. Especially if Willian does so and then joins one of our rivals.

Wonder what today's Timo Werner update will be. Today: he just has to brush his teeth and floss then he'll be on his way Tomorrow: he just has to tie his shoes then he'll be on his way Firday: he just has to walk his dog really quick then he'll be on his way FFS, just announce it already so we can enjoy the PL being back.

This is some "my uncle works at Nintendo" shit. 😂

Unless Leverkusen agree to take payment in installments over a couple of years I can't imagine Bayern or Liverpool buying him. If Liverpool couldn't buy Werner for 50m after Klopp really wanted him and chased him for months, how could they suddenly afford to pay twice that for another player? As mentioned, United are hard after Sancho. Surely no way they can afford both he and Havertz unless again Leverkusen or Dortmund agree to take the transfer fee in installments spread out over a longer period of time.

Christ, this is tiresome.

Benrahma looks insane in that video but it seems weird that we'd be after another super skillful winger like him when Boga could've just been brought back. Also, it's pretty weird how we haven't been linked at all with a single CB that I'm aware of.
-
Oh god. Can you imagine United pipping us to a CL spot at the last minute and him deciding to go there instead? Yikes. Thankfully, it seems as though Lampard's talks are what sealed it rather than us being in the CL.

I think of all the reasons we've been given for the delay, the one I believe is that we're waiting until the Bundesliga season is done before announcing it. I find it ridiculous to believe that the hold up is simply the medical. Signings have been announced before that were then subject to medical later. I think we'd have announced it by now if that's all that it was. I think we just don't want to create a distraction and an annoyance to Leipzig when they still have a few matches left. If this deal doesn't happen and he suddenly goes elsewhere after all this then a hell of a lot of extremely reputable journo's will have trashed their names. The intricacies of the deal have been laid out in such detail, though, that I'm not worried. Yet.

I think we'd go back to the 4-2-3-1 of past Chelsea sides if Havertz comes in. -----------------------Tammy------------------ Werner-------------Havertz---------------Ziyech --------------Kovacic--------Kante------------ LB--------Tomori-----------Rudiger----------James ------------------------Kepa------------------------ That is one HELL of a first XI with the likes of Pulisic, CHO, Jorginho, Billy, Mount, RLC etc to rotate in at any given time. That's a squad that's good enough to at least challenge Liverpool and City. Especially with Kante back in his natural position destroying everyone.
-
We could be switching to a 2 man midfield next season, who knows?
-
Kante is the only player we have who I would genuinely feel awful about selling. Hope we aren't even considering it. I love the little guy! 😭
-
So wait. Frank and Cech traveled to Germany to convince him to join and that's fine but our team doctors can't travel to Germany to complete a medical?
-
The whole concept of needing a medical for player who is currently fit and playing games has always been funny to me. I'm sure every Bundesliga player was given a medical just a couple of weeks ago when they returned from the virus layoff.
-
Kurzawa is awful. Wouldn't take him even on a free. And it looks like we're still weeks away from a Werner announcement. 😒 Don't know why we can't do what other clubs have done and announce a fee and personal terms are agreed and just say the transfer is "now subject to passing a medical." Now there's plenty of time for some other club to turn his head...😩
-
I definitely think Toni is communicating with him and encouraging him to come here. Maybe even Werner nudging him our way so they come in together. That may give us an advantage over any other English club that are after him. Plus, we've seen how big of a draw Lampard is for these younger players. Havertz has a hell of a lot of Lampard about his game so I'd imagine Frank will have a pretty convincing presentation that could also be a big advantage for us. Bayern don't ever splash mega money, do they? Are they really prepared to spend £70-100m? He also doesn't really strike me as the ready made superstar that Real Madrid like either.
-
So basically we are with Havertz where we are with any top player. Just one of a dozen big clubs who are interested. Doesn't seem we're actively negotiating or anything yet. People on Twitter yesterday were going bananas as if he was on the verge of signing.
-
Havertz and Sancho are completely different players so I'm not sure why these journalists keep linking the two together. There's no chance we are even still thinking about Sancho anymore with Ziyech and Werner coming. Makes no sense.
-
Think we also have to keep in mind that the only reason we're hearing about Wener now is because of his release clause situation. If we are indeed after Havertz I doubt we'll hear anything substantial for weeks and weeks from now after the season ends. Pretty easy to forget that there's still plenty of football to be played before clubs go into full on transfer window mode. A lot of people are acting like a bunch of big transfers all over Europe are imminent. We won't see these mega money moves any time soon.
-
The meltdowns across the entire football world if we signed Havertz in addition to the players we already have coming in...
-
Unless Matt Law or Ornstein confirm it I'm not buying it.
