  1. Really nice looking XI full of quality attackers. Only real concern is that there's not likely to be much chemistry between a lot of them yet so this may look kinda sloppy. Absolutely no excuses here, though. Anything but all 3 points would be unacceptable.
  2. Tossing him on for a few minutes both times so far when our attacking ambition had gone out the window isn't a fair representation of what he can do. We need to start getting him big minutes from the start and if he's rusty take him off after an hour.
  3. An utterly horrendous 2nd half performance both tactically and as an attacking unit. But holy shit what a difference Mendy and Thiago Silva make. We look like an actual solid unit and have a commanding keeper! It's been ages since we could say that. Not at all happy with the performance but I'll take a point at Old Toilet any time. Really hope we start to see Ziyech getting starts ASAP. We need some more creativity and invention in our attack. I realize Frank is slowly integrating him, but we need him badly. Getting Ziyech and Kova in the team will make a huge difference I feel.
  4. Bit like the Sevilla game but with more of the ball here. Defense and midfield solid but attack isn't clicking. Feels like I say this every match week but we always look miles more dangerous when we play quickly and move the ball around. Pulisic and Havertz look good when getting the ball on the move and running at the defense. Reece and Chilly got into good positions a couple of times as well. But when we play slowly it just makes it easy for them to defend.
  5. Zero confidence now. No Kova again, our best midfielder. Jorginho and Kante against the best counter attacking team in the league... 😩😩😩
  6. At least I won't be too upset if we lose today since City are wobbling this season and no other big team looks great yet. None of the big boys look consistent at all.
  7. Seems people here forgot that he was awesome for much of last season at Leicester. Said it numerous times before we signed him that it was dumb to judge his form towards the end of last year when the entire team went to shit and collapsed. When fit and in form he's the 2nd best LB in the league. I hope we soon get to start seeing Pulisic on the left with Chilwell so we can get the best out of both of them. Doesn't look quite as dangerous with Mount over there because Mason isn't the type to go wide and run at defenders in the way CP is.
  8. We're still at the point with all these new attacking players where they're going to be very inconsistent. All of Kai, Werner, CP, etc have shown flashes of brilliance but we still aren't anywhere near a well oiled machine. I hope we see the front 4 of Werner, Havertz, CP, and Ziyech against United. And Kova absolutely has to start ahead of J5. United wide strip him on the counter. Very encouraged by that defensive performance, though. Chilwell and Reece in particular. No silly errors and didn't allow anything past them, really.
  9. Basically the opposite of our games this season. Looked mediocre going forward but excellent at the back. Silva and Mendy make a gigantic difference simply for the fact that there's no panic back there. Zouma is good for one or two howlers per match and he had a couple today. Luckily we weren't punished.
  10. Mount and Jorginho off for Kova and Ziyech at halftime, please. We desperately need players who can take hold of the game here. Mount has been awful and Jorginho is a serious red card risk. We need to make the ball stick when our attackers get it.
  11. Sevilla just look miles sharper than we do. Stroking it around with ease like prime Barca. We can't string a w passes together when we get it. Inexcusible. They look much better drilled and coached than we do.
  12. Jorginho is a complete and utter liability when pressed. Either gives it away or has to take a terrible foul.
  13. Fuck sake, we can't afford Thiago Silva getting injured this early in the season. Seeing more of AC will do my head in. Hope he's good.
  14. I give Frank a pass on not rushing Ziyech in. He's probably not ready for such a big game. CHO on the other hand must be fuming. Repeatedly left out as a natural winger for someone who isn't one. Only explanation is that Frank thinks CHO is too lazy defensively.
  15. LMAO 😂 I know Big Pete has kept himself in decent shape but I'm just imagining a dude with a big beer belly suiting up and running on to the pitch.
  16. Think this match will come down to whether we make the typical silly mistake or two. If we cut that out I like the look of our XI, Kova absence apart.
  17. Our best CM not in the XI for 2 games in a row now. Kova should be one of the first names on the team sheet ffs.
  18. Are we considered favorites for this one? I have no idea how Sevilla have played recently.
  19. I honestly didn't think Spuds would be anything to worry about this season. They were playing horrendous football under Mou and it didn't look like they were going to be able to spend at all. But brought in a bunch of players and the ones they had are now fit. With everyone looking inconsistent and dropping points Spuds have a legit chance to challenge. And they still have Bale to come in... Hate these cunts.
  20. And now done and dusted. 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼
  21. Son's signature move is cutting in from the left and shooting. That's literally what he's known for. So the WH player not only allows Son to easily get behind him initially but also rolls out the red carpet and kindly invites Son to his inside to score. FFS.
  22. Everything that worked brilliantly in the first half just stopped like a light switch was flipped. All because Southampton, a team with nowhere near our talent or ability, simply said to themselves "these guys will wilt if we up our intensity." We were slicing through them at will with Havertz, Pulisic, and Mount. Werner was terrorizing their CB's with runs in behind. Chillwell looked like a monster marauding down the left flank. And then we looked like a totally different team second half. Fitness was a huge part of that, yes, but Lampard was again out coached when it came to adjustments in tactics. When you combine an already young, inexperienced coach with the hyper condensed fixture list that severely limits time on the training pitch this is a recipe for disaster.
  23. It's the exact same embarrassing pattern as last season. Over and over and over again. We dominate an inferior opponent, let off the gas, and the opponent comes out of the half time team talk full of confidence to take the game to us. This is exactly what happened just a couple of weeks ago against Spuds. Dominate the first half and then they simply raise their intensity and we crumble completely. This HAS to be on Lampard. Happens all to frequently to be flukey. If he was ANY other person his job would be in jeopardy already. What is even more shocking is how Southapmton looked miles fitter than we did. We were dead on our feet for the last 20 minutes there.
  24. My word. My fucking word. From our most dominant attacking performance of the season to the worst defensive one I can recall.
  25. Havertz was nearly flawless other than the goal. Just still needs to slightly speed up his passing. Kept it just a fraction of a second too long and allowed himself to get dispossessed.
