  1. People need to remember that when Leicester were absolutely flying for much of the season Chilwell, like all of their players, was fantastic. Yes his level dropped off towards the end of the season but so did Maddison's, Soyuncu, everyone. They collapsed as a whole. So people should probably stop holding this last few months against him. The reported fee is ridiculous whether it's 65m or even higher, but seeing people shit on him and call him horrendous are idiots. He's a great talent who will only get better. He ain't a 28-29 year old finished product. Would I rather we sign Reguilon for a fraction of the price? Yes. But it's not like we'd be getting a shit player.
  2. I just can't see it. In the season after this coming one yes.
  3. And have the world's highest paid keeper on the bench? I think not.
  4. Simon Phillips and Kevin Palmer are both just regurgitators of info from other random people. They don't know shit themselves. Wish we would stop posting their tweets as if they're ITK sources. Anyways, I see Bournemouth have just accepted a bid of nearly £20m for their keeper Ramsdale from Sheff United. Surely that means Dean Henderson is off. And I highly doubt he's going to go back and rot on United's bench. Could that mean we've quietly put a bid in?
  5. Barca are in an absolute world of trouble, too. I think they have by far the highest wage bill in the world, nearly all of their mega money signings have failed, they can't spend big now due to the pandemic, their squad is filled with aging, past it players like Busquets, Pique, and Alba. And then ON TOP of all that they'll need a new manager AGAIN, plus Messi will be likely agitating for a move. They might just be in the worst position of any club in Europe. Chaos that would make Chelsea say yikes!
  6. Coutinho may not want to show his face in Barca again. There might be a price on his head after this! 😂😂😂 Especially after the camera repeatedly showed him cheering and clapping for the Bayern goals. Then he comes on and smacks them.
  7. Shit, at this point Messi may be tempted to finally leave. Let's bid for him! 😂
  8. Yeah, I think this will be City's best chance yet to win it. If they can pin Bayern back and impose themselves they can score easily against them. City are vulnerable too of course, but you'd fancy them to go toe to toe with them in attack. And PSG are shit bottlers so if they get through Bayern I think they win it all.
  9. This match gives me hope. Even the very best sides in world football are shocking defensively. If you have enough attacking firepower you can win everything. You just need to be able to defend at key moments. If Barca were sharp early in this one they could've scored 3 with simple play. Bayern are probably the best side in Europe and we're lucky not to concede 3 in the first half hour or so.
  10. True. So long as Havertz comes in and we aren't paying 70 or 80m here then fine. Chilwell could well settle our LB position for 5+ years. But if we've given up on Kai and spunk the bulk our cash on Chilwell instead.....yikes!
  11. If a Chilwell deal fucks with the Havertz deal I'm finding the nearest sturdy doorway arch and getting the noose ready. 😅
  12. We've made some truly shocking buys in recent years. Bakayoko at least showed loads of promise and potential at Monaco and looked like the perfect player at the time to come in and partner Kante. Zappa was a last minute panic buy. The one that's most mystifying for me is DD. What on earth was our board thinking buying him and for £30+m at that... Then there was that set of 3 CB's (Hector, Djilobodji, Miazga) that were CLEARLY several levels below Chelsea quality we bought. My God, have we been shocking since the Cesc/Costa window. This one we're in now is the first great one we could have since 2014.
  13. Nah, I'll agree with you on players 100% but there is absolutely racism when it comes to black managers. If there were 10-15 of them sprinkled around here and there I wouldn't say anything. But there are basically ZERO. For me that's not a coincidence.
  14. They act as though we were absolutely desperate and trying everything possible to keep Willian and that Chelsea fans are in meltdown that he's gone there. In reality, the club would've liked to keep him but weren't desperate. Otherwise they would've just given him everything he wanted. And our fans are just saying 'meh' about him going. Just a few weeks ago before the Arse move came into focus all the Arse fans that are now gloating were calling him shit, old, and a Chelsea reject.
  15. Will be solid but unspectacular for them next season. Just like he was here. He's not a De Buryne or Salah who we will watch for a rival every weekend and curse that we let him go. He'll play a blinder every once in a while and be average most of the time.
  16. The wait is getting excruciating.
  17. Very impressed with him here. Physically dominant and very good on the ball. His new contract included a relatively affordable release clause, right? We should be all over him next summer.
  18. Structure of the payments is most likely what's holding it up just like with Sancho and United. Both ourselves and United have probably offered a decent sized initial payment with the rest coming in future windows so we can afford other targets. Dortmund and Bayer are probably both playing hardball and wanting the whole fee upfront which is causing the deals to stall. What is in our favor compared to United is that Bayer could really use the cash and everything with the player agreeing to the move is already settled. Dortmund are in an extremely strong position negotiation wise while Bayer will never get a fee as high as we're offering again since Havertz will have only 1 year left on his contract this time next summer.
  19. If LB is such a huge priority then surely we can wait another year for Chilwell? Not sure my sanity can take another 6 months to a year of Alonso or Azpi at LB getting roasted repeatedly.
  20. As hilarious as this all is (and it really is 😂) this is probably gonna piss WH off. All of our lads are surely pushing him to join us.
  21. So much for "things will move rapidly after they're out of the EL." If personal terms have been agreed for weeks and we know the price they want roughly, I wonder what the hold up is?
  22. Jesus. If we manage to get an obligation to buy rather than just an option then Marina deserves a knighthood. Recouping just about the whole cost of buying him after the disaster he's been. Wow.
  23. I just think it'll be nice to no longer be jealous watching other teams having 3-4 attacking players of the highest quality who can produce magic consistently while we only have 1. No more give it to Hazard/Pulisic and pray for a miracle. We will have 4+ genuinely top class attacking players in our XI at any given time.
  24. I agree. Chilwell is surely impossible if we bag Kai and Rice. Honestly, I've fallen off the Chilwell bandwagon hard for the price quoted. If he was 35-40m I'd be all for it. But we can get someone at or above his level for half or lower than what LCFC are asking.
