We’re gonna see some movement on incomings this week. I can feel it. 🤗
-
Did we go to Dortmund looking for Haaland and settle for their training gear instead? Why is all of it black and yellow? 😂
-
Wonder when the first time we’ll hear from Tuchel is. Would be nice to get some reassurance that we actually are working on some deals. Of course he won’t give any specifics. The total silence from reporters and journalists is concerning now.

I wish we’d try for Griezmann since Haaland isn’t happening. Loan with option or obligation to buy next summer. Had a very solid season with Barca and has a skill set that I feel would mesh excellently with our other attackers. Not only a great finisher but can also create for others which would be very useful when teams park the bus against us. We’ve done the loan thing with several strikers before so it’s not silly to think we’d try. Of course his wages may be an issue as well as him being in love with living in Spain.

Lewa is literally in the perfect situation at Bayern. Gets to play in by far the best team in Germany surrounded by brilliant players who make everything easier for him on top of that. For someone who’s nearly 33 and in such an ideal situation, why would he want to come to the cauldron that is the PL? He strikes me as someone who will continue living the easy like at Bayern for a couple more years and then going to MLS to finish his career.
-
I guess the only reason he may take less this summer is if he feels like he wants to step up to a bigger club right away. Better league, better chances to compete for the biggest trophies, better players around him. We would obviously still be giving him a huge wage, just not astronomical, “fuck the entire club” wages like the two Spanish giants do.
-
If any of last seasons signings can feel like a new one it’s Ziyech. He was almost forgotten about. If he finds form it gives our attack a whole new dimension.
-
Why not? Mbappe on the left, Haaland up top.
-
Yeah, if we don’t get him this summer I think Real Madrid get Haaland and Mbappe next summer. Bayern if they don’t get him.
-
All the big PL clubs, Real + Barca, Bayern, Juve, and PSG will be gunning hard for Haaland next summer. Our chances fall through the floor if it’s an open competition because we won’t offer him 500-600k per week like PSG & RM will. Plus a fat bonus for his agent or whatever in the tens of millions. It’s absolutely now or never for us. Just like if we waited for Kai and passed up the opportunity last summer he’d probably be at Bayern right now. You have essentially a free run at him right now and we must take it. Simple as that.
-
Desperately seek a loan from somewhere I guess.
-
I agree. But do our club see it that way?
-
Can we count on Leicester totally collapsing for a 3rd straight season to allow us to sneak into the top 4 on the last match week?
-
Don’t panic buy Lukaku at the last minute, please. If Haaland is the guy we truly want just wait and hope for next summer. I know I’ve said repeatedly that we absolutely need a striker this summer but I’d rather we explore the loan market than spend over 100m on our second or third choice like Lukaku seems to be (after Haaland & Kane).

I’ve never heard of the other two they’re signing, but I rate Ben White. They’re WAY overpaying for him but he’s much better than the clowns they’ve been playing at CB for the past few years. As for United, their squad is indeed looking scary good. If they can get Varane and Trippier over the line they’ll have a team capable of winning the league. If Olé is up to the task, that is, which is a huge question mark. Rashford—————————Cavani—————————-Sancho ————————————-Penandes————————————— ————————-Pogba——————McTominay————————- Shaw—————Maguire—————-Varane————-—-Trippier ————————————Henderson————————————— Tbf, that’s an extremely balanced and quality side which, like ourselves, would have excellent pace and creativity from wide areas as well as a super solid middle of the park. Only potential weakness they’ll have left on the pitch is that McTominay/Fred spot. Both of them are shit.
-
Barca are seemingly desperate to offload Griezmann. I’d 100% take a punt on him even if it’s just a loan with buy option like we did with Higuain.
-
I commend your guys’ optimism but I still think we’d be living very dangerously if we don’t invest in a forward of some sort. What happens if Kai or Timo get a lengthy injury? Without Giroud we’re now very thin up top and I don’t particularly care to see more false 9 or Tammy wandering around like he just learned to walk yesterday.
-
Unless people are mighty confident that Werner will score 20 in the league and Kai 10-15, I don’t understand how anyone can predict us to significantly improve our league position with the squad as is. Will they (and Pulisic, and Ziyech, and Mount) improve? Yes. Enough to make up 20 points on City? Not in my opinion.
-
Not for me. It would say that we stood still while those around us all improved. City were already much better than us in the league and will spend massively. United have spent £80m and will spend much more. Leicester were neck and neck with us and have added 3 good players thus far I think. Liverpool will have all their best players back fit and bought a highly rated CB. They finished above us despite having a season from hell. Even Arse are on the verge of making their 2nd and 3rd signings whilst we don’t appear to be close to making even 1. Despite them being hilariously shit last season they finished only 6 points behind us. They should improve considerably. Even with TT’s brilliance I think the squad we currently have is capable of 3rd or 4th AT BEST. I just don’t think we have the goal scoring firepower to compete over a 38 match season.
-
Sign Haaland and I think we win the league. Sign no top striker and I think we finish 5th or 6th. Impossible to answer the poll question until we see what (if any) business we do.
-
Koundé isn’t 5’5”, ffs. He’s not Kante sized like @Vesper is making him out to be. Yes he shorter than you’d want a top class CB to be but I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker. Again, not saying I want to sign him but if we did I wouldn’t be complaining because of his height. Also, despite his lack of height he’s built like an absolute tank. I think he’d be just fine in the PL.
-
Never said I wanted us to sign him. Just that height isn’t much of a hindrance in my opinion. Koundé is very good on the ball and is extremely quick and athletic. May he be vulnerable on corners? Probably. But his other qualities make up for that shortcoming. Plus, we have plenty of tall players who are good in the air and a giant of a keeper.
-
Thiago Silva isn’t tall either and he’s had a stellar career. You don’t have to be a 6’5” monster to be a great CB.
-
We’re going to pull an Arsenal this summer. Returning loanees and players who couldn’t get a look in last season will “be like new signings.” 🙃🙃🙃
