  1. Thankfully we don’t really need him to do anything outside of his strengths. Put away the chances we create, stretch defenses by running in behind, hold the ball up and bring others into play like he did well at Inter. Simple as that. Unlike his time at United or Everton we have loads of players who can handle the creativity and buildup. Tuchel won’t be asking him to be Messi or Harry Kane or one of these strikers who drops deep and becomes a playmaker spraying the ball around. The club and TT clearly wanted a classic #9 and that’s what Rom is. Let’s hope it pays off.
  2. I would absolutely love Locatelli. Unreal on the ball and also puts in a good shift defensively. Young and pretty inexpensive as well. Juve have been stalling on him all summer. Bet if we went for it we’d get him.
  3. Lukaku + Koundé + a midfielder and we’ll have had two exceptional summer windows in a row. With just Lukaku and Koundé I’ll feel pretty confident in a serious title push but still think we’d be living dangerously without another midfield body if Kante got injured again which happens more frequently these days.
  4. Wonder if he takes over as our primary penalty taker from Jorginho. You always want to see your main striker step up and put them away since it feeds their confidence. He did so for Inter so I’m sure he’ll put himself forward.
  5. Even better. Preferably Real Madrid because they’re the kings at publicly tapping up and turning players’ heads.
  6. Glad it’s done. As for Haaland, I really hope City now fail in their pursuit of Kane and go for Haaland next summer. It’s gotten to the point where I hope to see him anywhere but Man United and their arrogant, asshole supporters. Even if it makes our title aspirations harder.
  7. I hear Sir Jordan Pickford was back to his brilliant self today. 😂😂😂
  8. Honestly, I don’t think he cares much about any football related goals anymore. He’s won everything already multiple times. I think it’s all about lifestyle happiness at this point in his career. Playing with his mates and taking it easy most match weeks.
  9. Yes, of course I’m glad he’s not popping up at City. But just as a fan of football in general him going to PSG seems kind of beneath him.
  10. I mean, they clearly don’t care about FFP since it’s effectively dead now so they can probably offer him €1m per week like Messi and Neymar without issue. Would’ve been nice to see him go to a competitive league like England. Watching PSG kill everyone 6-0 each week sure isn’t going to be exciting.
  11. What a soulless, boring transfer.
  12. If they want Zappa can we also toss in someone else as a free bonus?
  13. Messi will apparently be on €40m per year (or well over 700k per week I’ve seen) at PSG. After taxes. Surely Neymar is earning a mega wage near that as well. All their other superstars are probably on gargantuan wages. Can they afford to give a 3rd superstar like Mbappe wages like Messi and Neymar? I know FFP is a joke now, but something has to stop them at that point, right?
  14. Tuchel got along well with Mbappe, didn’t he?😅
  15. Does anyone really care about PSG outside of France and Brazil with the Neymar connection? Football has grown massively here in America and yet PSG feel totally irrelevant here. It’s all about the PL clubs.
  16. The team that signs Messi (PSG) will likely be giving him a mega signing-on fee. And of course since it’s PSG whatever massive signing-on fee is reported won’t be anywhere near what he’s actually receiving under the table via shady, illegal deals. He’ll probably get a nice £100m deposit in a secret Swiss bank account from the Qatar royal family. Another reason why we won’t even be a consideration. Even a multimillionaire like Roman can’t compete with the limitless cash of the arabs.
  17. If Roman got his wish years ago and Pep was currently Chelsea manger I think Messi would probably be on his way. But no chance here. He wants to play with his mates in Paris before retiring to Inter Miami in a couple of years.
  18. Other than very loose links with Tchaomeni months ago, have we actually been linked with any midfielders? Of course Rice had been talked about forever but that’s never, ever happening this summer. Feels like we’d have heard whispers simmering for a while now if we actually were after someone like we have with Koundé and Lukaku. I think the plan from the club is to not sign a midfielder and hope Billy kills it at Norwich so he’s ready to slot in next summer.
  19. Nice. Now hopefully Koundé follows quickly afterwards. Having both in for match week 1 would be great.
  20. I bet you they won’t any time soon. They will continue to get killed by teams who take the game to them and punch them in the nose. Teams that aren’t scared or intimidated by them like all of the French clubs are. They’ll get to the last 8 again and one of the English sides will knock them out.
  21. Will be even more hilarious when PSG choke and get smacked in the last 4-8 of the CL once again. 😂😂😂 That farmers league they play in where they’ll likely sleepwalk through is what kills their chances in the CL. They aren’t tested domestically against teams that actually have a proper go at them so when they play elite competition in Europe they don’t know what to do.
  22. Imagine the wage bill in Paris. Fucking hell. Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Ramos, Donnarumma, Hakimi, Di Maria, etc Not that it matters to these state funded clubs with literally limitless funds, but that’s gotta be an absurd wage bill that no other club in the world could afford.
  23. Until Messi inks a contract with a new club I’m not believing it’s done for him at Barca. But anyways, hopefully at least one of our 2 targets are sewn up by the end of this week.
  24. Saw someone on another forum suggest this is a planned power play from Barca to get La Liga to change the salary cap situation. They scare the league into thinking their biggest draw is leaving, they relax the salary cap rules, and then suddenly Messi decides to come back to Barca after all.
