Messi will apparently be on €40m per year (or well over 700k per week I’ve seen) at PSG. After taxes. Surely Neymar is earning a mega wage near that as well. All their other superstars are probably on gargantuan wages. Can they afford to give a 3rd superstar like Mbappe wages like Messi and Neymar? I know FFP is a joke now, but something has to stop them at that point, right?

Does anyone really care about PSG outside of France and Brazil with the Neymar connection? Football has grown massively here in America and yet PSG feel totally irrelevant here. It’s all about the PL clubs.

The team that signs Messi (PSG) will likely be giving him a mega signing-on fee. And of course since it’s PSG whatever massive signing-on fee is reported won’t be anywhere near what he’s actually receiving under the table via shady, illegal deals. He’ll probably get a nice £100m deposit in a secret Swiss bank account from the Qatar royal family. Another reason why we won’t even be a consideration. Even a multimillionaire like Roman can’t compete with the limitless cash of the arabs.

If Roman got his wish years ago and Pep was currently Chelsea manger I think Messi would probably be on his way. But no chance here. He wants to play with his mates in Paris before retiring to Inter Miami in a couple of years.

Other than very loose links with Tchaomeni months ago, have we actually been linked with any midfielders? Of course Rice had been talked about forever but that’s never, ever happening this summer. Feels like we’d have heard whispers simmering for a while now if we actually were after someone like we have with Koundé and Lukaku. I think the plan from the club is to not sign a midfielder and hope Billy kills it at Norwich so he’s ready to slot in next summer.

Saw someone on another forum suggest this is a planned power play from Barca to get La Liga to change the salary cap situation. They scare the league into thinking their biggest draw is leaving, they relax the salary cap rules, and then suddenly Messi decides to come back to Barca after all.

Messi seems to really value playing with his close buddies so I can’t imagine he’d even consider us since there’s no one he knows here. He just had that pic taken the other day where he was chilling with all those PSG players so that’s probably where he’s off to.

There are really only 2 places Messi can go. Maybe 3. PSG, City, and United. Those are the only ones who can offer over 500kmor more per week.

Lukaku never played for a progressive, front foot, assertive side when in England. He was at United in their worst and lowest point in recent history. Let’s at least see how he does now that he will be. This will be the best team he will have ever played in at club level with arguably the best manager.

Yeah, I doubt we’ll even see Lukaku ready for the first PL match never mind the Super Cup. Has he even been back to Milan yet for training?

Much rather see Haaland at City than United. City illicit zero emotion out of me either way. I absolutely cannot stand Man United and especially their über entitled fanbase so him going there would be unbearable. Hopefully Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern get obsessed and fixated on Haaland so he doesn’t come to the PL. Or let’s hope United somehow implode this season and aren’t attractive to him next summer.

It would be very strange (and smart) for Tammy to go to Atalanta. I would’ve figured for sure that a young English striker who can score for smaller teams wasn’t highly sought after by multiple PL clubs. If he can get his head down and really improve in Italy at a very good club he’ll be back in the PL for £50m or more in a couple of years.
