  1. Spot on. Sarr and Mendy were ace individually but we were all over the shop collectively. We allowed them chances over and over again in our box. They hit the post multiple times. Mendy saved our skin like 4 times. Another day and we concede several. That thought combined with our horrendous looking attacking play is concerning. Yes, 3 points is 3 points, but there are quite a few worrying signs. Every attacking player looking gash is chief amongst them. Our defenders are more clinical than our expensive attackers.
  2. I don’t fucking get it. We came out of the half time talk and dominated the first 15 minutes. Then just completely stopped playing. We were also HORRIBLE defensively and could’ve conceded 3-4 on another day. We looked like Burnley defending against City for the last 25 minutes, ffs. Embarrassing. Chalobah and Sarr were decent individually but our overall defensive organization was all over the shop. I pray Rüdiger and Silva are back ASAP.
  3. Toney is infuriating to watch. Dives to the ground with ANY contact.
  4. We didn’t play poorly overall. Though if we had an in form Mount or Havertz around the box we’d be much more incisive.
  5. Once again there is zero link between midfield and our strikers. Can’t get Rom even a sniff of the ball in any sort of dangerous area.
  6. I assume Brentford are going to try to blitz us early and be super physical. Hopefully our midfield are prepared.
  7. Imagine someone telling us just a couple months ago that the likes of Sarr, RLC, Barkley, Chalobah etc would be getting quality minutes for us this season. I mean, they’ve earned it, but still. Crazy. Let’s hope they at least work their socks off today since we’re a bit short on quality.
  8. That is an ugly looking XI. 😂 Where is the service to Werner and Rom coming from?
  9. Looks like all our rivals will win today, then.
  10. Tbf, they had a lot of question marks heading into the season. It wasn’t a given that all their injured defenders would look like their best selves again. Mané, by his standards, was really poor last season. They only signed 1 player who isn’t even a starter. And Klopp was talking about his post Liverpool life and about burning out. I think it was right to wonder whether a team that goes 120mph at all times could recapture their form of a couple years ago. Annoyingly for all non-Liverpool fans they have. Only thing that really makes me envious of them is the sheer variety of ways they can kill teams compared to us. In any given match one of Salah or Mané can be totally unplayable and world class. Sometimes they both will be. BOTH of their fullbacks can slaughter you going forward or on set pieces. Their damn keeper can launch attacks from the back. For us it seems like we either get goals from Rom or random defenders. None of our midfielders score, none of our wide players score, and our attacking fullback play has been poor overall, few flashes apart.
  11. One thing that could mess their season up is the African Cup which could see Salah and Mané miss almost a month. They’re a lot less scary with Minamino, Firmino, and Jota as their front 3. Still decent but not scary.
  12. It’s why I didn’t even bother watching this game. Soon as I looked at the fixture list early this morning I knew Liverpool would absolutely better Watford. If Salah remains fit for the whole season they’ll be right there at the very end in the title fight. Liverpool’s first XI is still as good as anyone’s in the world. It’ll come down to the big games for them and fitness of 2-3 key players. Because they’re likely going to annihilate all the small teams like they are today. Back to their best attacking wise.
  13. Our best 2 CB’s both injured. That’s terrible news coming out of an international break against a team that will be extremely well prepared and is already tough to deal with. Silva and Toni are also huge factors on set plays and corners at both ends as well so these are huge losses. And Pulisic, man. He’s injured like 90% of the time. He’s been injured so long I don’t even remember what’s wrong with him.
  14. Yeah, watching wide strikers like they have is much more exciting than having a lone #9 for me. Werner was one of the best around in Germany but we see how that’s going…
  15. Salah back to his ridiculous best, sadly. Clear favorite for Player of the Season by the look of it.
  16. Imagine if City are able to sign Haaland next summer, btw. They’re probably thanking their lucky starts that Kane didn’t happen because he looks a shadow of himself now. They’ll walk the PL for the next 5 years with Haaland.
  17. City are still comfortably the best side in the league. It’s not really close when they’re in form. Like last season, they just needed a few matches to play themselves into shape. Their ability to suffocate even the very best teams like ourselves and Liverpool away from home is insane. Now watch Liverpool pip this in the second half 😂
  18. Quite a few of our lads should feel extremely relieved that they went down to 10 men. Some shockers out there today before that.
  19. EVERY. SINGLE. BALL. forward wayward, ffs.
  20. It’s like our players thought Southampton would come out for the second half and roll over. Once they lucked out and had that goal disallowed they will have been hugely confident coming back out.
  21. Zero creativity in midfield has cost us dearly once more. Should be FAR out of sight, done and dusted.
  22. My goodness. Only one team has come out at half time and it ain’t us. Getting dominated in this half by a team who hasn’t fucking win this season.
  23. Press the fucking ball. My god. Just allowing them to comfortably stroke the ball around.
  24. If we had prime Leipzig Werner from 2 years ago he would’ve feasted in that first half, btw. Got into lots of positions where he destroyed the Bundesliga. Still has no confidence when he’s 1v1 in wide areas to take his man on and shoot.
  25. Ruben looks incredible these last 3 appearances all the way up until the final ball. Similarly to Kova. They carry the ball from deep, skip past 2-3 players, and then they both choke with the final pass. When City and Liverpool carve through poor teams like we have done here they run the score up by getting 5-6 goals. That’s the big difference with us. Our poor finishing is going to give Southampton the confidence and belief that they can get at least a point here now.
