Pedro Neto with full confidence like this is an incredible player.
-
Another absurd penalty awarded. Arm completely to his side, ffs.
-
Lovely, we get to watch Nkunku slowly jog about unbothered and offering fuck all in the final third once again despite him clearly being up for sale. Elsewhere, it’s 100% clear now already that João Pedro is instantly ahead of Jackson in Maresca’s mind as our striker. Think he’s absolutely sending Nico a message. Shape up or you’re buried.
-
I think his injury issues started before he even arrived, didn’t they? Anyway, regarding this match I don’t like what I’m hearing when it comes to the weather conditions. Extremely hot and extremely humid. Against a really old opponent who will be happy to sit deep and close shop to conserve their energy and who are used to the heat being a South American side.

I don’t see any club coming in for Noni at £50m+. Nobody other than a PL team has that sort of money to spend on him and I highly doubt Noni would agree to go to a club that’s a big step down in terms of profile like a Forest or Villa. So it feels like either he goes to Arse or stays. And I’d personally rather get a slightly compromised price and replace him with an upgrade than risk Arse walking away.

Lot of people seem to think Fofana is going to become a top player in the future. So imagine if we instead go ad sign Garnacho 🤢🤢🤢 Which in addition to him not being good enough for us, would have the knock on effect of handing United a bunch of money to upgrade their squad.
-
If we manage to sell Madueke and Nkunku I’d be fine keeping Jackson and giving him one more season to prove himself.
-
Yeah, it’s a massive loss for sure but I figured we’d basically have to give him away for next to nothing or he’d be repeatedly loaned out for years. Getting £25m for him is beyond my wildest expectations. If you would’ve told me 24 hours ago that some team offered us £15m for him I’d have said “eh, that’s not bad.” lol
-
Getting £25m for Disasi would be award worthy.
-
That Elanga price is crazy but I think Newcastle were starting to get a bit desperate after repeatedly missing out on other targets. I think he’s a pace merchant who had one breakout season excelling in a counter attacking style. I don’t really see any special attributes with him at all. As for Noni going for a similar price, yes, that would be ideal. But at this point I just want to sell him before Arse change their mind and go for someone better. If that’s £40-45m with some add ons on top then fine.

I just don’t understand. How does someone as young as him have so many fucking injuries? Unless he’s got some sort of degenerative condition that’s always going to recur that we don’t know about. He’s 21 years old and has somehow had an entire career’s worth of injuries. And what’s most ridiculous is that we almost never actually SEE his injuries! He plays a game, gets through it with no visible issues, and then days later we suddenly find out he’s gone for extended periods with no explanation.
-
Sure does feel silent all around so far today. Expected to hear more Madueke stuff when I woke up and generally about a bunch of activity around the league.
-
The more I think about it the more I’m of the mind that another specialist LW must be brought in if Madueke goes. If the idea is to depend on Gittens who is only 20 and coming into a new, much tougher league + Tyrique George who isn’t ready yet either then we could be in trouble in that area if the former struggles to adapt. Not a Kudus type who can play anywhere but isn’t natural in a specific position. But a natural LW who you can swap interchangeably with Gittens. George can go out on loan and play every week.
-
I just can’t see Arse spending £68m on Eze to backup Odegaard, £50m on Madueke to backup Saka, and then £80m+ on Rodrygo. All that after the big money to sign Zubimendi and Gyokeres. If they sign Madueke and Eze there’s surely no way they’re still in for another AM like Rodrygo.
-
I was talking about if they get Eze first. I don’t know why they’d need both.
-
We definitely have a pretty big headache on our hand next summer potentially. If Quenda continues his development and has a great season whilst Estevão & Pedro Neto do here then I wonder what happens. What would be the pathway to first team game time for Quenda if we have two great RW? One of which has the potential to be the next Neymar.
-
He can fill in there in an emergency situation but he is not a winger. You want Pedro in and around the box causing havoc for defenses like we got a glimpse of against Palmeiras. I feel like we 100% need another player in who is more naturally comfortable out wide on the left. Because as of now it’s going to be either Gittens or playing someone out of position out there. What happens if Gittens doesn’t settle quickly or gets injured? We’re kind of screwed in that position.
-
Oh, he’ll score a bunch for sure. But I can’t see Haaland alien numbers or anything.
-
Villa selling their women’s team the other day apparently means they’re fine with PSR now reportedly. No chance to get Rogers this summer I would think.
-
So no Kudus for us then. Would’ve been a nice signing but a luxury. Not too bothered. Just hope that if someone else is brought in it’s anyone but Garnacho.
-
I think any of our fans still holding out hope for a new keeper coming in need to abandon that thought now. The ONLY reason there was a chance a few weeks ago is because we thought we could get Maignan for a steal of a price. But once Milan dug their heels in and we walked away I think that was the end of any keeper pursuit. The thinking was most certainly “if we can get some top class keeper for a bargain price we’ll do it. Otherwise, we’ll stick with what we have.” Sanchez will have until January to show whether he can stay. If he once again costs us points then we’ll finally do something.
-
Smart of Arse to get Gyokeres done before Madueke 🤣 Now their fans won’t be as mad when that signing hopefully gets done this coming week.
-
I do agree that Gyokeres is being overrated a bit. Everyone is so convinced that he’ll be a Haaland/RvP/Aguero level striker who’s going to score 30 PL goals but I don’t think he’ll get near that.
-
Don’t really see the point in them getting both Eze and Rodrygo. Both are the level of player that should be starting every match. Eze going from star boy who ran the show at Palace to squad player at Arse would be Grealish to City like. And Rodrygo would surely only go there if he’s assured of a starting role every week or else he’d be in the same situation as he is now at Madrid. Whatever happens, there are now ZERO excuses for Arteta and Arse not to win the league. Can’t keep finishing 2nd over and over again. With the sort of money spent and the few weak areas of their squad finally addressed he NEEDS to win it this year.
-
Arse’s probable front 4 will be Gyokeres up top, Eze LW, Saka RW, and Odegaard at #10. Rice and Zunimendi as the midfield 2. And then their elite back line. Annoying as hell to say that they’ll probably have the best XI in the league.
