  1. Perfectly legal challenge from Kk there….fuck off, ref
  2. Only concern about this attack Potter has chosen is that there isn’t a ton of width. Which means if Southampton defend like most struggling teams do traditionally (keep things very narrow and clog up the width of the goal) we could be in for a super frustrating match.
  3. Hopefully we actually assert ourselves from the kickoff here and force an early goal. Don’t let a desperate team in a relegation fight gain confidence by being defensively solid.
  4. Imagine the curse of the Chelsea striker hitting someone we spend £150m on…. 😬😬😬
  5. Reece apparently just going to be rested. Which is a bold move considering it’s an absolute must win game.
  6. Wonder what the likes of GNev and the media members who have slaughtered other PL clubs for their ownership say if his beloved “pure, family club” Man United get taken over by a repressive, human rights abusing Arab state. My guess is that they’ll be a whole lot more quiet since for some reason the British media clowns on American owners more.
  7. I wonder what they denied him for?
  8. For the life of me, I don’t understand these new Neymar links at all whatsoever. Feels like a totally fabricated story that came simply as a result of Boehly being seen with the PSG president. What possible use would we have for 30+ year old Neymar when we just bought a bunch of wide attacking players over the last 2 windows? He’s the antithesis of the profile we’ve been targeting. Even if he terminated his contract I’m not sure we’d be interested in a free due to his obscene wages.
  9. Just a reminder once again that he was so unbelievably shit last year that he couldn’t get many minutes in the worst performing United side in memory. He looked like a terrible shadow of the player he was previously. United fans wanted him sold. His own supporters were laughing and joking when PSG were linked with him and none of them could understand why on Earth any other big club would want him. They were saying they’d drive him to Paris themselves. Now just a year later he’s arguably the most unplayable dude in Europe and is dragging United into a title race. Shows you what a top class coach who can restore belief and confidence can do.
  10. Yep. At the very least Auba has always been a lethal penalty box finisher. Him simply being in and around the box will result in him getting chances with the new boys we have in the team now. For example, if that golden chance yesterday where KK was literally standing totally free on the Dortmund penalty spot had fallen to Auba he’s scoring that. Or when Kai was 1v1 in the box and couldn’t do anything with it. Or when James and Chilly are putting in solid deliveries and nobody is finishing them. We have to try it.
  11. Fantastic footballer who opponents are genuinely concerned about whenever he gets on the ball. Finishing isn’t where it needs to be but everything else is great. We NEED to keep him.
  12. For me this is the time to try Auba up top in front of Felix and surrounded by Mudryk and either of Madueke or Sterling. Unlike earlier in the season when we weren’t even creating chances for him and he looked totally isolated, we actually have some superb creators in the team now. Plus Chilly + Reece are back and we have Enzo who can play a killer ball. Mount has been dropped and we’ve looked much better, now it’s time to drop Havertz and try a natural #9. We’re just harming ourselves if we freeze him out for the rest of the season.
  13. Expect Dortmund will be even more defensive at the Bridge than they were in that second half today. So it could be even tougher to score against them if we don’t take our chances.
  14. There’s zero chance he’s sacked after that. If we had been battered and played off the pitch, maybe. If we fail to beat bottom of the league Southampton with a caretaker manager, though…..
  15. Dortmund played like a team near the bottom of the PL whose only real threat was counters and quick changes of possession. And as we all know that’s often a recipe for success against recent Chelsea who can’t score to save their lives. If we had just 1 clinical finisher we kill the tie stone dead tonight.
  16. Highway robbery from Dortmund. Pathetic finishing from us combined with some terrible luck as well. I expected WAY more from a Dortmund side who have been flying. But we should battered them by 3-4 goals there.
  17. This is insane. This is almost completely one sided. This looks like City against a Championship side. We are fucking battering them but CANNOT score despite golden chance after golden chance.
  18. How fucking slow does Havertz look in these 1v1 situations over and over!? The forward should always have the advantage against a big CB. But Kai consistently chokes on those chances.
  19. How the fuck do we leave 1 player back on a corner? And that 1 player is a fucking CM instead of a super quick fullback or something. That’s terrible coaching.
  20. Oh, fuck off. Completely dominating them and they score from OUR corner!
  21. Madueke or Sterling in place of Ziyech and a rapid forward like Nkunku in place of Havertz and we’d comfortably put Dortmund to the sword. They’re a tidy side and respectable but there is a considerable gulf in talent and quality between these two teams. If this was the Chelsea of the last 2 CL campaigns playing full of confidence we’d be cruising.
  22. Bench tonight really makes it even more puzzling that Auba was cut out. We have nobody at all we can turn to if we want to chase a goal. We have this massive bench of players and not one sub there that you’d fancy scoring since Mount and Gallagher have been so poor this season. Glass Man Pulisic should’ve been cut from the squad and Auba left in. Really dumb decision by Potter.
  23. Kova STILL not fit to start despite seeing him in training. 😒 Not feeling Ziyech against an aggressive, high energy Dortmund side but I suppose with Sterling out and Madueke ineligible we don’t have much choice. At least Chilly is in. Hope he’s ready for the pace of this match.
  24. Bellingham would be a pretty odd fit IF we decide to buy Felix permanently. Which I of course hope we do. We saw Felix occupy that area behind the striker against WH and he was brilliant there. Bellingham likes to get forward and get into those areas frequently as well so I’m not sure it’s wise to pair Enzo with a player like that. We’d be best served signing Rice/Caicedo/Koné. I’d obviously never say no to Bellingham but I’m not sure how having just Enzo as the primary shield for the defense would look.
