Our two most dangerous passers James and Enzo we haven’t been able to get on the ball AT ALL. Wtf are we doing?!

Just letting them comfortably stroke the ball around like they’re at home. We have the superior players all over the pitch but can’t get a sniff of the ball.

That’s true, but we have a hell of a lot of things that surely need to be done before we can spend another gigantic amount on incomings. Especially one that will cost well north of £100m. First and foremost, we still have that £100m anchor Lukaku around our necks and Inter thus far don’t seem keen on committing to extending his loan yet.

Osimhen has new United marquee signing written all over him for me. Unfortunately, in our current state he may view us as a step down from a Napoli side that are soon to be title winners in Serie A and who knows what in the CL. Whilst our squad is amazing and has incredible potential, our future in terms of challenging for the league is very uncertain. United on the other hand may be 2 signings away from being legit contenders and will most certainly have CL football to offer. I suppose we do have some things that could entice him to choose us. We have loads of French speakers in our squad that would help him settle. He has claimed before that Drogba was his hero and may want to follow in his footsteps. And perhaps most importantly, when our owner gets fixated in a target we have shown that we’ll go all out. Unlike United who fuck around for months twiddling their thumbs.

I can’t decide which is more implausible, Osimhen choosing us with no CL football when he’ll be coveted by every big club around or us agreeing to pay £150m for a striker after being burned time and time again by big money strikers. I cannot imagine us spending that kind of cash after what we’ve already spent. Not on one player.

Do wonder how we line up at the back since Badiashile is out. Can’t recall if Trev has ever played on the left of a back 3 and to play him in an unfamiliar position for the biggest game of our season when he hasn’t played much lately seems unwise. So I wonder if we just slide KK over to the left where he has played a lot, have Fofana in the center, and Trev on the right. Or if we just revert to a back 4 again. What I’m most concerned about is the nerves our players will have knowing that if Dortmund score first and early in the match the tie might be over since we’re so incredibly goal shy. It’s absolutely imperative that we score first and make them start to sweat. Hope Mudryk starts this one. I would drop Kai and play Felix as the false 9 with Mudryk & Sterling either side. We need pace and directness.

Crazy how much difference a few weeks makes. We were easily better than them in that day and we were level in the table. Fast forward to now and they’ve taken off and left us in the dust.

Both teams suddenly reverted to last season’s form this match. Think Liverpool will certainly pip Spuds to 4th to finish. The bastards will have gone from looking like their cycle of challenging for everything was totally over and in full “rebuild from the ground up” mode to now having CL football and a great platform to recruit from. If they get Bellingham and a couple more in they’ll be right back to the top next season.

No matter how much world class talent we have I cannot ever picture us challenging the truly top teams in this league with a mediocre manager.

Liverpool’s old, aging squad looked done and dusted when they were right there in the mud with us level on points. Looked like they were in desperate need for a total rebuild. Look at them now. What an elite manager can do.

Koné and Lavia are two midfielders who we should 100% be after to partner Enzo. Exactly the sort of style we need in there. Super comfortable on the ball but also very athletic and powerful. My preference would be Lavia because he’s doing it in the PL already.

The issue with it before was that it stifled our creativity when Jorginho and a rotating cast of out of form midfielders were in there. Mount was woefully out of form, Chilly and Reece were injured, Fofana injured etc. With a CM that actually looks to pass the ball forward in Enzo, our wingbacks fit now (fingers crossed with Reece) and multiple CB’s who can carry the ball and pass forward like Fofana and Badiashile this system can work much better. With the current personnel we have I much prefer we stick with the back 3. When we get Enzo a proper partner in the summer and some sort of goal scorer up top then perhaps we can move back to a 4.

This is Enzo when he isn’t even used to the league or his teammates fully yet. Big, BIG player for the future. There are some sloppy giveaways here and there because he’s always trying to make things happen even when they aren’t on but those will get ironed out. The way he is always looking to either play it forward or ping it out wide to the free man is amazing. He’s like the polar opposite of J5. When we eventually get Mudryk up to speed and have Nkunku next season, Enzo should be lethal with pace like that to pick out.

Chilly, Fofana, and Enzo all very good on the day. The back 3 is so HUGELY beneficial to Chilly it’s not even funny. He’s a totally different player when he can bomb forward time and time again and Leeds didn’t know what to do with him. Reece will do the same on the other side when he’s back. If we had someone, anyone who can be a penalty box striker and get in the end of these crosses we’d start scoring goals again. Havertz clearly isn’t it. Auba NEEDS to start playing. Been one of the best penalty box predators in the world during his career and he can’t even get a game when we’re dead up front.

Our players’ heads go and confidence drops off a cliff when they control the game and still can’t score in a brothel. It’s like it says the energy out of them. Inject some pace into the attack with Mudryk or a focal point that can make the ball stick like Fofana or Auba.

Feels exactly like last week. Start extremely quickly and out to prove that we’re up for the fight. Then we run out of steam and look lost.

Havertz is the new Mount. Undroppable regardless of form. How is Mudryk supposed to get up to speed and gain form if we keep starting him on the bench?

He’d be a good signing but don’t City have a first refusal clause? With uncertainty surrounding Gündogan they may need to refresh their midfield. If they miss out on Bellingham I think they’ll bring Lavia back.
