  1. Why is Onana even being linked away from the CL finalists? Especially having just recently moved there.
  2. I like Vlahovic’s game more than Osimhen’s (better all around footballer) but there’s just something about him that makes me think he’d flop here. Reminds me a lot of Morata in that the supreme talent is there but he doesn’t have that killer in him. Hasn’t really come close to living up to the hype since moving to Juve, either.
  3. Oh, I’m not stressed or worried. Just puzzled as to what’s taking so long to announce it. I was expecting it Tuesday at the latest.
  4. True. And Santos as mentioned above who I forgot about. Not sure it’s worth having either of those two in the first team squad, though. What they need most is to be playing every week and developing, not sitting on our bench. Whilst Poch is great with young players and training with loads of top players would be great for them, going out on loan will probably be best. If we can get Santos in particular on loan to a top Portuguese club for a season it could do wonders.
  5. I can’t see us buying 2 very expensive midfielders. Perhaps if Lavia is cheap due to Southampton going down. Enzo, new DM, Kante, and Chukwameka seems fine for a season without any Europe.
  6. Seems like we aren’t even going to fight Arse for Rice. I’m not even that bothered if so despite me really rating him. I’d love to see Rice in a Chelsea shirt but I won’t begrudge the club at all for not wanting to pay £100m for him. I’d be super excited with any of Caicedo, Ugarte, or Lavia. Unlike with the #9 position there are thankfully lots of high quality options for the DM role available to us. And none of them are at really huge clubs that would make them extremely difficult to sign. Enzo paired with any of the 3 above would be awesome and settle our midfield for the foreseeable future.
  7. Fair play to him but let’s be real here, if he wasn’t at a huge club like Chelsea he’d be on his way to some traditionally low on the table PL side like Bournemouth or Norwich or Burnley where he could finally play every week. He wouldn’t even be on the radar for a legendary giant like Milan.
  8. Where is this announcement? Everyone briefed that it was done last Friday and said it would be announced early the next week. Well?
  9. RLC going to Milan would be great and that’s a much bigger move than he probably deserves. But it’d be great if all our deadwood are sorting their moves away ahead of the summer.
  10. Yeah, Madrid are one of the best sides in the world at keeping the ball, popping it around effortlessly from back to front, and carving through teams with clever passing patterns. They did it to us over and over again. And yet City made them look like a traditional midtable PL side. They’re so much better than everyone else in Europe when in form it’s a joke. Inter’s only chance is to park a bus so massive that it frustrates the hell out of City and then snatch a fluke goal somehow. But I think City will win by some silly margin, sadly.
  11. So uh….whatever happened with the whole City breaching over 100 financial laws stuff? Has everyone just forgotten about all that? City just get to roll on as if none of that happened?
  12. Toney could probably be bought for a massively reduced fee now but we’d still be idiots to sign someone who will miss months of the season. In a position we’re desperate for immediate quality in. Scratch him off the list, please!
  13. Why would we be after ANOTHER led sided attacker? Nonsense.
  14. Even if Gallagher improves I don’t see where he plays. Especially when we’ll have only the PL to play for most of the season. He’s the sort of guy who needs to be playing every match to reach his best form and he won’t get that here. Especially since we’ll be buying a new midfielder to partner Enzo. So it’ll be another season next year where he’s riding the bench. I’d rather sell a squad player like Conor for £40m or whatever and use that money. Poch is brilliant at developing young players so we can keep Chukwameka in the team to work under him. He’s got more talent than Gallagher anyways.
  15. Don’t like that I’m reading tweets about how Poch may fancy Gallagher to stay and be an important player. For me he’s 100% one that should be going. We can get very good money for a player who simply isn’t Chelsea quality. We could fund most of a new, top class DM (other than Rice) with the money we’d get for Gallagher alone. Pulisic, Ziyech, Gallagher, Koulibaly, RLC, Kepa, Mendy, Auba, and Zakaria should all be the 100% gone players Mount and Kova are two that can stay but I wouldn’t be that sad to see go at this point. We really need to stop with this “new manager can get ____ back to his best” stuff that we do with each new cycle. A bunch of these players have underperformed under manager after manager and are never going to be consistent. Time to bite the bullet and do a mass clear out.
  16. I was gonna come in here and post what I thought would be a super hot take that many would disagree with but I see others just said it already. I have real doubts about Osimhen in the PL. He’s got an impressive arsenal of finishes and is a great penalty area striker but he reminds me a LOT of Lukaku in the open pitch away from the box. Meaning he’s very inconsistent and looks super awkward/clumsy. Like Lukaku he looks great using their big frames to hold the ball up sometimes and others he looks like Bambi on ice. ‘Would he be a massive upgrade on what we have? Absolutely. Is he worth over £100m? Not for me. I think he’d flop at that price. I’d prefer us to get more of a skillful footballer as our striker than a big #9.
  17. The stuff about Poch being a maniacal training and fitness guy are what excites me most. These soft players are terribly unfit. They need a massive kick up the ass. If he can emulate the exact same style here that he had at Spuds were in for something special. A super fit team that presses all over the pitch AS A UNIT whilst also playing neat, tidy football.
  18. He’s an insane talent. I just wonder what happens with our LCB position. Koulibaly will be a huge pain in the ass to move with that contract and the wages he commands. And Badiashile is a similar age to Levi and is a starting quality CB as we’ve seen. Unless we can loan out KK there’s a real headache for Poch to figure out. Especially with the drastically reduced fixture list and far less roatation.
  19. If United don’t get him where else could he go? City don’t need a #9 obviously. Real Madrid don’t. Barca don’t. Juve are in the dumps. Bayern would probably love him but ain’t spending mega money I wouldn’t think. If he’s adamant that he wants out I think ourselves and United are the only options. He probably fancies the PL record, too, so will want to stay in England.
  20. I actually disagree with this. I think Kane’s game will age fantastically. Think he’ll replicate exactly what Lewa and Benzema are doing currently and scoring for fun well into his mid 30’s. He’s already slow, he already doesn’t rely on running, isn’t a high jumper. I think in a team with lots of athletes and legs around him he’ll continue to score 20+ in the league every season. If was open to moving here to work under Poch again I’d be fine with us making a mammoth offer. But on principal Levy would say no. Do wonder if he’d still dig his heels in if we offered north of £100m with just 1 year left on his contract. At some point it would be totally irresponsible for him to turn down silly money for a player that wants out, no matter how nasty it would be selling to a hated local rival. Especially for a cheap club like Spuds who will not only not have UCL money but also have that stadium bill hanging over them still. My guess is that he ends up as United’s new poster boy, though. Easier for Levy to sell to a non-rival, non-London club and easier to tell the fans that he wanted to go play in the UCL. And think about England’s #1 most beloved player going to England’s #1 darling club… 🤢🤢🤢
  21. Think it’s safe to assume that Osimhen is off the table because of his price and so is Kane because of Levy. Lautaro is at a CL club who still have a chance to win it (not gonna happen, tho) and the Inter hierarchy are already saying that they’re planning with him for the long term. Also saw a quote from them that he could be future captain. So he ain’t going anywhere unless a truly monster offer goes in. That doesn’t leave any truly ready made, top class strikers left. Just decent ones like Ivan Toney or up and coming talents. And those are the sorts of risks we really can’t afford after years and years of going that route. I have this sinking feeling that we’re going to look around everywhere and be unable to find the right striker only to end up having to use Lukaku again. 🤦‍♂️
  22. Weird. Maybe I’m having a brain fart because I could’ve sworn I read he fell off this season. But it’s clearly the opposite. In which case I don’t see how we could possibly sign him.
  23. Hasn’t Lautaro been woeful this season? The last thing we need is another bust of a striker. The other 3 would be brilliant signings.
  24. Good. Now let the mass clear out of the players he doesn’t want start the moment the season ends. Be ruthless.
  25. Play the under 18’s and let them win. Fuck Arse’s title hopes up.
