Yep. Or perhaps send him to Brighton who are going to lose both Caicedo and Mac Allister. He likely wouldn’t play every match of course but learning the De Zerbi way for a season could be brilliant.
-
I distinctly remember when we were in the midst of our mega spending spree these last two windows and every opposition fan was crying about FFP, there were multiple reliable journalists saying that the club weren’t concerned about breaching it at all. So if we weren’t worried about it then I can’t imagine we are now after we stand to recoup nearly £200m in sales.
-
He (like many English journalists) is a massive Mount fanboy. Notice how not a single one of these journalists or pundits on TV mentioned during the season how dreadful Mount was but now that we’re selling him they’re all acting as though we’re letting prime Iniesta walk to a rival.
-
They already have Jota, Salah, and Luis Diaz. Plus Darwin who for some reason seems to play better from wide than centrally. Kinda weird that they’re going for more attacking mids. Kinda annoyed that they’re getting Szoboszlai, though. He feels like the usual Klopp attacker who will come in and immediately look awesome like so many usually do.
-
Honestly, I’m past caring about the goalkeeper position at this point. If we improve the midfield and attack further up the pitch Kepa can be serviceable for another season. If our attackers and midfielders are pressing, controlling the run of play, and scoring goals then Kepa will face fewer threats. He’s got a couple of glaring weaknesses (commanding his area on corners and crosses + letting in long shots due to his short arms) that can be mitigated significantly if we are the ones dominating games and taking those opportunities away from opponents. 100% of the focus needs to be on midfield and attack right now and if some sort of deal for a keeper becomes a possibility later in the window we can move then.

Haha, I just mean stylistically not quality wise. Osimhen is obviously way better than Tammy.
-
There’s literally no place in the team for Ziyech. So if this Saudi move breaks down just terminate his contract. He can’t come back here.
-
Looks like a much better footballer than Tammy to my eyes. Ironically, Tammy reminds me of Osimhen actually. Does just about ALL of his damage as a poacher/predator in the 18 yard box and looks really clumsy elsewhere on the pitch. To be clear, I’m not saying we should go out and spend 100m on Kolo Muani. Just that he’s the profile of #9 we should want. Not another classic big #9 who is great at finishing but average at everything else. If that’s what we want we could just bring Lukaku back.
-
Don’t think we’re after him really. Just a name that we’ve been linked with by Twitter rando’s by the look of it. But he’s got a ton of hype around him after a sensational season. Scored and assisted a ton of goals. While Jackson had a great end to the season Kolo Muani did it over a whole season. He’s a bit older and I would assume more experienced but I haven’t watched him.
-
If you told me that we were going to go after an “elite striker” in addition to Jackson (which I’m highly skeptical we will do) and the choice was between Kolo Muani or Osimhen I’d take Kolo Muani without hesitation. Much better footballer and someone who can create for others at a high level.

Another midfielder who would be a great Mount/Kova replacement is Kudus. Excellent ball carrier and has that relentless energy that could do extremely well in the PL. If City snatch Veiga before we can he would be my choice since Barella doesn’t seem to be realistic.
-
Szoboszlai’s reasonable release clause expires tomorrow so it’s unlikely to be him, sadly. He’s be the best Mount replacement we could make.
-
Now we’ll hear from all the English pundits the whole season about how stupid we were for selling Mount despite him being utterly dreadful all last season and refusing numerous contract offers. Of course not providing any alternative other than keeping him against his will, having him not sign a new contract, and then walk for free. Then they’d slaughter us even more for being dumb enough to let him go for nothing,
-
Good to finally have it done. Now let’s hope we waste no time at all in getting multiple midfielders in starting next week.
-
It’s bullshit, ignore it.
-
What the hell’s going on with our shirt deal, btw? As awful as this deal with Stake sounds, how have we STILL not formalized something yet? Having new signings holding up last season’s shirt is some amateur hour shit.
-
Will probably be holding up a City shirt by the time this sluggish Mount saga is over.
-
Why not just plop £100-120m on Levy’s desk for Kane NOW and see if he’s stupid enough to turn it down? That’s the Mount + Havertz money. Levy turning down enough money to completely refresh their squad for the new manager would be silly. Take £100m from a direct rival or watch him walk for free (likely to a direct rival anyways).
-
Caicedo + Gabri would indeed be ideal. But when Pep wants you as a Spanish player that’s probably a wrap. But we absolutely should be after a midfielder with his same profile. Caicedo as the replacement for the Kante duties (blanketing the pitch, hunting the ball down, disrupting passing angles, carrying it forward when needed) whilst we get another midfielder that’s more forward thinking to replace the outgoing amount and Kova.
-
Unless Ornstein jumps on Twitter to say that United are in for Caicedo then I’m not buying it.
-
We’re going to have some team in 2030 if these scouts who are convincing the club to pay tens of millions for teenagers have done their jobs. Feels a bit over the top, though. Feels like we’re hoovered up about 15 “wonder kids” since last summer.
-
Bruh, we’re spunking MORE money on ANOTHER teenaged talent! 😳😳😳
-
Are we waiting to officially sell Havertz and a couple of others until July 1 as well or do we absolutely need all these sales in the current FFP books?
-
Just feels frustrating that the clubs who finished 1st and 2nd last season are in all out attack mode in the window and will have most, if not all of their major business done before preseason even starts whilst we are the club that needs the most surgery but are working with the handbrake on due to our desperate need to clear out players. Yes, the club are doing a miraculous job at clearing said players out, but by the time we start to “attack the transfer market” as Fabrizio always says many of the names we’ve been heavily linked may be off to our direct rivals. At least it doesn’t seem like anyone else is going hard on Caicedo or Barella at this moment in time. So we should have limited competition for them once we do start pushing.
-
Damn. He is the picture perfect Klopp attacker. I had hoped we’d be after him.
