Absolutely absurd if we buy him when Nkunku is already out injured. We need attackers who can contribute from day 1.
-
If Nkunku is out for a long time we 100% NEED another goal scoring attacker. A RELIABLE goal scoring attacker. So Olise should be avoided since he’s fucking injured, too! Our marquee attacking signing and the one I was most excited for injured before we kick a ball in the PL. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

What would it even cost for PSG to sell Neymar? Feels extremely far fetched that we’d be able to afford him and Caicedo. And equally as far fetched that we’d pay his astronomical wages when we’ve just worked so hard to trim the wage bill. As usual when Neymar rumors start up (which is literally every window) our name gets dropped simply because these journalists can’t make it make sense for any other club. The rumor from earlier today that he’s keen to return to Barca seems closer to the reality than Chelsea.
-
In the highly unlikely event he came here I would be very skeptical about how he’d fare in the PL where he’ll have loads of clumsy defenders hacking him down and battering him at every opportunity. It would be like Hazard but worse because Neymar isn’t powerfully built like Eden was. I can’t see him casually dancing through entire teams like he can do in Ligue 1 without being fouled into oblivion.
-
Neymar and Chelsea links every single window. Name a more iconic duo.
-
Seeing Brighton fans saying that nobody trained today because their squad has the day off after their match yesterday. So it appears several journalists haven’t done their homework. Still, let’s hope the reporting about him now trying to force the issue and us being directly negotiating are true.
-
GET. IT. DONE.
-
Nkunku was going to be such a blessing and was the best thing to happen for Mudryk. Takes the pressure right off of him and allowed us to continue to be patient with him. If it’s true that he’s out long term that pressure and scoring/assisting burned returns. He’ll have to be at his sharpest right away to pick up the slack.
-
The Tyler Adams move still has me confused. The long term starting pairing will *crosses fingers* be Enzo + Caicedo. Then we have THREE quality teenagers in Andrey, Casadei, and now Ugochukwu who play in CM/DM. It’s already going to be an issue finding space for all these guys. So adding Adams who is still just 24 makes things even more of a headache in the long term. For this season specifically where we can use his PL experience it makes sense, I suppose. But what happens if Casadei and Ugo have extremely impressive loans and Andrey really impresses while staying here? We’ll have loads of midfielders then who all are good enough to be playing regularly and not enough minutes to go around.
-
In addition to the Caicedo saga rumbling on, we haven’t heard anything about Ziyech or CHO in a while. Ziyech feels like he fell off the face of the earth after his Saudi move collapsed weeks ago. CHO situation should be pretty easy to resolve this week. Also, wonder when the Chalobah stuff heats up again. Surely he’s gotta go now but there’s been zero indication that any club is prepared to meet our asking price.
-
They’d sell him after the season starts if we lose our first couple of matches, get desperate, and offer the same thing Arse paid for Rice.
-
I don’t think I can bare another entire week of “Chelsea is preparing another bid” or “Caicedo really wants Chelsea” tweets and reports. Gonna lose my mind if we don’t see some serious action tomorrow or Tuesday. Can’t leave this too late in the week for him to feature at the weekend. Laying down a marker against an elite side on our home pitch would be massive for the confidence of the club. Most people are already overlooking Chelsea because of last season and are predicting us to struggle again. Going out on the opening weekend and smacking Liverpool would force people to take us seriously. But I can’t see us doing it with Gallagher in there when we’re also likely without Nkunku. Liverpool’s front 4 will shred our midfield.
-
If De Zerbi wasn’t such a dick a couple of weeks ago towards us I’d actually like him. Seems like a serious, no bullshit manager. And he can obviously coach extremely well. Surely destined for a big time job if Brighton have another great season.
-
Will we pull an Arse or Liverpool and ever so slightly increase our bid to like £82m or will we actually push this over the line and offer something they’ll actually accept? Because if we fail with another bid this saga should end right there.
-
Hope we make that last lush for him FIRST THING tomorrow and don’t have to line up against Liverpool with a Enzo & Gallagher pivot. And with the transfer window going almost a month into the new season we can’t let this carry on any longer or some other big club that gets off to a poor start might try to get involved.
-
Nobody other than Arse supporters will care about the Community Shield when they wake up tomorrow. May as well be that cup we won in the US a week ago, that’s how meaningless it is.
-
That goal came because of John Stones trying to be cute on the other side of the pitch and giving the ball away that led to the corner. Pep might drop his ass for a month for that 🤣🤣🤣 But as meaningless as this match is Arse will gain a lot,of belief and momentum if they win this now.
-
Havertz has gone invisible in this second half. And I know it’s City they’re playing against, but Rice as a £100m+ player doesn’t really do anything with the ball. Still a solid defensive screen and has broken up play a few times but he doesn’t offer much with the ball at his feet for the price he was.
-
Yep. Literally the exact same situations he repeatedly fluffed when he was here. Chances that if taken change games but he comes up short again and again. He WILL score a decent number of goals at Arse because they’re laying chances on a plate for him. But he isn’t the main man.
-
They’re obviously the best side in the world right now, but fucking hell are City a snooze when they play like this. Walking the ball around the pitch making 1000 5 yard passes.
-
All of that benefits Brighton, true, but I’m not sure we would agree to wait and wait and wait until our whole preseason is done for such an important player. We would’ve wanted to bring in our most important signing of the summer weeks ago.
-
Olise just seems very Ziyech-like to my eye. A right winger who’s REALLY good at whipping in crosses from open play and set pieces but not a whole lot more. He’s bigger and more athletic than Ziyech of course so you won’t see him getting easily brushed off the ball, I guess. He just feels like more of a luxury player to me. And if we’re interested in that I’d much rather go and get Cherki.
-
A deal that may be worth £100m won’t just happen suddenly without the likes of Fabrizio or Ornstein reporting it shortly beforehand. So it’s clearly not imminent yet.
-
If we can get him over the line in time to start against Liverpool all will be forgiven.
-
Judging by how much Gallagher was used in preseason, how often he’s talked about his love for our club and how much he wants to stay I don’t think he’s going anywhere. All rumors of his departure have ceased as well. Looks like Poch finds him useful. Adams seems like the kind of midfielder you can bring on for or one of the attacking players later in matches when you want to see out a result. If we’re a goal up or just want to protect an important point away from home against a top team you can bring him on and he’ll be useful.
