  1. City fans not at all happy if this happens.
  2. Btw, more and more smoke about Salah leaving for Saudi this week. If that happens I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Liverpool immediately rush to throw that money at Brighton to replace Mo with Mitoma.
  3. That’s a LOT of money for a kid with just a tiny sample size of first team football. It would be a 100% “trust Poch/Shields” gamble. I just knew and have been saying for days that the target we’d eventually go for would be completely surprising and out of the blue. Palmer is a name not a single person who follows football could’ve guessed. When you think about it, with the fees we should be getting for Trev, CHO, and the several million in loan fees for Lukaku & Cucu we won’t really be spending much, if any on our new attacking signing.
  4. In this day and age of hyper inflated fees there was obviously no chance City were going to sell one of their brightest youngsters for £35m. We’re going to have to pay an uncomfortable amount for him if we want him. For a kid who has barely played it’s a huge risk.
  5. If we get him I’m just curious where Poch sees him. As someone mentioned on the last page Sterling has started the season brilliantly on that right side of our attack. But it appears that’s Palmer’s best position. His next most natural position seems to be the #10 area. But what happens eventually when all of Nkunku, Carney, and Gallagher are fit?
  6. Cole Palmer is surely a direct recommendation from Shields. Think I remember seeing a pic of Palmer, Shields, and Lavia together a couple of weeks ago during the Lavia saga. Also noticed Palmer congratulating Lavia on IG after his move here so they’re clearly good mates from their City days. If this move happens in addition to us going big for Lavia it will be crystal clear that the club and Poch trusts Joe Shields intensely.
  7. From what little footage I’ve watched he appears to play mostly on the right side as an inverted, left footed RW like Madueke. Or centrally as a 10.
  8. Hmm. I was under the impression that Cole Palmer was a striker. Seems he’s a #10/winger?
  9. That we haven’t heard any concrete “Chelsea have decided their target and have opened negotiations” talk this close to the deadline tells me that we probably couldn’t make what we wanted happen and will not be signing anyone else. Think we’ll wait for a January and target Toney.
  10. So the names I’ve seen throughout the day are Sancho, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, and Raphinha. I don’t think I’d be genuinely happy with a single one of those. And I really wanted both Sancho & Raphinha badly before they moved to United and Barca. If I had to choose one of those I’d probably take Sancho. His top level is higher than the others if it can be unlocked again. But he’s only obscene wages so is surely impossible with our current wage straucture.
  11. We need both him and Cucu to be awesome on their new loans so that Roma & United take them off of our books for good.
  12. Forest are like the pound shop version of us. Feels like they’ve signed 45 players over the last year. Really does feel like a terrible place to send Santos. Should’ve sent him to one of the top Portuguese clubs who are amongst the best in the world at developing young talents.
  13. Because it feels like he’s been permanently injured for the last 3 years and after that initial burst on to the scene he hasn’t come close to fulfilling that early promise. No chance do I think he’s at the level needed to walk into our team.
  14. Big time NO to Ansu Fati. The absolute last sort of profile that we need.
  15. A lot of them are in meltdown because they know he’s shit and saying we have scammed them again after Mount. And then there’s a bunch of them like Mark Goldbridge who are rationalizing with themselves like some of us were. “Maybe we’ll get the Brighton Cucu from 2 years ago!”
  16. It’s a bit weird, the Cucu situation. Luke Shaw’s injury isn’t severe. He’ll be back in just a few weeks. So then Cucu goes to their bench and is right back into the same situation he’s in here. With as injury prone as Chilly is you’d think Cucu would fancy his chances of getting more minutes for Chelsea than for United. But perhaps Poch has told him in no uncertain terms that even Maatsen is ahead of him now?
  17. Don’t think anyone has really tried for him because of his strong desire for Barca. But I’m sure he’d be happy to return here. I’m guessing his wages are the biggest hurdle or many top clubs would have been interested.
  18. Since it’s clear they hate each other and want the situation solved desperately, I wonder how much João Felix would cost to buy outright these days? Surely they aren’t still asking for silly money that nobody on earth other than Saudi’s would pay? Like, in an era where bang average talents like Brennan Johnson could go for £50m or more and his teammate on the other wing went for £45m then surely Felix for around £50m would be a steal if Atleti would accept that?
  19. Listening to a Poch just now, it sounds pretty much 50/50 whether we even do sign an attacker before the deadline. He wants one, the club are working hard behind the scenes, but they might come back and say the right player is not available. He says he’d be happy even if we don’t make another signing. Which says to me that that’s a real possibilty.
  20. Don’t think there’s any chance that the club doesn’t know who they want yet. It’s surely that they don’t want a super public back and forth that would get other clubs in a bidding war or complicate negotiations. There’s no way with mere days to go in the window that we’re scrambling around in desperation behind the scenes.
  21. From what I’ve been seeing the Arse fans seem almost universally against selling ESR to us and feel like he should be playing more for them. Idk, man. There’s obviously a very talented player there and for a cut price he may be worth a punt. But it would be very underwhelming compared to Cherki or Kudus.
  22. Palace would probably quote any club asking about him £100m at this point. Not even worth discussing, really.
  23. Seeing the latest Fabrizio quotes from his livestream tonight it sounds like Cherki isn’t really even under consideration. That’s a shame.
  24. It’s definitely a concern. If the player we bring in isn’t a natural forward but instead a winger and Nico gets injured we’d probably see Sterling playing as a false 9 if Broja wasn’t ready yet.
  25. Barcola doesn’t scream “special” to me watching him in highlights and that’s just the best bits of him. Talented youngster for sure but doesn’t strike me as a player who is good enough to instantly start for us. The Chelsea fans on Twitter begging for him are just anxious for anyone and have latched on to him. For me he needs to have another great season on a smaller stage like Lyon before he’s ready for a huge club. The only youngster who still has lots of development left to reach his potential that I’d instantly take and is obtainable is Cherki. Otherwise we would do well to get someone who is in their mid 20’s and ready to immediately help the team. Who that could be…. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
