  1. From what I've heard, Celtic fans had singled Islam out to be a future star and had been paying attention to his progress for years. They must be gutted.
  2. My prediction: Chelsea will finish anywhere from 1st to 20th in the PL this upcoming season.
  3. Look at all the wonderful away trips in that group... But seriously, it would take an unprecedented collapse to screw this up.
  4. Yes, signings are imminent. Maybe not for Chelsea, but they are definitely imminent.
  5. Okay, I was wrong, but I'm happy to be wrong. I would've gone after Louis Van Gaal, but I doubt he had any interest. This is a long-term signing and I hope Klinsmann's duties are not limited to national team manager.
  6. Man City are the second fiddle team of a city that would not be noteworthy if it weren't for their arch rivals and the rock bands that come from the city. Chelsea has a claim of being the #1 team in what is the nerve center of the world. Says it all, really...
  7. Gulati probably hired someone from MLS to replace him...
  8. Lampard helped set a standard that future generations of Chelsea players will be judged on. His impact and influence is immeasurable.
  9. Oh crap, I was thinking of the match at Eastlands. Nice catch.
  10. City spent so much so wildly that they're begging clubs to take certain players off their hands. It would be nice to beat them at the Bridge for once...
  11. Maybe it's just me, but I think this would be a better question if asked to fans of Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, West Ham...
  12. LA would be perfect for Balotelli. That city loves screwballs like him.
  13. The only crowd control problems American sports have had is when they had ten cent beer nights back in the day...
  14. Apparently, we're in a bidding war for Pastore...* * - This website is owned by Rupert Murdoch.
  15. We all want things, but that doesn't mean we'll get them.
  16. I have to be hypocrite of the week. My standards are different from the standards I hold others to.
  17. I'm curious as to what Gasperini is planning to do there. He's already said Sneijder isn't in his plans, and I think he's their best player. The transfer market will probably change my opinion, but I believe Milan has already passed them. I'm not so sure about either of the teams in the capital, and I agree with your assessment that Juve is now a joke. (I will change my mind if traitor American-born Giuseppe Rossi ends up there.)
  18. One of the only shirts in football that works with a collar. Shame they probably won't win the Scudetto next year.
  19. Let's be honest, signings are always imminent until a transfer window is closed, unless someone comes out at the beginning of the January transfer window and says there won't be any action. I'm willing to bet the blockbuster moves happen on deadline day.
  20. I prefer playing sports in the rain, unless thunder and lightning are nearby like they are now. Where I live, it's common.
  21. Haven't been to the website in over a year. No point in going there, it didn't tell me anything I couldn't find on other sites.
  22. There's a thing in America that allows clubs to break the wage structure for a certain number of "designated spots". Some teams have multiple spots while others have none, because they can be traded. There is no chance my "local" team Sporting Kansas City could ever sign a player of worldwide popularity, so they use their spot on Omar Bravo. There is no way someone like Anelka would have any interest in playing for a Kansas City or Columbus. If he comes to America, I can't see him going anywhere but either to New York or one of the Los Angeles teams and none of them have open designated spots.
  23. Serie A is surprisingly visible in America. 5-6 games are on ESPN3.com per round and I watch the occasional match in my down time. I don't support any Italian team, it's just easier to follow because I don't have cable.
