  1. what potential? the potential thats been talked up about when he was 21? when he was 22? when he was 23? i dont see any improvement in him when he started playing with us 3 years ago. another poor excuse. if we so want to take out potential then lets play boga and musonda. the point is he DID get injured. he got injured and did not get those minutes. just like the season before, where he fell off the wagon. the oscar that was injured and unable to play most of our games towards the end of the season had no problem playing the WC. as for turan not being better.. thats just LOL talk. turan's close control, holding on to the ball is light years ahead of oscar. turan's passing and dribbling is also way better. oscar has better goal scoring, and pace than turan, thats it!!! please watch some of ATM's matches from the last season or the season where atm won the liga and were the finalists. he was just brilliant. something which can be said about oscar for like 5-10 matches per season. also, who is talking about getting rid of oscar. turan is a RW. oscar is a CAM. hazard-willian/oscar-willian/turan thats how we would line up. or we going to simply blindly keep hoping for oscar's supposed "potential" to come through one fine day and reject any player who threatens his position?
  2. 17.8 mil? WTF!!! so in 6months his value fell by 33.3%?
  3. 2010 was bad. but i feel 12-13 was worse. we had "adequate" numbers. mazacar to start with, moses, marin, benayoun to provide us the bench. we ended up getting our asses kicked. i wont judge juan yet. i wont label him a flop yet. but hazard-oscar-willian with juan and salah as replacements is probably as bad as 12-13. last season showed exactly how useful someone like salah was where he was replaced with absolutely no one. would rather have traore here than him.
  4. believe me. i am not missing the point. the point is physical exhaustion. but oscar has played less minutes for chelsea than hazard, willian matic, JT, iva, azpi. if oscar has played confed in 2012, the european players have played the euros. if oscar played the WC, so did most of our other squad. the 1000 minutes extra we are talking about is over 3 seasons. not one. thats 3/4 games a season. and that 1000 minute stat is only for oscar, i am sure the other players too would have played 500-1000 minutes of football. the european players played the qualifiers while the brazilian team were playing useless friendlies, should that count for something. this "oscar being physically exhausted" is just another poor excuse for oscar's poor performances. some one said that he did not play a pre-season last year (not entirely true) so his body was not well conditioned in jan (really?) and thus his poor show. did not willian have the exact same schedule as oscar?
  5. the worst thing is that till the 18th july, nothing at all will be decided cos of the elections. even after the elections, i expect ot to take another week or so. so basically turan and pogba transfer saga will keep dragging on till then.
  6. i thought oscar's USP in our system was his "defensive workrate" not his goals. if his goals are his best point then they too are not that impressive to be honest. you are talking about willian's ineffectiveness in tight areas when comparing to oscar? really? i am sorry, but i simply cant believe oscar in the superior #10 after what i have seen for the past season. arsenal home game was probably the best game of the season for oscar. in that case, go on and watch willian's workrate, speed, acceleration, countering attacking prowess when chelsea played city at etihad in 13-14 season. the job he did on yaya. he was simply brilliiant that night. but we are not talking about the best games here. in general, you see willian covering for iva. you see willian closing down opposing wingers/fullbacks while iva is standing far off with his hands behind his back. fair enough. that is true. but dont know how much of it is only on oscar. oscar is not the only midfielder that presses. infact how many times have we seen willian making an insane sprint when the defenders pass the ball back to the opposing GK (it not only shows willian's pressing but also the fact that he is there there abouts in position with oscar, which makes your lateral movement point void). people often bring up oscar "importance" to the system. how he provides "balance". it is so weird that some of our best and most balanced performances have been made with oscar not in the team (stoke away this season and city away last season). infact most of the attributes -pace, acceleration, dribbling, defensive workrate along with defensive prowess (kane goal for spurs and many more such moments), point to willian. oscar is miles ahead in terms of the final product and the finish, but for overall play willian is a better player.
  7. please read gilvorak's comment and tell me if i have missed the point.
  8. fair enough not even close. cesc does as much work. iva and azpi do as much work. willian is definitely the person who does the most defending and covering considering iva;s position. as i said, fair point about JT but oscar is a 21-24 year old during this period. JT was 31-34. that has to count for something too. and its not just about JT. in the last 2 years oscar has averaged way less minutes than both willian and hazard, and i am pretty sure matic, iva would too. sorry, but not buying it. willian does more work. time and again willian has shown himself to be not just a good replacement but a better player than oscar. his form from jan-may is proof to that. he has been absolutely wonderful many times when played through the center.
  9. world cup 640 confed 405 olympics 460 total 1505 so basically 1500 minutes more with the NT (i wont even say "more" cos most of the players would be playing as much or atleast half of this) over the course of 3 years, averaging at 500 minutes per year. that too 500 minutes over the course of 2 months (since june and july are when these tournaments happen). i am suprised that oscar is able to even stand. i mean honestly, simply brilliant. hats off sir.
  10. i was talking about obsessions. atleast i am talking about a chelsea player. not someone who most probably wont even be coming to chelsea. and all i did was join the discussion, which had anyways drifted towards oscar, you can read it, which is very weird if you think about it cos turan will be bought as a RW, willian will be the one who would be fighting oscar for the CAM role.
  11. says the guy who has been saying literally the same thing 10 times a day in the turan thread.
  12. i have given the time distribution of oscar and the rest of the players. i believe me, these are the only players i checked for. if i do for iva i am damn sure i will get a very great number than oscar. this oscar has been overplayed theory in itself is flawed. so you are telling me that the 300-400 minutes that oscar played more than willian in the WC were so damaging to his body that he he had 5 bad months? there are exceptions to a theory. but a theory should atleast be correctly applied. using sleep deprivation to prove a point about oscar's continous poor showing is a poor analogy. oscar plays as much as any other pro footballer. a 100 more minutes here or there with the national team should not make him poor.
  13. how am i supposed to understand 2 different theories regarding the same thing. apparently oscar's is physically exhausted, so he can only take his body to the halfway point and then it fails. no, no.. its the lack of pre-season conditioning in which he is getting rest (which he should since his body is so completely over worked) that he affects him in jan? also, the latter part is your theory, and does not explain willian at all. why did he have an average first half and a fab second. these are some of the playing time stats that i got. it does not include internationals. oscar willian hazard JT Matic14-15 2,794 3244 4430 4470 414913-14 3,124 3330 3904 4085 351112-13 4,177 2,654 4513 2165 3896total 10095 9228 12847 10720 11556 since, oscar joined chelsea, he has had less game time than JT. i am sorry but these excuses need to stop.
  14. willian had as much of a pre-season as oscar did. your theory fails right there. it makes no sense what so ever. just another lousy excuse concerning oscar. oscar is not unfit. he is a professional footballer. read what "clockwork" wrote. it is completely different to yor argument. you use "conditioning" as an excuse while he uses physically drained as an excuse. are you saying that on his 2 weeks off, oscar just lies around on a barcalounger, doing nothing. i am sure thats not the case. he is a pro, and i am pretty sure he would be taking care of his body.
  15. lol... but he does get time off. he got as much time off as any brazilian or german. if this theory stands then why dint the same thing happen with willian? how did willian play average in the first half and then was mind blowing in the second? was he on drugs?
  16. i am sorry but that makes no sense to me at all. people say oscar has been "overworked". that his poor form is down to getting drained physically to last a season. now this has taken a new spin that the 2 weeks his gets off, is actually the reason that affect 5 months of his season. and that too 6 months later after the couple of weeks. whats weirder is that, if this is so common a knowledge, we must have a shit medical and support staff that we cant find a way to condition oscar's body... did willian have a pre-season? should not he have faced the same symptoms?
  17. what? so the lack of pre season in june and july affects oscar form in jan? 6months later. that has got to be the weirdest theories i have heard. and thats saying a lot when talking about oscar.n
  18. huh? a player who does not have a pre-season, is normally slow off the blocks at the start of the season. not many training sessions and game time with the new guys, the chemistry, the wavelength. pretty simple actually.
  19. then, his start of the season should be poor. but surprisingly, its actually his second half of the season which sucks. does not make sense to me.
  20. 3 years of the same shit excuse. yes, oscar's the only one who runs on the field. oscar's the only one who went to the WC. absolutely LOL-max.
  21. wait a minute? who quoted who to begin with??? just to jog the memory http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/17515-mohamed-salah/?p=1112942...yup people should read the thread...
  22. i thought you would be happy with this. infact very happy. a loan. if we had bought lacazette/benteke there was no way bamford/solanke would have made thru.
  23. people actually comparing arda to oscar cant possibly have seen la liga. if they have, then they are plain stupid and dumb.
