honestly speaking, the people who used arda's age as a reason should not be given a second thought. as for people wanking over vidal and critisizing arda, i think thats simply cos vidal was a CL runner up this year. if these rumors were last year, we would have seen a different trend. just the way people work.

fair enough. but remember, we won the league last year in june itself. our transfer window was so awesome and immaculate that we had a massive massive head start over any of our rival(s). this year, we seem to be doing what city did last year. admitedly, the situations are very different with city being a team of 30 year olds while ours being a pretty young one (atleast in the attack and mid). players like willian, oscar, cesc have scope of improvement/growth while players like yaya did not. but i would have liked us to address our issues (atleast a CM/RW) one early on. get settled and have another go.

cos he did not want to be a bench warmer while being the top5 keeper in the world, not that hard to comprehend. as for FFP and balancing the books cech normally costs us 5mil, his 11mil transfer fee makes it +6mil. if we buy begovic for 8mil for a 4 year contract, while paying him 4mil (80kpw), he would end up costing us 6mil. in short we will be gaining 5mil on the FFP books.

i think the reason why none of the chelsea youth/loanees can ever amount to much in our team would be cos we hype them so much. RLC was apparently good enough to replace rambo. pasalic is good enough to replace our 70th minute whistle. mikel might not be the best 2nd choice DM but he has a lot of utility as we saw last season. the number of 1 goal wins we had last season was tremendous and his 10-20 minute cameos are not a thing to be overlooked so easily.

a squad needs to improve every season. it needs to get better. normally the answer has been to throw money at the problem. we are using a different approach this season. seems our starting 11 is going to be exactly the same for next season as well. where can we see this improvement for next season? hazard, matic, costa, JT,azpi, thibo - had an awesome season, would be hard to top it. cesc,iva,willian - a good season. but definite scope of improvement. GC,oscar - very average season. a massive scope of improvement (maybe we can put willian in the second category). GC - i would not hold my breath. he had a good second half of the season when we played deep. playing a high line and as an aggressive CB is not his game. willian - like GC, he had a brilliant second half. outside of hazard, he was probably one of our best players in 2015. looked like a 32mil player. but still, his limitations are evident. not a goal scorer. cesc - 20 odd assists seem awesome but his jekyl and hyde performances were still there. consistency and a lot of improvement in big games. iva - evident for all to see. yet jose wont drop him. i dont expect a "better" season. lastly, OSCAR - he needs to be the difference. he needs to be like a new signing. the pressure will definitely be on him. he has nothing to hide behind now. needs to put in performances according to his "world class" potential. of what i have seen off oscar so far, nothing says that he will be standing upto the expectations from him for the next season. for me, its a mistake by jose. lets hope i am wrong and jose is right, about oscar. lets hope he does have the "hazard-like" renaissance next season. otherwise, we ll be in some trouble.

we seem directionless cos even if we have "identified" our targets, we are barely doing anything about it. i can say "directionless" cos we all know that we are one marquee signing away from becoming world beaters. yet, we seem to be "linked" with x,y,z players. ATM sold mandzukic, they are not selling turan/antoine unless its OTT. these "links" or "targets" are useless. except for falcao, we seem to be nowhere near a target, which normaly fans are very very aware of.

seems jose was not kidding about just "1 or 2 players". falcao will replace DD. begovic/green/someone will replace cech. infact most of all deals seem to be replacements (baba/toby for luis etc) rather than buys to improve our squad strength which was very poor last season. lets hope we dont get critical injuries. we wont be getting pogba cos juve will be stupid to sell a player they can sell to many other teams in the world for more money (city, RM, barca) and not get a player they want for him (oscar). jose's putting all his eggs in oscar's basket. lets hope it does not end up costing us massively.

really? costa was a done deal in march last year. everyone remotely related to chelsea knew that he was our target. as was luis. cesc was the only player who came right out of the blue due to the circumstances of barca buying rakitic and not wanting cesc. even then, most of us knew weeks before we got him. then we can say rooney, and schurrle and etc etc. most of chelsea's transfer dealings and the players we are specifically interested in are known all around (like falcao). unfortunately none of the players we are "heavily linked" to solve our most obvious problems. city got beat in the CM department. they needed a CM and got a 37 year old lamps. so even if the people on here seem uptight, i dont think thats without a cause. we seem directionless at the moment, which is one thing you would not expect from jose.

we seem like man city last season at this moment of time. getting linked with random and all players. looking like we have no clue as to whom we would want to buy. not solving any of the key areas of necessity (RW, CM). all in all, while it was to be expected that we wont be as dominant as the previous summer window, still the directionlessness seems worrying. also, can we stop buying random brazilians!!!

i see people are still on coutinho and firmino. oscar does not play for liverpool. liverpool barely came 6th, chelsea were the champions and need to continue on that path. on the other hand, who can possibly be replaced in our current starting 11 considering we buy a RW (reus) or a CM (pogba)? cesc? willian? hazard? matic? oscar is way below on our priority list when compared to the rest of our 4 midfielders.
