precisely my point in the first post where i asked HOW?either lamps or tiago will be in the squad, having both makes no sense. and that was my main point. they simply cant be independent. as for rambo, he had a hopeless second half of the season and but he is still a beast. our home match against city in which he literally kept toure in his pocket is proof enough. but i agree on u saying rambo as a season long CM is not good enough, but the C list u provided a post or 2 before would make him exactly that. in my opinion, rambo as a 3rd choice CM would be perfect. as for purchasing a WC CM wont get us right up there, think what not purchasing a WC CM would do. a season full of a broken pivot as u said!!!
-
^this. lamps is a legend but this obsession is insane. people want lamps to get a contract extension even if it means us being in a worse position than last season in terms of CM options. what i find funnier is people actually want to buy a new CB like varane/benatia to replace luiz when he has already being replaced by zouma but they dont want a new CM!!!!
-
so because one vidal would not make us one of the best teams in the world, we should simply go into the season with CM options of matic, rambo, mvg, tiago and lamps??? i seriously dont understand what u r trying to say. i mean do u actually WANT nad THINK that jose would go into the season with those 5 as our CM options. also, i dont think we need more than 2 CM to make us one of the best teams in the world. rambo would be a brilliant 3rd option CM but to have him starting all of the games and play 90% of the minutes possible is where the problem lies. i think even 1 WC CM would make us a much better team and right up there with the best.
-
It might not be world class but atleast 10 times better than having 2 33+ year olds as squad options and a 21 year old mvg who barely played anything last season along with a first team pairing of rambo-matic. Its like we will be replacing luiz and mikel from last season with mvg and tiago. Is that even an upgrade. Luiz's dynamism was important and mikel was good in closing games and while defending deep. A player-x namely vidal would make us one of the best teams. A first team pivot of matic-vidal or a 3 man midfield against big teams of vidal-matic-rambo would probably be brilliant. Lamps is a legend and no one in his right mind would say anything else. But the obsession of lamps to stay another year and go out on a high might end up costing us rather than helping us. We should be looking to better the squad and our options from previous year, which having tiago and lamps simply doea not.
-
matic, rambo, TIAGO, mvg, LAMPS. i dont think jose will even consider going into the season with these options. nothing short of suicide in my opinion.
-
neither koke nor pogba are worth 50mil. we can get a lars bender for close to 20mil. he is quite good. defensively is sound. workrate is great. technically he is not as good as those too but a definite improvement on rambo.
-
so basically ATM will lose costa, thobaut, luis, thiago, koke and probably miranda. shame!!!!! good for us though!!!
-
and how just jose show balls exactly? should he insist on some team to buy a useless striker for a huge wage of 10mil a year? do u even know the financial impact of a torres sale. if a team buys him even for 10 bloody million (who the F do u think would do that), we still lose 8mil on that sale thru FFP. add to that the fact that no team in the world would want to pay his massive 10mil a year salary, we ourselves would have to compensate some of it, which just add to the losses already. so what exactly should JOSE do here!!! really want to know!!!!
-
just going by this season. dont know what he did the season before to get a value of 34mil. but this season he has been a piece of shit!!!! would rather hope for mvg to get that oppurtunity.

32 of his goals have come in PL in 74 appearances. a very good return for any striker. he is the 3rd highest goal scorer in PL in the last 2 seasons. or rather in terms of minutes, he has played 4766 minutes to score his 32 goals which is 149 minutes per goal (which includes his 10 appearances for chelsea too) rooney's 44 goals in PL came in 132 appeareances. 2002-03 :1610 2003-04: 2442 2004-05: 2182 2005-06: 3072 an overall of 9306 minutes for 42 goals (since his last 2 goals may have come in 06-07 season where he turned 21) at an average of 221 minutes per goal. the stat even for PL is as good as it gets for romelu. for messi 2004-05 : 82 (1) 2005-06 : 909 (6) 2006-07 : 1995 (14) 2007-08 : 1998 (10) 2008-09: 2513 (23) which means a total of 54 goals in 7497 minutes at an average of 139 minutes per goal which is better than lukaku's 149 minutes per goal but since the comparision is with the world's best player, we can probably give him that leeway. lukaku has performed at every stage that he has been given. he has scored goals and played well whenever called upon. saying "most of his goals were in the belgian league" is a slap to his acheivement. @skipper - half of his goals would be in the belgian league but even if we take them out, he still has a fabulous record. leading a team like anderlecht at an age of 16 and 17 is no small task. he even scored goals for them and that is what caught our eye.
-
just found this stat. dont know how true - number of league goals scored when turning 21 years old rooney - 44 owen - 55 messi - 57 lukaku - 65 still people think he is not ready.
-
25 £ mil??? Seriously? Whetr did this quote come from. Sign him up if that's true.
-
it should not need a hat-trick from lukaku in a friendly match with belgium to make people say "he is ready". but since that is the exact thing that is happening, i feel there is something wrong with this forum. lukaku has been ready to play for us for a year now. his stint in wba showed he had what it takes. his stint at everton just confirmed it.

this would be mine.
-
you should really watch a couple of RM matches. the team was being carried by modric and maria. their heart and soul.
-
we had 6 defenders this season GC, JT, iva, azpi, DL and AC for the next season, u can expect more or less the same CBs - JT, GC, iva, zouma RBs - azpi, iva LBs - newLB (shaw/moreno/RR), azpi with a couple of youth/squad players providing cover. probably pva and ake/kalas/christensen.
-
And the idiotism is strong with this one. So tell me how exactly jose's team in RM struggled with playing attacking football despite the fact that they scored more than a 100 goals. Were all those goals on the counter??? Now lets take a look at jose in the CL 2010-inter milan win 2011- RM semi with a fiasco of a match against barca 2012- RM seni. Lost on penalties 2013- RM semi. Very poor first leg from josr and the players. Could have overturned the 4-1 deficit within first 10 minutes if not for higuain's poor finishing. 2014- Chelsea semi without a decent striker after we got knocked out of the group stages last season. Yet somehow this ACHIEVEMENT is being used against jose. What a
-
hahahah... no way in hell. he is out of favor, wants out and with rakitic seemingly going to RM, even RM might want to offload him. nothing more than 15-20mil. also, not the player we need. we have rambo. our first options should be pogba/vidal.
-
i dont want to challenge the strat here but just want to point out that 30mil euros for oscar is massively under pricing him.
-
my posts were about these people. specially about people who are comparing torres and costa. torres was a panic buy. a very very poor panic buy. he was already on the decline. mean while our board and manager have accessed the situation here and come to the conclusion that costa is the best man available. i would trust their judgement than these posters.
-
When some of us voiced similar concerns prior to the torres signing, they told us "class is permanent" Even if they are different it's still wise to conduct thorough risk assessment before committing to £32m investment.with our recent history with strikers, you can never be too cautious. I pray to God we dont sign this guy. and these are just going to the last page are reading 5/6 posts. these are people who just barely dont want to announce the signing tomorrow??? i dont think so? jose is one of the most successful manager in the world. our board has done some fabulous work in the market in the past 3 years. if they annoiunce the costa signing tomorrow, u can be 100% sure that they would have done the ground work. also what hamstring injury of torres. obviuolsy i dont remember anything about torres' career cos i simply cant care but going thru the stats, it seemes torres just had major knee problems. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fernando-torres/verletzungen/spieler/7767
-
the context is NOT similar. people are being STUPID not paranoid. a hamstring vs a recursive knee injury is like comparing apples and oranges. costa is nothing like torres as a player. NOTHING.
-
so from now on, every striker signing will be started with "what if he does a torres". brilliant. judge a signing on what torres has done rather than seeing for urself how different the players are in style, fight, passion and almost every bloody sense. some posters footballing knowldge is exactly 0.
-
great. 5 points are going to be dropped next season(qpr).
