not the time or the match to give someone a chance. also, i definitely doubt about "deserve". schurrle's performance dint deserve anything. we have a game against watford plus a league cup semi against pool. if we want to take a chance, that will be the time.

its a weird move to make from our perspective (FFP-wise). the last season we included the sales of mata. kdb and luiz and yet got a profit of "only" 20 million pounds. torres cost us 18mil last season (amortized fee + salary) and i think he would cost us about the same amount this season too compared to 9mil if he was just loaned out. anyways transfermarkt is showing his fee to be around 3mil euros. though i cant find a single source anywhere to confirm it. anyone have any idea about it.

we bought him for 1 mil euro. we got 1.5mil euro for the loan fee and might get another 8 for the transfer fee. a brilliant deal for another AM/LW who does not seem to have much of a future with us.

you missed, sidelining sturridge, letting go of DD, selling anelka, loaning out lukaku so that torres can get all the play time.

tbh, i dont think anyone is overrating bertrand. he was a good back up and the amount of time luis has played, i think bertrand could have filled that role easily

this is a completely different issue from lukaku. lukaku had not played for us, ryan has. and he has been good whenever he has been told to step in for cole. also, why does he have to be exceptional? he is a good left back, solid in defence, brilliant workrate and can lend a hand in attack as he is showing at soton. i dont remember a single performance of ryan's that i can say was below par. obviously ryan being english is a major point. people keep yammering about youth and this guy is a club trained player who fits the bill perfectly. he would have been a brilliant squad player. wait scratch that, he already has been a brilliant squad player for us. 16mil for a 29 year old who is stuggling to cope in PL and is being used as a back up left back is not really the best decision that jose has made. as for not making a point about defnding bertrand last season, call back TOPTB and ask him what i thought about his loan. bertrand deserved to have been started ahead of cole last season after the kind of performances cole put in the start of the season. yet we persisted with cole and then dint even given bertrand any chance. also why does torres have to be the benchmark in everythin. bamford is better than torres, i am better than torres, does that mean every aspect of the game is perfect. i remember jose saying a couple of pressers or pre-match ago that diego is still settling to a new style of play from ATM where he has to be better technically. and that is true. diego is a brilliant striker but we dont have to turn a blind eye to his faults. when you hear people crib match after match about "why is not luis starting", "why did we buy him" and yada yada yada.. this is why, cos azpi is a much much better defender. how is that a nonsense comparision. if we had CR in our team, and people kept cribbing about watching EH play on the LW, THAT IS A NONSENSICAL thing. simply cos he is a much better player. and that is why azpi starts over luis.

30millions? i thought his transfer fee was 16mil. but in hindsight, and specially consdering how good bertrand has been, we did waste money on him. azpi is not of the best but simply the best LB in PL at this moment.so luis is not getting ahead of him anytime soon. defensively he is levels below azpi, which is the primary aspect of a defender.

hmmm. june 19, 1991. he and i share the same birthdate (year and all included). well thats my extent of knowledge about him. what type of a striker is he? strengths/weaknesses etc etc. i mean we have costa/remy/DD with bamford out on loan. also 7mil is a lot of money for a player to just be bought to send on loans. also he is already 23, so dont think this one would be a buy for loans. definitely we must see something in him.

bvb players do a lot of off the ball pressing. or rather they used to. have watched them about 4 or 5 times this season, and they seem totally un motivated.

i think they did. i mean i saw the post match show of andy townsend and he totally stuck up for us and cesc. infact right after the game and even before the jose pre-match came out, he said the exact thing that the ref's decision to book cesc was premeditated.

very poor. all his good performances have come in europe for us. seems like he still has not settled well in PL. i will be shocked if he is in the squad for spurs and also that if this continues, he wont be a part of our squad next year. he is a pretty good player and seems to have a massive rep in bundesliga. so we wont be short of offers.

wow, this thread is pretty quite. if JT had made a tackle which GC made in the first half to stop mane from being thru on goal, then we would have been jizzing all over. good performance. probably the only defender out of the back 4 that can hold his head up high.

people sometimes forget that football is a very very very unpredictable game. things can change within minutes. 60 minutes ago, we were cribbing and i think i saw a couple of comments already ruling us out as eventual champions. teams will drop points. luck will swing this way and that. i mean today cesc slipped when we got behind them, costa slipped when he was thru on a back pass, a soton defender cleared with the ball hitting another defending and falling right in the palms of forster when it could have gone anywhere. we were unlucky in a lot of things today. DD twice was inches away from scoring, once when forster came off his line and he (i think) did get some touch and the second one when he tried that back flick. there were so many chances (not to say that we were good, luis, iva, JT all had crappers) but to say it was a bad performance is laughable.
