totally agree with you on the CB concern. need a WC one. but the point is who? we were linked with pique who himself sucks. otamendi has been brilliant this season. so lets see. jose has set us up to play in a certain way and i doubt he would change the whole formation and our style of play. also, jose has insisted many times that oscar is a no.10. doubt he will shift him on the wings. i personally would love a pogba/vidal and revert back to 4-3-3. but simply dont think thats a reality. so with the current formation and happenings, we really need a RW and since reus is a possiblity, we should be looking to get him.
-
precisely. martinez has not played consistent football for sometime and even last season, he played more as a CB than a DM. mascherano played only the WC as a DM so its just not fair to judge on a tournament. so currently matic is the best DM in the world.

this is the january transfer window thread. when you dont specify, people are going to take for the aid window. and even next window, strikers should be the least of our concerns. costa, remy and bamford are more than good enough. AM is still an area of concern. we drew against sunderland, and soton cos of lack of chances created. schurrle got owned by a 19 year old left back who was making his debut. willian's end product is generally shambolic. oscar provides balance to the team but not a lot of creativity which is required to break a proper defence. a RW is as necessary as a CB at the moment. the CM situation is pretty much under control and good with the current options of matic, cesc, rambo and mikel that we have. also, we have to consider the fee pogba would cost. a 40/50mil signing compared to say, a 20mil signing of reus if possible, is a no brainer.
-
and do it begins. the false hope, the general upheaval around him but on the pitch he is going to be crap as always.
-
my name is didierforever (i hope that is not an issue with you). and i ask the same question. who is the best DM in the world currently or who is a better DM that matic at the moment.
-
what has happened to him is just weird. simply seems to have lost all confidence.
-
why do we need a back up striker? remy has shown in whatever amount of time he has got that he is more than good enough. what we need is a proper RW to take off the load from hazard. pogba-matic in the pivot would be just out of this world and would mean cesc shifted to no.10 with oscar out of the team. but on the other hand, a hazard-oscar/willian-RW, with a pivot of cesc and matic is a world beater team too. our priority should be a proper RW.
-
did people even see soton vs arsenal? koscielny and world class, 2 things i never thought i would read together. grass is greener effect at its best.
-
good strong line up!!! hope schurrle kick starts his chelsea career. a goal atleast.
-
line ups? when is the match? i thought it started in an hour but the TC timer says its in 2 hours.
-
have you seen any football programs? take any edition of MOTD, for instance, and watch it to know what people think of him outside chelsea.
-
just shift ake back as a CB and zouma out wide at RB and rambo in the mid and i will be happy.
-
oh.. that ways. then i totally agree. infact i was glad he dint play. i mean i saw a couple of posts saying that the soton draw was his fault, i can only imagine what would have happened to him if he was on the pitch against spurs.
-
WHAT? i can guarantee you that with mikel starting alongside matic we would not have conceded more than 2 goals if that.
-
whats with all the negativity. i know the defeat to spurs is hard to take but did not expect all these comments from you dude. ps- i expect jose to give our players a rest. more mentally than physically. no need to go into this match with a "we-got-a-point-to-prove" mentality. we know how good we are, and just need to relax. also this month is another massive month with big fixtures. newcastle, swans, poolx2, city. so need to preserve players.
-
rambo and mikel have that effect on people. i am actually suprised that no one so far has said that mikel is to blame for yesterday's debacle.
-
dint deserve to be on the side that got destroyed in the way we got last night!!!
-
bingo!!! its actually like "fans" were just waiting for our players to slip and are now on a rampage to destroy each one of them. disgusting behaviour.
-
dont care. seriously. lets just give the team a 10 day period to re group themselves. even if we lose this, wont be the end of the world.
-
And why exactly is that so? Did GC have no contribution when just like week he put in a brilliant performance against soton? Those stats we have accumulated are down to every member of the team. Today's loss is on GC, definitely. That penalty just before the HT turned the game, but saying he has been poor for a year is a laughable opinion and the exact case of scapegoating.
-
Ok. Then lets smell the coffee. We have had 2 horrible defensive performances, against everton and spurs. In which we have conceded 8 goals, in the rest 18 games, we have conceded a total of 11 (shocking) goals. What a terrible defender GC must be that we have such a record. Hmmmm.. makes u wonder does not it!!! I mean I am sure GC had no good part to play in any of those performances and it was all on JT and a 20 year old zouma who has barely had minutes of PL games. Add to that the fact that these stats have come when we habe been playing a pretty expansive brand football in which he has hardlt been baby sit!!!
-
RM being the etam that lost a 2-0 lead to real sociedad and ended losing the match 4-2? boateng-benatia are without a doubt a brilliant combo but you can point out the city game at etihad as a massicve fuck up. evry defence has an off day. individually GC was appaling but so was iva, so was JT, so was matic, and cesc both of whom dint provide any cover to the defence what so ever. i mean i still dont know where matic and cesc were for the first goal and how neither of them were in and around kane.
-
the best partnership on whom we have built our whole attack and team. and tell me which team does not have 5 other midfielders defending and helping the defence? what football is that?
-
and thats the credit that is due to the player who made one half of the best CB partnership in the world last season. and since, now i know your awesome opinion of someone who had helped us concede just 14 goals in 19 PL game before this train wreck of a performance, i would rather trust a CL winning manager on how good a player is!!!
