  1. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2472458,00.html If you watch this, they talk a lot about moving stadiums, not about the actual Chelsea Pitch Owners and the way Cundy talks it seems like he (a club insider who works daily with the club) seems more or less resigned to the fact that we are leaving. if the club were true to their word that they are not looking at another place to build a stadium then why would the interview be so focused about how we have enjoyed our last 106 years at the Bridge but we need to remain competitive? Come on Chelsea, just admit it, we know you are looking at alternative sites and may even already have one
  2. Not sure if it is entirely related, but AFL architects (who have worked with us to refurbish the East Stand and West stand) and designed Cobham training ground have also designed a stadium for an un named client. It looks like this: Not sure if the fact that they have worked so closely with us in the past could have anything to do with it. It could be our future stadium. They are fairly high profile as well, having worked with Manchester United, Rio 2016 Olympics and Liverpool
  3. If you knew about our beginnings as a football club you would realise that we were founded because of Stamford Bridge, not the other way around like every other club. Therefore we have a much stronger connection to our stadium than other teams
  4. Wembley can only hold around 20 events per year or something due to some restrictions. It is too far away from the Bridge too, and the seats are red!
  5. I think that is very unlikely. Where would we play and fit a suitable number of supporters while the building work is taking place? The railways behind the East and MH stands would still be there There would still only be 1 exit onto Fulham Road The Shed and MH would need to be completely rebuilt to contain player facilities, executive boxes etc. that you find on a length ways stand would the stadium really be much bigger for millions of pounds of rebuilding on the same site. The whole area in which we are located is not a square and however hard I try I cannot see how the stadium would be bigger if we turned it 90 degrees
  6. what a legend. Would never have got Ancelotti, Scolari or Grant on a motorbike in the Dakar Rally
  7. Like Terry 07 said, it was an impressive performance but we do also have to look at how poor Bolton were. 2 goals should have been saved by their goalkeeper. However, what I did find very encouraging was the tempo of our play. We moved the ball very quickly into effective positions and for long spells dominated possession. At one point we had 75% I think. Our fast start was also crucial in my opinion. it seems that as a general rule, when we start quickly we win by a more convincing scoreline. In all of these games we scored within the first 10 minutes: Bolton 1-5 Chelsea Chelsea 4-0 Blackpool Chelsea 6-0 Wigan Chelsea 3-1 Birmingham West Ham 1-3 Chelsea Chelsea 8-0 Wigan Chelsea 5-0 Watford Chelsea 7-2 Sunderland
  8. If he can stay clear of injuries he would be a great signing in my opinion. He could play as an attacking midfielder which would allow Mata to push out wide instead of having to work as a midfielder at times. Ramires- Ganso- McEachran Now thats what I call a midfield in a few years
  9. Good for him. He shut up the pro-United media and showed them that he still has a major part to play at this club. I would not rush him straight back into the first XI though because it was only 1 game. Still, if he impresses as a substitute then I do not see why he could not regain his place.
  10. I have always tried to defend Kalou but last night was the last straw. What he did was utterly stupid and it shows lack of respect to the team to do something so stupid so late on. People point out the good things he has done like: Last minute header vs Watford in the FA Cup Very good goal vs Birmingham last season Tap in vs Spurs last season apart from those 3 he pops up with the odd goal but we could have somebody else do that job as well as be twice the player he is. As people have pointed out he has not improved since coming here and has frustrated the hell out of people with his dreadful first touch, selfishness, pure stupidity (the number of times he has dribbled the ball off the pitch is beyond me) and often incredible misses. Does this bring back any memories? I hate slating players which play for our club but he just does not cut it!
  11. Countering with Mikel, Lampard and Malouda will be about as effective as trying to chop off someone's head off with a feather.
  12. Hate those scouse twats. Have always been so lucky against us. Hopefully we will smash them and get Aldershot in the next round
  13. If we are from all around the world why not see if we can compete in that tournament for supporter clubs at Cobham in the summer?
  14. Left wing back. Im like most modern day full backs: Shit at defending and better going forward. I play as a winger for some games because our other winger is quite slow and I am much quicker. I have been known to play centre-back (where I played when I first started playing football) and centre-mid
  15. I will admit now that I bought one of those last year but as a joke. It was a present for someone in my class at school who does not have a neck. His head is practically stuck onto the top of his chest.
  16. Sorry to sound a bit of a pessimist but that was our B side which only just beat Fulham's B side. Is our youth really that great?
  17. Cech Bosingwa Terry Luiz Cole Romeu Meireles Ramires Mata Torres Anelka
  18. After last nights performance I'd say that he is more or less world class
  19. Bertrand: Played very well I thought. Was always looking a threat down the left side and did well in defence too. Romeu: This guy looks very good. Made 2 great tackles in our own penalty area in the first half, looks unbelievably calm on the ball, great at passing too. Looks like an excellent all round midfielder. McEachran: Excellent again. Always looked a threat going forward. Was unlucky not to have scored in the first half, passing was brilliant as ever and he seems to have developed some very quick feet which he used to his advantage Sturridge: Nothing special at all. Crossing let him down time after time, did not get too involved much. He does have an irritating habit of shooting from range when a clear pass is available (rather like Malouda). Lukaku: I am on the fence with this guy. On one hand his crossing was the worst I have ever seen (no exaggeration), he did not look fit enough as well. On the other hand, our game plan seemed to revolve around lumping it up to an 18 year old with pressure on him being tipped as the new Drogba. He is quickly closed down by the Fulham defenders and most times loses the ball because Kalou, Sturridge and Malouda did not support him quick enough
  20. Cech Ferreira Ivanovic Luiz Bertrand Mikel Romeu McEachran Anelka Sturridge Lukaku
  21. Real Vallecano have started quite well. Granada, Gijon and Getafe are my favourites for relegation
  22. Cole was up against Nani who is in the form of his life. It has always been clear that Cole and Bosingwa are not great defenders but offer a lot going forward. We have not really seen much of Bertrand in a Chelsea shirt so it is difficult to judge him much (particularly against Birmingham in April who lets be honest are hardly a threat down the wings) I rate Bertrand a lot higher than Van Aanholt though who cannot defend to save his life. We should give him a full 90 against Fulham midweek and maybe the last 10 or so against Swansea depending on the score
  23. :goodpost: or we could defend him when he gets through on goal from Anderson for not getting good enough service from midfield
