As you said, we could play that way against the smaller sides who park the bus, but against the big sides we need a two man midfield. Also Liverpool don't play in a 4-4-2, same with City. Suarez does a lot of the work while Sturridge stays forward, same with Aguero and Negredo. The good thing about this signing is that Costa can play as a second striker, he works extremely hard for the team, especially last season when he did all the dirty work for Falcao.

So did someone actually say Oscar may want to leave if we sell Luiz? Their friends big deal, he has a family and is settled in London... if he does want to leave than i say it's for the better, we cannot afford to have someone with that mentality. I get what you're saying but the winger HAS to track the fullback. Atelitco' fullbacks always push up, Hazard and Azpi both had to track back with them, for the first goal Hazard did, but he got caught ball watching rather than watching his man. There's no excuse, look at Bale for Madrid in both matches against Bayern, he was basically a LB. Although saying that i personally thought attacking-wise he was our best player, he was the only one beating his man and trying to at least create something.

People are forgetting the type of players Atletico have in midfield, they play with grit, determination, but above all they are great on the ball. Our midfield struggle to pass the ball forward and when the opposition press they seem to panic... If we had Matic-Modric in midfield we'll be able to keep the ball so much better. In this 'football manger era' people always want to talk tactics, i'm sorry but it also comes down to personnel, i would love to see Pep try and make Luiz-Ramires keep possession in tight areas. There's a reason why one of his first signings for Bayern was Thiago...

On sky they mentioned that in 6 matches (home and away) in the SF Mourinho's Chelsea have only scored 2 goals, as someone said earlier, he may have to be a bit more adventurous next time. It's understandable why we were so defensive in the 1st leg, as he said before we're a team that has to focus on clean sheets because we don't have any prolific scorers.

Disappointing result, but Atletico were fantastic especially in the second half,. They can drop deep and defend as well as keep possession with ease, very balanced side. As i said i'm disappointed but we'll be back, out of all the semi's this will be the easiest to get over, we haven't lost due to a controversial decision or any other BS, we just have to hold our hands up and admit we weren't good enough.
