  1. Jake Cohen ‏@JakeFCohen 4m Based on reported £48m fee from sale of David Luiz to PSG, Chelsea records a £41.1m profit on 14-15 books. Get ready for big spending. #cfc
  2. Telegraph are normally reliable, not as much as The Guardian but close. BBC and The Guardian say £40 million, Sky and Telegraph say £50 million... take your pick.
  3. Why would Hazard want to go back to Ligue 1? he has bigger fish to fry. Also the reason we sold Luiz to you was because he was essentially a squad player or a makeshift Midfielder (also the money was crazy as well). Hazard is our number one player, unless you offer something obscene like 80-100 million, no chance.
  4. Aww poor you, grow up. That's the second time someone made that point, why cant you be happy about the deal? it means we can spend big in the summer without worrying about FFP. It's like saying why celebrate if we win a trophy or buy a player...we support the club ffs, it's better than being a fucking bore like yourself. Arsenal sell their best players, we don't. Jose obviously didn't fancy Luiz and Mata, so why not sell them and replace them with players who can improve us as a team and make us more competitive and balanced. He can suddenly turn into Beckenbauer still doesn't change the fact that 40-50 million for a defender is a great deal. If we keep him he's going to play in midfield, do you honestly want that? he's been good in the big games but we need a world class midfielder alongside Matic, not a makeshift one.
  5. The Chelsea board right now
  6. Luiz should thank his PR team, he's one of the most marketable players in the world. The way he looks, his personality and the fact that he's one of the faces of the World cup makes his value go up by 20-30 million... realistically he should cost in the region of £25 million. Honestly though, Luiz going for £50million...
  7. Barcelona apparently want Marquinhos, Psg can sell him for a hefty price (considering how much they've spent on him), so they can get Luiz if they want him. Honestly though, what a great fucking deal for us.
  8. Luiz had the potential to be one of the best players but that never really materialised, when we first singed him we all made excuses saying his inconsistencies was down to the fact he's young and new to the league... now three years later he hasn't really progressed. I went on Redcafe just to see what they were saying and they all cannot believe we're getting that much for him, one member even said this deal may be bent
  9. I like the fact that we now sell players for huge profit, a few years ago we constantly bought players for huge fees and sell the ones we do not want on the cheap.
  10. Good saves but he does seem to parry shots straight instead of pushing them away from danger, thats something he needs to work on imo. I do think he should be our keeper next season but tbh i feel for Cech, this comments don't really help.
  11. Yaya's game does rely on pace and power, as you said he is a physical freak, i very much doubt in two or three years time he'll be able to consistently run from box to box. Players who normally play until their late 30's are the ones who rely more on their technical ability rather than physical traits.
  12. He's 31 and on big wages, obviously he's one of their best players but how long will he be able to keep up that form? no way will anyone pay £40 million for him. Man City will have to replace in him two or three years anyway so it wouldn't be the worst decision to get £25 million for him, they could buy someone like Vidal to replace him. It will also lower their wage bill, Vidal would probably be earning half of what Toure does.
  13. Midfield controls the game basically, when Jose first joined Chelsea many teams were still using the classic 4-4-2, while we played in the 4-3-3 formation, it meant we would have an extra man in midfield and we can control the game attacking wise and defensively. The next few years the 4-4-2 formation was rarely used and most if not all switched to the 4-3-3 formation including Sir Alex Ferguson. Now this season especially in the PL the top teams play two strikers, the main difference is they don't use the classic 4-4-2 formation, take Liverpool for example, Sturridge is the main striker while Suarez is the workhorse who can drift and interchange. Mourino went more indepth about the 4-3-3 formation years ago -
  14. But this season with his goal scoring don't you think he should play in the n.10 role?
  15. To be fair £30 million is far too much, with FFP United can splash the cash while we have to be more cautious...
  16. Hazard wont take a step back and return to Ligue 1, he says he wants to become a great in the game, that means he needs to play competitive games week in week out.
  17. Looks similar to the Arsenal away kit last season.
  18. Personally for me he was average at both, he gets beat far too easily against pacey/skillful players and going forward he doesn't have the skill to beat players, i never really got the hype with him. Regarding Shaw, my Avi is gone, so maybe i'll stop jinxing it?
  19. Didn't the manager of Twente recently say Van aanholt has to improve defensively? seriously if he is struggling to defend in the dutch league than he has no hope here...
  20. A lot of people here overrating Italy and Uruguay, Italy have been pretty poor lately and sure Uruguay have the likes of Suarez and Cavani but you do realise they have the likes of Coates at the back... Italy>England>Uraguary for me, England will get past the group stages, you can quote me on it. Now i'm not saying England are going to win it, far from it, but i do think we can get past the group stages, if not it'll be a massive disappointment. I don't want to sound like a patronising cunt, but It's good see some of the English lads here supporting the team, in this forum and twitter I've come across so many twats who hate England and only support their club... of course i may not like Gerrad, Rooney and co but when they're wearing the England kit i will support them.
  21. Apparently this season for Gala he has looked his age, maybe it's best for him just to come back in a coaching capacity? i mean if we're desperate for a third striker why not just keep Eto'o? I'm not sure he's still physically capable of bullying defenders, i think he'll be a good coach and mentor to Lukaku if he stays. This is what the dressing room needs though, Lampard, Drog, Cech, Terry, Cole (if he stays) and Mourinho, that winning mentality, leadership and more importantly all Chelsea legends. I honestly believe we need these players around to influence our younger players, look at Luiz and Mata for example, from day one Drog, Terry and Lampard taught them what it meant to play for Chelsea. Alright things didn't work out for them but it wasn't because they weren't passionate about this club, they have both said many times they want to become legends at this club. If Drogba wants to come back as a coach it will only a positive in my eyes, same with Lampard.
  22. This season he's been a central defender, that's where he has flourished in jagielka's absence.
  23. How come Belgium are producing so many great young players? Surely the English Fa can learn a thing or two from them.
