  1. Exactly, plus on top of that we've got Wallace and Ake who both can play that position. Cesar Azpilicueta is younger and better than Bertrand, he wouldn't have had a chance. Great bit of business.
  2. We won a point, they just lost two. 5 point gap still there, excellent given the terms we went into this game on the back of a 120 minute semi-final and losing 2 players to injury plus one suspension against Liverpool. Hope Willian's alright.
  3. I quit aswell, thanks for the intense competition for season in-season out. Top lad, top manager.
  4. What annoys me the most is the fact that every poster who has a different opinion on any matter will get banned or silenced sooner rather than later. This forum used to be the go-to-place to read long well written posts on football, politics and so on while now the most popular threads seem to be The Pub, "Alex owes us a dance" and Girls in Chelsea shirts, what the actual fuck? Mods are taking things way too personally and getting involved in arguments while their duty should be to avoid these kinds of internet-battles between two regular members, not getting involved themselves, prime example being Politics thread just now. Would it be hard to just let TOPTB for example just have his opinion and ignore him (while I do share many of his views) and just move on? Why take it so personally? Verbal warning to a permanent ban in a matter of days? Provocative and very unprofessional behaviour from the staff. Since when are people not allowed to have a differing opinion on something, be it politics, football, education and so on? Why do certain people feel the urge and need to try to CHANGE and prove someone's veiws WRONG all the time? Why can't they be and stay DIFFERENT? I think I'm making my point very clear.
  5. Couldn't have asked for a better window if Remy does join.
  6. Surely not. Why should we? If that was the case he'd be sitting on bench or in the reserves for 2 years. No point loaning him out for free.
  7. Sky Sports: The Milan Channel - AC Milan's official television station - is reporting tonight that Fernando Torres will arrive in Italy on Saturday morning to undergo a medical with the Rossoneri. It's claimed that the 30-year-old has agreed to the transfer, and has waived a payout he was owed by Chelsea in order to push it through.
  8. Welcome to TalkChelsea, friend! I don't think Torres is that bad at all. He has just lost lots of confidence ever since he joined Chelsea, lots of pressure and fans-media aren't helping either. Plus constant injures when he played for Liverpool. His main weapon was his speed and agility (look up Torres' goal vs United 3-4 years ago where he humiliated Rio Ferdinand) but after surgeries and hamstring injuries there's somekind of mental block for him, he has lost the self confidence.Problem with England is that the media has too much power, they can make a random player look like a worldwide super star (Lallana, Welbeck, Wilshere and so on) while slating a player for whatever they do and I'm afraid Torres is in the second category. Has he been rubbish for us? Absolutely, but he has also done well sometimes, which is widely ignored. I think moving to Italy is the best thing for him and and Chelsea, it will give him a new breathing. I think he will be good for you guys, form is temorary, class is permanent.
  9. Marin was signed because the club was making preparations for life in the Europa League. We needed new blood in badly and had we not won CL that year we'd be in a much different situation right now.
  10. All very true, but Arsenal, atleast for me, never came across as intelligent in the transfer market. Last time they had tons of cash they bought Özil (tons of potential but doing a Torres at the moment) and let Fabregas sign for us.
  11. Arsenal going through is more of a positive for Chelsea. Firstly they'll have extra competition to play in, meaning they'll have to divide their focus from the league plus let's face it with a display like tonight Arsenal won't make it too far either. And secondly Premier League's rating won't drop, meaning there'll be 4 UCL spots for English top division.
  12. Brilliant second half, Ivanovic and Courtois we're both worthy of MOTM. Willian was very sharp aswell, Oscar has to get his act together.
  13. Football, while a fun sport, is not that healthy and puts extreme stress on hips-knees and alot of freak-accidents can occur out of nothing. So I'd advise you to stay away from it for a little while. You say you've had a pause for quite some time, that means your body is not used to that kind of stress anymore. Our bodies are built in a way that they're as lazy as you let them be, they get used to stuff fast, thus even when training the workload must be changed every now and then to stimulate the muscle to get the results needed. Losing flexibility is normal and it has more to do with practicing flexibility and stuff like yoga, if you've done it before I see no reason why you couldn't do it again, it just takes time, patience and work. There's even a saying that one missed week of training will take two weeks to get to the same point before the break. That's bro-science of course not a scientific fact but the point remains valid. You describe getting injured easily, that's a sign from your body that you're over doing something. I'd say best bet for you is to take up for example bike riding and swimming, activities like that. They both put less stress on hip-joint and knees, especially swimming as you're in water and also works the whole body, especially shoulders and back. Be sure to check if you get enough carbs-protein-fat aswell daily (mostly people consume carbs of zero nutritional value thus gain weight while being in nutritional deficit and not getting the needed protein and so on). Please avoid any extreme diet plans (the word "diet" itself is largely misunderstood word. It doesn't mean eating only green stuff and two tomatoes a day, diet is any daily food in-take, your usual menu in essence.) Start slow, while your mind might be sharp and ready for a marathon, your body needs to adapt still and you can be sure it will come around, it just takes time. The thing that speaks for you is that you don't start from zero, you've got extensive training history and experience behind you. So start slow, give it time, eat, sleep and and don't make it a second job for you, it has to be enjoyable. That's the best advice I can think of right now man, all the best to you all the way to Belgium!
  14. But be persistent. Although I've been involved in medicine very little still as I'm still in med-school, then what I've learnt is that doctors usually discard or take patient's complaints lightly if the symptoms/description is vague and they can't detect something major with basic tests (might differ in Australia, our healthcare is free if you have insurance, in lot of places its very buyer(patient) and seller (doctor) type of relationship, the client is king there because more tests = more money for the healthcare facility). Go there as long as you've got a solution.
  15. Have you tried consulting with doctors to get it under control? Either way hope you'll get well!
  16. How's gym going everyone? All good? No injures? Working hard? Had my first jogging session few days ago after rupturing one of the tendons in my feet and having 3 weeks of cast, 4 weeks of elastic support bandage and crutches, feels great to again!
  17. There are channels that have certain influence from certain political parties (especially Tallinn TV and it's connection with the Central Party) but other than that pretty much an even playing field. Hard to compare Estonian media outlets with for example British giants, not an even scale. You're right though.
  18. Russia Today is a russian propagada channel funded by Russia.
  19. Biggest nonsense I've read in a long time, absolute RUBBISH. Most of the people looting and stealing are uneducated people who just are hypnotized by the possibility of free material things, they don't give a damn about the ruling system, let alone terms like "capitalism", "liberal marketing" and so on, in fact they don't even know what they mean most likely. They're barbarians who try to hide behind an excuse to justify it. Here's a question - if you were owner of one of the shops being looted, how would you feel? Throw stuff at them to help them fight "the Babylon capitalist system" and see your life's work and only income being destroyed before your eyes? There were similar riots in Estonia back in 2007, called "Bronze night" - look it up if interested, and it was supposedly about Estonian government removing a soviet statue from downtown Tallinn (capital of Estonia), which in essence was a statue for the Red Army who occupied, raped, robbed our land for so many years and statue like that had no place in the capital of Estonia, keep in mind we only just regained our independence in 1991. Let it be said that the statue wasn't destroyed but moved to a more remote place and is still there. Estonia has large population of russians. Huge majority of the rioters were russian speaking population, who don't speak Estonian, mostly uneducated, people who only get news through russian TV stations which are full of propaganda. How is stealing can of Coke and pack of tampons going to get their "message" across - it won't. They're robbers who have to be treated as one and brought to face justice in the court. This doesn't apply to every country but instead of commiting crimes and justifying it with total nonsense, those so called proletariats (as you call them, I'd stick with normal middle-class workers like myself) should get education and find the correct means to change things and be the voice of that group of people. Hatred only breed hatred. By rioting and being barbaric they're stuck in 360-degree deadly circle like the generations before them. It's time to break out of that and make a change.
  20. Brilliant display, especially the first half with absolutely stunning combinations and that's only the first game of the season, imagine when we get the "engine" going. Well done to everyone.
  21. Not the same thing at all. Mourinho is a world-class manager who will still be one of the best even at 40,50,60 years of age. Whereas Lampard is a club icon and has been the club's "face" for such a long time and at the age of 36 has little to offer footballing terms - though his influence in the dressing room and the experience he brings to the squad can't be underestimated. Wouldn't be easier and more respectful to spend the 6 months somewhere else and not upset majority of fanbase? Football is business but you'd expect that kind of mutual respect from a player like Lampard. Question is why City if it's only 6 months anyway? Only reason I can think of is that he still wants to get into England team. I do wish him well though, been a loyal servant of the club for such a long time, this move won't change much in my eyes. Managers change clubs all the time and top-top managers are hard to come by, especially as impressive record as Mourinho has in the Premier League and also in other clubs. So no, it'd be quite understandable (although strange) to see Mourinho as the manager of some of our direct rival club and I'd wish him well especially if we have a manager at our club who is doing well.
