  3. May he rest in peace. Top manager, top personality
  4. I got the same thought. Every other time we hear this same excuse: "The referee didn't see the incident and there wasn't a written statement in the game-report, thus no retrospective action can be taken", rubbish as always.
  5. Must say though, think the referee did alright. Can't think of any particular situation where he made a wrong call for either side. One thing though was that I think their nr.9 Raul Garcia should have been booked, was fouling constantly..
  6. Was he waving to Chelsea fans? Does he understand English? I know this game was that sort of game where you can't really objectively judge players, especially CF-s, but for me, this game made me want us to sign Cavani even more. This type of games aren't rare for us in the Premier League against defensive line-ups and Costa didn't impress me one bit. Cavani, although missed chances (that weren't easy chances), created them himself with direct running and speed.
  7. Ramires should have been sent off Chelsea should have had a penalty themselves That was NOT a penalty that Dean gave to Sunderland. Azpilicueta didn't make contact, it was Altidore who stepped onto Azpilicueta's legOur finishing is below bar, amateur standards. Ramires just shrugged off from a few yards out, Ba missing a sitter, Eto'o going inches wideTheir goalkeeper had a decent day, made couple of brilliant saves to deny Ivanovic and so onSchwarzer's display should make us appreciate Cech moreWe started brilliantly, why did we turn off after the goal? Beyond me. Aslong as we perform mid-week against Atletico this defeat wasn't for nothing. Our squad is too weak to perform on two fronts with the strikers we have (I'd only keep Eto'o), only proper midfielder we have is Matic and he can't help us in Champion's League. Right back position has to be re-evaluated. Ivanovic just isn't an attacking full back, a liability. I would rather sell Ramires to make funds than Luiz. 2-3 proper signings and we're up there next season. Chin up, upwards and onwards!
  8. They'll be tired and not as sharp following City game surely? Just a couple of days rest.
  9. Amazing, to do that on 86th minute, quality
  10. Wrong thread but, Estadio de Mestella, Valencia
  11. Anyone knows anything new about Hazard's injury?
  12. Exactly, Salah's only 21 and I thought he played good aswell. Very good movement but finishing let him down. Doesn't matter anymore, he's been better than I expected, and again ONLY 21. Great result!
  13. City dropping 3 points Henderson red card Sturridge injured, not sure how serious though Still one game for Gerrard to get a yellow and a suspensionIt suited us, as Chelsea fans, that Liverpool won, but it was disgusting how City was denied couple of clear cut penalties.
  14. Look at them celebrate as if they won something already. Having hard time to beat a Championship side (all respect to Wigan though) over the course of 120 minutes. Guess noone told them they dropped out of top four with Everton's win.
  15. I know it's Goal.com, but their table of how things could turn out to be in the end seems rather realistic. Link: http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2014/04/11/4746062/liverpool-manchester-city-or-chelsea-who-will-win-the?ICID=CP_96
  16. Chelsea's transfer ban was taken to International Court of Arbitration. They overruled any UEFA's decision.
  17. Mixed feelings about this draw. Especially with all the drama surrounding Courtois. Legally UEFA's statement shouldn't matter much, Chelsea can take it into civil courts who will allow the clause, no doubt. Contract is a contract. Nothing to do with UEFA. Happy to avoid Bayern and Madrid because they do have players who can change the game in a second out of nothing but the prospect of facing physical and very motivated Atletico isn't much better. However this spans out, I'm confident we'll make it into the final, no doubt in my mind.
  18. I voted for Cech at the moment but I'd like to explain why. Petr Cech is 31 years old, which is not even old for a goalkeeper. He is at his best years theoretically. So he has had some off-days, any player has them, even Courtois if you look through all that media hype. I'm not saying anything negative about Courtois but I think it has been a little too black and white here. Cech's mistakes are examined under the microscope while his heroics (he was one of the main factors who won us the Champions League - penalty saves just to name something) are laregly overlooked. Cech's influence on players in the dressing room can't be underestimated. Anyone who has ever played any competetive team sport knows the psychological benefit of having a more experiened team-mate alongside you, Courtois won't have that effect, not in Chelsea, YET. If anything Cech needs competition (let's be fair, his position has been an one man show for ages now) and like mentioned before by someone Courtois should come back here for pre-season and line up against Cech to see who deserves the number one position, let Mourinho decide but under no circumstances should Courtois be sold or traded. I still can't see why we couldn't keep Cech if Courtois is to become Chelsea's main goalkeeper. Look at Real Madrid - Lopez and Casillas, who would have thought any goalkeeper would bench Casillas a few years back? And look at Barcelona - with Valdes out for 7 months, they're stuck with Pinto who has been shaky and rubbish.
  19. Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Bayern Münich... impressive. To be fair I wouldn't mind playing any of these sides and if we could avoid anyone it would be Atletico Madrid.
  20. Realistically speaking we're 3 games away from winning the whole thing. That's theory of course. Imagine if United eliminate Bayern and we get them in the semis, not a bad option!
  21. Brilliant! Just read this from somewhere: "Kostadinov is a bulgarian player who knocked France out in the 1993 WC playoff. The guy kept showing it to Blanc during the entire game."
