  1. It has been constantly said that Didier Drogba was poor on his 1st two season's with us, he got 16 goals in both seasons (his joint 3rd best tally's at the club). During his 1st season at the club he was injured for the majority of the 1st half of the season and when he came back he scored a vital goal in the CC final and 2 vital goals at vital times against Bayern Munich also as the season got on he was scoring ans setting up more, for a 1st season in the league i think he did really well. During his 2nd season he was swithching with Crespo a lot but still produced some top performances, we also ran away with the title both season's. I think a lot of the reason people thought Drogba was crap in his 1st season is that they were comparing it to his 3rd when he was single handedly keeping us in a title race. During the back to back title season's he Rooben, Duff, Cole, Lampard, Gudjohnsen and Crespo (2nd season) were chipping in with their fair share of goals aswell, even Terry got a healthy amount from defence. But during 06/07 Lampard was still banging goals in but Duff, Gudjohnsen and Crespo jumped ship the goals from Rooben, Cole and Terry somewhat dried up and there was a massive injury crisis and Drogs goals were single handedly keeping us in a title race, so maybe people are comparing those 2 season's to his 3rd and saying he was crap, imo he did ok in his 1st 2 years just not as good as the 3rd. thougts?
  2. If we win the CL it wont matter if we finish 17th were still be in the CL next season.
  3. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Chelsea-starlet-Jack-Cork-to-trade-in-Blues-dream-for-Burnley-gig-article695521.html I desperatly hope this aint true
  4. Werent stupid it aint a bad shout but with Cech still only 28 and Delac coming through we seem well covered for no1's.
  5. Hamsic Kaka is getting on and it takes most players a year to adapt to the league by then Kaka will be 30, Cesc wont come anyway.
  6. good keeper but no need (unless Cech asks to leave) Petr has been our best player this season bar none.
  7. Only problem he is 30 next year, given that and his injury record i dont know
  8. http://www.dailymail...adrid-star.html Rumours here that Chelsea are preparing a £25m bid for Kaka. Carlo Ancelotti makes no secret of his admiration for the 28 year old so their might be some truth in it. It seems here if he does join he will be playing off Fernando Torres which will surely spell the end off Didier Drogba's wonderfull 7 year reign at Chelsea and Nicolas Anelka or Daniel Sturridge will probally be Torres's challenger to the main sticker role. thoughts?
  9. I disagree, Ivan will be moved to RB full time i think and Alex will be further up in the pecking order to play CB than Ivanovic. If the 1st half of this season taught us anything it is that we need a squad, selling Alex straight after buying Luiz just seems nonsense not evrey one can play evrey game and all 3 will get their fair share of games this season and next. In a couple of years Bruma should be knocking hard at the door aswell. Fantastic news on Ivan's new contract tho
  10. I was watching the match last night with a few mates down the pub (all of bar 1 supported either United, Arsenal or Liverpool) and each and evrey one of them at evrey avalible opportunity were slagging those 3 off. The sad fact is that its not just a small minority all 3 have got booed by England "fans" (and i use the word fans loosely hence the inverted commas) at Wembley in the past, talk about rose tinted spectacles. Its a absolute disgrace IMO granted i dont like half that England team but id never sit there slagging them off while there wearing the England shirt and i defiently wont boo them if i ever watch England at Wembley in my lifetime. The likes of Scholes and Carragher called it quits before they were 30 (although the latter got drafted back for the world cup) and they dont get a bad word said about them, but Lamps, JT and Cole are all in their 30's still giving it their all for England and these "fans" give them shit because they dont like Chelsea. i wonder how these "fans" will react if all 3 retire their probally cry judas knowing some of them idiots and then kiss Scholes's ass. I remember a public outroar when Cole stated in his interview before the FA Cup final that he would choose the double over Chelsea than a world cup with England, well if they dont want to hear stuff like that then they should treat the guy with respect when he is pulling the England shirt on then harsh reality is while i would have loved England to win the world cup the thought of these moaning "fans" celebrating will turn my stomach (especially if one of our Chelsea boys got the winner in the final). There are very good and loyal (long suffering) England fans around who deserve a WC but the pillocks who give rival club players shit while pulling the 3 lions jersey on do not. If those 3 all retire now i would be estatic as they can then focus on playing for fans who appreciate what great players they are, but they wont because there all too proud to do that.
  11. Ideal excuse to stay away from talksport, not that i needed one.
  12. Any other team id say we had a real shout at it but i think Fergie is too expierenced to fuck it up now. I hope im wrong tho, good article tho never the less.
  13. Have you ever not known a Chelsea match was on until it was too late once like a re-scheduled match or something? Its only ever happened once for me, the City away match in 06/07 when Lamps scored the winning penalty (it was reseduled due to our CC match against the Gooners), i was out with a few mates and i came back home and i saw the match on the tele at the 88th minute i was like what the fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never has a Chelsea match passed me by without knowing before and i hope it never does again. What about you?
  14. He made some delisious passes to the strickers his 1 to Sinclair was superb. He has jumped from U17's to U21's in the space of 6 months whats to say he wont jump further within the next 6? A good display from Jack Cork aswell (why oh why cant we give him a chance)

  16. Im not too sure myself. If they manage together eventully there will be an argument over (for example Hiddink thinks Alex should play this match but Carlo thinks Luiz) and the last time joint managing was tried in the premier league with Houllier and Evans look how turned out?
  17. http://www.thesun.co...c-Fabregas.html http://forum.talkchelsea.net/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/thumbsdown.gif please for the love of god dont let this be true http://forum.talkchelsea.net/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/doh.gif http://forum.talkchelsea.net/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/wub.gif
  18. I think this is very clever from the club, get an understanding with Van Aanholt (who has been a hit at the walkers) as i can see a big future for both. Leicester are on the way up and if they can help them get into the play off or more that will only boost their confidence ten fold.
  19. When the topic of Josh McEachran starting gets brought up for more creativity, it brings a bit of a mixed response without doubt a class act, some feel he is ready but some would rather slowly bed him into the 1st team. So im going to list what (to me) are the pros and cons of blooding Josh regually now. Pros - He is chomping at the bit, was our best player at the stade veledrome (one of the most intimidating stadiums in europe), dictated the play in our 7-0 win over Ipswich and ive personally never seen any-one take a game by the scruff off the neck like he did against Newcastle in the carling cup. - When he has played he has got something like a 91% pass sucess rate. - He plays like he is in his mid 20's. - Has great strenth despite his small frame, ever seen him bullied off the ball? Cons - There have been so many early burn out's with players that have played loads at teens (Owen the main example Rooney is heading that way too if he aint carefull). - He has made a couple of mistakes this season, at Villa park lost the ball and nearly lost the game and against Zilina lost his marker (when he gets older he wont make those mistakes but what if he makes 1 against Utd and cost's us points?). - If he plays alot and gets a injury that could halt his progress. 4 pros and 3 cons i can think off, what is your view? do you think McEachran should be starting or pushing to start and why?
  20. :goodpost: If we lost 5 and drew 1 out of 6 then won a scrappy game 1-0, there be no "were back" talk so why should it be diffrent the other way round?
  21. Those games are the type of games Spuds are re-knowed for fuckin up. Id be suprised if they win any more than 1 of those 3 away games.
  22. Althhough Brana did ok at CB he is much better at RB and it shores up the defence because Bosingwa and Paulo are preety dodgy there.
