  1. Rodwell, Wilshere and McEachran seems a preety decent midfield trio, with Shelvey a subsitute. Wilshere and Josh will work well together because players of their attributes do, Lampard and Gerrard could easily have worked if ENgland ditched a stricker and played a holding midfielder. Lets hope these "england fans" who have given Terry and Lampard unknown amounts of shit in the past because they played for Chelsea appreciate what a class player Josh is. On a side not has Josh got Twitter?
  2. There seems no sense in this at-all The luiz signing is too add to the strenth of the back line and as Luiz wont be eligible for the CL it dont seem to make any sense. The only way i can think off is if Kjear is coming in aswell but even then selling Alex is NOT the answer.
  3. He is just not consistent enough. He is the type of player that will produce 1 sensatinal performance (IE Russia V Holland, 4 goals at Anfield, Villa park this season) then follow it up with about 12 average games. On top form there aint too many better at what he does but how often is he on top form?
  4. He would defiently benefit us for the latter CL stages, if were struggling to break things down he will offer something else.
  5. I dont think he is the answer Despite his goals this season he has made some dodgy mistakes at the other end, that own goal V Blackburn and that mistake V Brum. I dont think he is quite what we need TBH
  6. The team should be if JT and Lamps dont make it Cech, Bossy, Brana, Bruma, Cole, Essien, Ramires, McEachran, Anelka, Drogba, Sturrigde.
  7. U sure he is suspended? if not that and the Benfica visit to London sound very promosing
  8. This is good as its clear Josh looks up to Lamps. I can see Lampard helping Josh the way Desailly did for Terry.
  9. Our best young players usually play for the reserves.
  10. Haha you and me both mate. Fullham will be a good club for Kakuta aslong as he can get regular 1st team football.
  11. :goodpost: Have you got a table for that age group?
  12. Very true after last night we must fancy our chances against Rushden or Barnsley, when will that be on? The academy has come on leaps and bounds in the last 5 years, while its still a working progress carry on the way we have been going it will only be a matter of time before we start producing at a fast rate.
  13. Could not catch the match because the streams were playing up From what i read and heard we fully deserved to win, i thought at half time this screamed of a re-run of the final last year when we were 1-0 down at HT and came back. I feared the worst when we went 1 down after 2 minutes but great response and a great future it seems. How did Deen-Conteh get on?, from what ive heard he is a bigger prospect than Van Aanholt. KTBFFH :cfc:
  14. This ageing squad thing is overhyped by the Manc loving media. Apart From Henrique Hilario we dont have a player over the age of 32, FFS Keown was still a regular at Arsenal until he was 36. Kalou is a very decent squad player and despite his obvious frustration gets around 10 goals a season (not bad for a squad winger) some of his goals he has scored are vital (IE 2 of our last 3 FA Cup wins he scored against Southend and Spuds to prevent early elimination). Benayoun is a decent squad player, Ramires has already had MOTM performances against Le Arse and Spuds he will be a monster when he settles. Turnbull i agree with (not a waste of space just not quite good enough for Chelsea), nice guy but they dont win you titles, even tho i would not mind him as 3rd choice but 2nd choice is dodgy. Ferreira aint the player he was a few years ago but he has been a fantastic survent for us, if he leaves in January after the Bolton match (IF we are winning comftably) we have a late pen we should let Paulo have it.
  15. This wont be a Shevchenco signing, this signing will be made with the future firmly in mind. Alex and Terry have not had the best of injury records lately to say the least, in a couple of years both will be firmly in their 30's and might not be able to play 3 times a week, by then Luiz will be 25 and most probally established as one of the best centre backs on the globe while Bruma will be 21 and slowly working his way up (similar to what JT did). If we dont sign Luiz chances are City will and we will regret it. Personally i think Brana should be full time RB, the problems started moving him while he has done very well at CB we are much easier for the taking on the right hand side when Ivanovic is not there these days.
  16. How much does that cost? PS i really want to watch the game tonight.
  17. Does any-one know any other channel apart form Chelsea TV i can watch the game, ive got freeview so cant get Chelsea TV
  18. TO be fair in his 1st 2 season's he was fantastic. He kept the likes of Pires and Ronaldo firmly in his back pocket.
  19. I kind of see where your coming from, Liverpool (08/09) Us and Sunderland last season and West Brom this prove that if you go to Utd and have a go at them they can be there for the taking.
  20. This was the year before Roman took over basically the question i want to ask is could we have mounted a geuniune challenge that season with a bit more depth to our squad? If you look at what was IMO our best line-up that season we had some real quality there. GK Cudicini RB Melchiot CB Desailly © CB Terry/Gallas LB Le Saux RM Gronkjear CM Petit CM Lampard LM Zola ST Hasselbaink ST Gudjohnsen There were no mugs in that line-up, Desailly and Petit were world cup winners, Cudicini, Zola and Hasselbaink were one of the best in their positions. Lampard, Melchiot, Gudjohnsen, Terry and Gallas were promosing young talents. Le Saux was mega expierenced aswell. Our 1st choice line-up had a good mix of youth and expierence and at christmas we went top (briefly) until Arsenal beat Boro later that day. We were up there at Christmas and i think our lack of depth that season made us fade away and eventully finish 4th (which was still great). This was our "B" team GK De Geoy RB Ferrer CB Gallas/Terry CB Huth LB Babayaro RM Morris CM Stanic CM De Lucas LM Zenden ST C.Cole ST Knight So we were clearly lacking in options from the bench Stanic, De Geoy and Ferrer were all getting on. C.Cole made a couple of important contributions, Zenden and Babayaro aswell but apart from that we didnt have too many players beyond the 1st XL that made too big an impact IMHO. But at christmas 2002, was i the only 1 daring to dream?
  21. Begovic is a good goalkeeper only thing is would that push Delac further back or does he need a few seasons out on loan?
