  1. He was pretty poor but i noticed a watching the game back he called for the ball, made runs, on time in the first half he put the ball down (for a free kick) and made a run straight away to make himself available. That alone is a key reason as to why he deserves a run of games over Torres, he gets involved. and lets be honest price tag and previous built up reputation aside, what logical reason is there currently to start Nando over Sturridge?
  2. Hummels will have the same problem playing with Cahill or Luiz as the pair do playing with each other. far too similar playing styles. If we want to ease our reliance on JT then someone like Subotic is the way forward.
  3. Apparently voted the 38th best player in our history How many Torres fanboys have we actually got?
  4. On another note apparently Suarez is on 4 yellows? so a booking for him this weekend and he is out of the Stamford Bridge clash.
  5. --------------------Cech------------------------- Azpi--------Ivan---------Luiz--------------Cole -------------Mikel--------Ramires------------- Moses-------------Oscar----------------Hazard --------------------Sturridge----------------------
  6. When he is with Terry he is great, when he with Ivanovic he is ok, when he is with Cahill he is terrible. Swap Cahill for Luiz in that sentence and its the same with Cahill. If you take out the matches he has played with Cahill, our defensive record when Luiz plays is actually very good, only Villa at home and City in the community shield have we conceded 3 or more with Luiz playing for us other than with Cahill.
  7. Cahill makes just as many error's as Luiz does, the reason they don't get flagged up is because he makes tactical error's. The amount of goals that get scored because Cahill is marking thin air is un real. Yet it's allright to defend Cahill to the hilt despite all the tactical error's but bash Luiz for any little thing? The Luiz and Cahill partnership doesn't work, they don't compliment each other, they have no chemistry together. Either of them with Terry is a proven decent partnership but those two together don't work and they are both just as responsible for that not just Luiz, they bring the worst out of eachother, they should never play together again.
  8. shooting to much > being scared to shoot. Any day of the week.
  9. That's what i meant, Bale before those Arsenal, Chelsea and Inter games was one of the most under-rated player's in the league, he never got the credit he deserved and now he get's so much credit and most of it is way over the top. Scholes is another example, for years he never got the credit he deserved, the whole nation realized it all off a sudden and overhyping Scholes turned into some national project.
  10. I have said he has his own qualities, that's the point. I was one of the one's defending his initial signing but im also one of the one's that hasn't jumped on the bandwagon off over hyping him. My opinion of the lad has remained the same from day one and will probably remain the same throughout his Chelsea career.
  11. Cahill has suffered from the 'Bale syndrome'. When he signed he was completely under-rated, was wrote off before he even signed by a lot even as a squad player but he came in and had a few solid performances especially at the back end of last season and now hes gone too far the other way. In short he has gone from being the most under-rated player in our squad to the most over-rated. From "only a Bolton player, will never be good enough" to "captain material, next JT, bla bla bla". In truth he is right in the middle of both those description's, a good squad player.
  12. I think Robbie has been clever slowly integrating Cesar, Moses and Marin in. Too much change in one go isn't good, so far the new players playing regularly are Hazard and Oscar, right now Hazard, Oscar and Mata are a trio causing havoc to other teams, eventually teams will 'wise up' to it a bit more then Robbie will start introducing the width, which will be Marin and Moses. Azpi aswell will have a very big future here, but Robbie is slowly integrating him, remember Ivanovic took over a year to settle properly and find consistency in his performances. Eventually Moses, Marin and Azpi will be fully integrated in the squad but for now im just happy witnessing Hazard and Oscar settling like a duck to water.
  13. @, Cole's weakness is fast and direct wingers, his track record against Valencia, Walcott and Lennon leaves a lot to be desired. Stick him up against a tricky winger (IE Ronaldo) and he owns him all over the park. The irony is i think (from watching some of his games on loan at Reading) Bertrand is the other way round.
  14. You don't know what you have got until it's gone. This will almost certainly be the case with Mikel when he leaves.
  15. You have just wished death on a man and your preaching about appropriate behavior
  16. I try to prevent myself from thinking conspiracy but this is getting silly. Cech not on this list
  17. Fair point. His bad games however as you pointed out were against Athletico, Shacktar and yesterday, add the Naples game in it i think we have his four worst displays in a Chelsea shirt, 3 of them he was paired with Cahill (who was just as bad on those nights, if not worse). I think the problem with Luiz is he cannot play with Cahill or vice versa, he rarely has a bad game with Terry or even Ivanovic, he still has his sloppy moments every now and again, but rarely an outright terrible game. Cahill's the same, fine with Terry, terrible when with Luiz.
  18. @, United (full SB debut), City (few weeks later), Levekusen (twice), Valencia (twice), Napoli (2nd leg), Benfica, Bayern, Arsenal. Just out of the top of my head the big teams he has performed well against.
  19. Torres has never been a scapegoat, infact quite the opposite.
  20. @Kojo, The funny thing is he still has games like that now (although not to the same extent as the City one), QPR away this season sticks in my head. He had his fair few last season too and he also has games like that but ruins them with one rush of blood. The media has made such a massive deal of this its untrue.
  21. He has only had a few truly terrible games and they have always been when he has been paired with Cahill. The same goes for the latter. I don't blame Cahill, just there partnership just does not work, never has never will. He is phrone to the odd lapse of concentration yes, but when paired with Terry he has had numerous solid matches. His display against City in his first season here was one of the best defensive displays i have ever seen.
  22. As tempting at this is to play the full team and smash them, what if it backfires and there reserve side shock us? we will lose confidence and get fatigued with crucial games coming up. Marin, Moses and one of the 3 maestro's will be fine.
  23. Cahill makes a lot of error's, the only reason they don't get noticed as much as Luiz's is because Gary's are more tactical, whereas Luiz's are more mistimed. Terry imo is still the best centre half out of the three by a country mile. He may not be as good as he was but my god we need him to keep those two on a leash.
  24. or maybe Cahill brings the worst out of Luiz too? How many of Luiz's bad performances come partnered with Terry or even Ivanovic? hardly any of them. Cahill and Luiz don't work as a partnership, they are both as responsible for that as each other. Cahill has been hyped up as some world builder since he has joined us, he has been far from that, he has his good games, but his bad games should have age restrictions on them.
  25. I think the thing with Cahill is a lot of fans wrote him off before he arrived, saying he is "only a Bolton player" etc etc, which was harsh and after a few good displays it went to far the other way "next JT" "new captain" etc etc etc. It was almost like some CFC fans wanted to compensate for the one's that dismissed him before he came through the Cobham door. Cannot question his attitude and commitment, but for a team that want's to win titles, the best he can be is a (very good) squad player.
