  1. Any one blinded by Torres's mini good run are hopefully seeing sense tonight.
  2. Im fed up with this stability argument, why do most of this country seem to think the be all and end all of stability is having a manager for a certain period of time? So Arsenal, while they have had one manager since we have had loads, remind me, how many captains have they had since we appointed JT as Captain? How many problems have they had in the boardroom since Roman has took over? is that stabilty? really? Man.Utd, how many captains have they had since we appointed JT? How much financial trouble do they have compared to us? We have had more than enough stability this past 10 years. A committed owner, same captain and a strong spine. Stability doesn't begin and end in the manager, if you believe that you need to stop listening to the media as they believe it or not know fuck all.
  3. The paranoia is quite funny, does anyone really think we will sell him in the summer? If their is one thing our board is top notch at it is letting players go, none have come back to haunt us, they won't let such a talent leave us. He will be in the team making it four amigos next season, no doubt about it.
  4. Am i the only one who would be happy with Pellegrini? Obviously Jose is my number one choice but i do rate this guy very highly.
  5. Luiz was in really bad form when Rafa took over and has been doing well for months now. But there's no point mulling over what Rafa has or hasn't done he will be gone next month and both parties will move on.
  6. At worst he will become a decent squad player for us, which will save us £7-9m to buy one.
  7. Im not quite sure he can be a number 1, but he will be some rotation forward to a decent forward we will hopefully bring in this summer, it's players like Ba that make squad's strong.
  8. Under AVB he looked good at the start. Saying his all round game is better isn't saying much given how bad it was before. As far as im concerned this is his chance to do a Bosingwa and end a torrid Chelsea career on a high and win us a trophy but we shouldn't even contemplate the idea of him staying unless he is happy being a squad player but given his attitude so far i highly doubt that.
  9. The second choice DM will be the best option for him next season, hopefully to Khedira. This pivot needs to be sorted this summer, even before a forward.
  10. Well said, Ramires is criminally under rated, including by me at times. He is a valuable asset to us the second half at Old Trafford the main example for that.
  11. Don't do this to yourself. He is having a mini run of decent form like he did before Christmas and at the start under AVB. He won't be back, he is still not good enough.
  12. Who remembers our last game away at Everton in 2011? We finished 2nd but on 71 points, most season's that will get us 4th at best, (and also factor in the title rebound games at the start which boosted our points and gd no end) we had an ageing team. Anelka and Malouda were both horrifically past it yet still dominating our wings. Essien was not as good, Lampard dipped in form as well. The football we were playing was so static, lethargic and devoid off anything good. The Liverpool home match especially almost had me in tears. Compared to that, this season has been a dream, remember how we were on here pretty much begging Carlo/Roman to get some width and creativity? well now we have Mata, Hazard and Oscar. Lets not forget just how badly we needed players like that and now we have got them. We have had to bite the bullet in terms of trophies this season but our future is as good as any one's in England if we get the balance in the team right this summer. Compare that to two years ago when we only looked like heading in one direction and that was down.
  13. Im responding to the fact you said this was our worst season under Roman, and imo 10/11 was much worse, our future looked dire that term, now we have some of the upcoming stars of world football. I fail to see how this season has been that bad (so far), unless someone was expecting a title win, were in a state of transition, these things take time. The best we could have hoped for this season was 3rd with a couple of cups on the side, we are in a good position to finish 3rd and claim a trophy, i would have accepted that in August given how much experience we let go. While parts of this season have been frustrating, i am more than encouraged by the direction we are heading in on the pitch, the potential of this team is unreal, all we need is a bit more defensive balance (Khedira would be perfect) and we are laughing.
  14. Exactly, we have been treated to some superb performances this season where the potential of this team is there for all to see, but we can't let experience go replace them with under 23's and expect any more than what we have got this season it's pure fantasy. I challenge someone to say (honestly) they felt better about the future of this club in 2010/2011 say when we lost to Wolves than what they do now.
  15. This season is not the worst in the Roman era, not even close compared to 10/11.
  16. He needs a couple of season's to adapt like @Kojo, said. Personally i think his ceiling is higher than both Mata and Hazard's, but he needs time and patience to get anywhere near there.
  17. Cahill and Luiz didn't even work in Munich, we were saved by the best goalkeeping performance i have ever seen. Terry and Luiz is our most solid partnership, closely followed by Luiz and Ivanovic.
  18. Petr Cech and Santiago Canizares (not Schmeichel and Buffon) are the best keepers of the last two decades.
  19. We need to take the game to City, the difference in our games between City and United is alarming. Why are we so scared of City compared to United? is it mental or something?
  20. Torres has a chance to do a Bosingwa and finish a torrid Chelsea career on a high by helping us win a couple of trophies.
  21. I was thinking that, would have made sense to keep Newton there, especially as he stayed at the club anyway.
  22. After spending the last few days catching up on matches when i was away and looking at some match reports from those games on here, i am a bit surprised to see some pessimism about our long term future. Results have been inconsistent this season, after letting experience go and signing all under 23's players in the summer, it is too be expected that the results will not be all there. One game we will perform below par at home to QPR then we will go to one of the hardest ground's in the country like The Brittania and smash Stoke all over the pitch. The best we could have hoped for this season was 3rd, with a couple of cups on the side, we have a big chance of doing just that now which will set us up nicely for next season and beyond. Make no mistake, the potential of this team is huge, our 8-0 win over Villa, 4-0 win over Stoke, the first half against Arsenal at home and the way we swarmed all over United in both FA Cup games are the prime examples of just how great this group can become. This is not 2010/2011, were we were stagnating with ageing players, we are a young team with inconsistencies and will only get better. You could say, well Arsenal said they had a great young team that never materialized and yes that is true but Arsenal used that line for 5-6 years, we will need to see genuine progression in the squad starting in the summer. But all we need is a bit more balance in the side, Khedira would be the perfect signing if the rum-ours he wants to follow Mourinho is true, not to mention the outstanding players we have out on loan. This season has been frustrating with inconsistent results and performance, but aslong as we get it right this summer and beyond we will be treated to an unbelievable team for many years to come.
  23. Got what i wanted out of tonights game, qualification and we have our trio fresh(ish) for Sunday.
  24. Thanks, i went Latin America for two and a half months.
