According to Wilkins, Carlo was asked in summer 2010 what forward he wanted and he said Torres. We were close to signing him for £35m that summer (bookies suspended betting on it at one point) until he signed a new deal which looked like we would never get him, then 6 months on ......

Carlo cannot fall for this twice, can he?

Completely forgot about this My team must be destroyed by now, oh well least i won the league

Chelsea make a late run into the title race (been done before) and we find ourself's 2 points behind United on the last day. United losing 3-0 to Lukaku inspired West Brom. Chelsea drawing 1-1 with Everton. Last minute penalty awarded to the Blues, Frank Lampard (level with Bobby Tambling on 202 goals for Chelsea) steps up. Can't happen, can it?

Jose is having a bad season, every manager has one, even him.
-
Out of contract at Swansea at the end of the season, looked decent in Vorm's absence and with Hilario out of contract this summer we will need a new back up for Cech. Worth a punt?

Anyone notice the double standards in the media when it comes to us signing players? I remember in 2011 January window Roman went above Carlo to sign Pienaar and the media had a field day, conviently forgetting Levy was doing exactly the same to Harry with the same player.
-
I didn't think. All he needs now is for the romantic return to Liverpool to go tits up then i don't think even @Backsteet9 can defend him.
-
He would have been a disaster in every sense of the word. The complete opposite to what we need.

I find it funny how the myth going round is Benitez was only appointed to get the best out of Torres. May it occur that there was just no better manager around available and ready for work mid season. Unless their are people who rate McLeish?

While were on the topic of Stoke who thinks Tony Pulis is underachieving? He has the 3rd highest net spend in the league and they are still no better then when they first came up. The only difference now is teams are shit scared of playing at The Brittania, which wasn't the case in 2008. Instead of journeyman like Jeff Cameron he should have scoured Europe for the next Moussa Dembele. I can see that club stagnating badly at some point and there will only be one man to blame. Is he yet another manager scared of any sort of expectation? For now tho, i have wrote this game off as a defeat from the start, no JT and Cech is going to make it a long afternoon although Ba gives me some hope.

Were losing this game regardless could be nasty without cech tho

The funny thing is it's not even his performances that make me dislike him, it's his deluded attitude towards them. If he came out after Munich and said that he understand's he has played crap but will do what it takes to get in the team and will compete with whoever he needs too, then he would have had my respect and admiration regardless. But demanding guarantee's of a number 1 spot after averaging one goal a month since arrival Cole admitted his performances were below par in 06/07, why can't this twat do the same? I actually don't want Torres to leave in the summer (here me out) i want us to sign Falcao and bring back Lukaku. i want Torres to be 4th choice forward with the number 99 shirt, lucky to make the bench and i want too see him show some willingness to get back up the pecking order and try to earn his place and more importantly his money. He probably won't be able to because he is genuinely terrible but he owes us that atleast.

Forget sacking Rafa its a new board we need
Tomo replied to oxfordblues's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Rafa and our board are the least of our problems. Torres is THE problem. We should actually consider releasing him and paying him off, best £30m we will ever spend, that's how much of a detriment to us he really is. -
Torres leaving will be the most excited we get about a transfer since we signed him
-
Wrong, we dodged an asteroid.

Whether Ashton made it up or no, i still reckon it's true anyway. It's not that hard to imagine it. "players wish Torres was back at Liverpool too" that one won't surprise me, i said a while back on here i bet at the very least half the squad privately have the same views on Torres as most of us. Let him have his romantic return to Liverpool, after signing "service" players, bringing Rafa in, a failed return to Liverpool is probably the last theory to get him back on form which hasn't been tried, then people will have to accept he is done.
-
Hopefully (like with me) their will be a game (if Wednesday wasn't it) where Roman snaps with Torres. Mine was the 2-0 carling cup defeat to Liverpool,

What i find funny is it actually being said, no one will want to manage under Roman, its poisoned chalice, i laugh about how some have really lapped up this media bullshit. This is a dream job. What are the real flaws Roman has got? Sacks managers? so does Morratti at just as fast a rate. Doesn't give manager's full control over transfers? very few owner's/chairman do, infact our manager's do get atleast a say, which is more than what happens at say Tottenham for example. Manager's at this club get paid well and will get world class players to work with, it's a fucking dream job.

Long may it continue, Mancini is City's weak link.
-
I was one of the first to turn against him infact i suggested we got rid of him this time last year, look back in the middle section of this thread

It no Hazard, it doesn't Mata, but if we get Hulk we win an Oscar.
