  1. Because the league was the bread and butter, we needed a top 3 finish this season (still do) and Robbie's record in league football leaves a lot to be desired, which includes the CL group stage as that sort off is a league. If we were looking to win cups before anything else this season (which included a top 3 finish) then yes we could have used his cup credentials.
  2. Yes on the face of it that it true, but would Robbie have kept up the same results or would we have nosedived the same way his West Brom team did? With Rafa we knew what we were going to get, which is basically the pattern of results we have got, Robbie we could have either kept up the pattern or nosedived and Turin was a very worrying sign of what might have been to come, to say the least.
  3. If Carlo Ancelotti took over from RDM with the exact same results, would he be getting half the abuse Rafa is getting? Were letting our previous bitterness with the man get in the way.
  4. How do we know? we could have nosedived like his WBA team did. Maybe that's what Roman was worried about. Personally if Robbie stayed i reckon we would have got to the League Cup final but in the league we would be 4th or below. So basically it depends on what you wanted, top 4 or cup wins?
  5. Not rating Rafa is one thing, but Hoddle doing better? we might aswell put McLeish on our next shortlist while were at it.
  6. Bit extreme. The future is as good as it's ever been.
  7. We started this season investing in young players, letting experience go, 1 forward who we never played and serious unbalance in our team, the best we could have hoped for this season is 3rd with some positive signs for the future, so far so good in both counts. If Rafa had this record with one of our 03-09 squads then yes he will deserve every bit of criticism he is receiving, but AVB and RDM aside, every manager we have had under Roman has started with better and more balanced squads.
  8. It situations like this where we could do with having Jose back.
  9. Funny thing is i thought he was decent when he came on, not enough tho if this is his last appearance it won't be a second too soon.
  10. I do wonder what Jose will do if he gets control of this team. Torres will be out of the door, another forward will come in (possibly Lukaku returning from loan) and he will do a Drogba-Crespo with him and Ba. He will probably make someone like Feruz or Bamford third choice. Hazard with his ever improving defensive work will be a nailed on starter on the left/right, he might go back to 4-3-3 with Mata the top of that three, Ramires behind and defensive midfielder most probably will be signed. Luiz will be fine tuned into the world class defender we know he can be. The one who might be in a bit of trouble is Oscar. Moses will probably be seen as the new Duff. I imagine he will sign a left/right winger also. With a few additions he will have us right up there again. But will he come back?
  11. Who says Mourinho will want to keep him? we saw what he did to Carvalho.
  12. He needs to do it in two world cups like Pele did.
  13. Torres got nothing but top support for two years of utter shite, as far as im concerned he should have got jeered when he made the "he didnt care" comments. Rafa however i do agree with, i just can't understand all this, because he made comments in the past, well Moyes has done the same so it will be interesting to see if he gets the same should Roman go insane and appoint him.
  14. How about sign him and put him on a Courtois style loan programme?
  15. Mourinho if not keep Rafa, ditching a high profile manager for a mid table miracle man is lunacy. Moyes has worked wonders at Everton, but Roy worked wonders at Fulham, Big Sam worked wonders at Bolton, Hughes worked wonders at Blackburn and we all know what happened when they got big jobs. What has Moyes done different (apart from stay at this job longer) to suggest he will go any different from those three? If Moyes get's the job, he will probably go the same way as Roy or Sam, fail, get another job and rebuild the reputation he had before (over achieving at clubs with limited budgets).
  16. There is a reason his username is bitee, he gets enough of them here.
  17. Moyes is the master of making a team with unlimited funds and not huge expectation's punch above their weight. Sam Allardyce did the same at Bolton to just as good effect as Moyes, if not better, does that mean if Big Sam remained at Bolton to this day his name will be in the frame?
  18. I was basically about to say the same thing. He was like a footballing air traffic controller.
  19. Regarding Rafa's subs, when was the last time we had a manager good at that? RDM and AVB weren't much cop at it, Carlo was horrendous when it came to trying to change a game from the bench but never got half the stick Rafa got. Regarding his worst start as a manager for Roman. Who else had Terry out for all bar 20 minutes of their first 16 games? Apart from AVB and RDM, every manager under Roman has had a better and more balanced team to work with. Its no coincidence AVB and Rafa are bottom of this particular table. If he had this start with one of our 04-09 squad's fair enough, but you can't compare his start to manager's who took over this team at their peak.
  20. This is a deceiving performance, a bit like the Liverpool one. It looked on the face of it he did ok (well for his standards anyway), but look at it closely the amount of turnover's he concedes is horrific.
