  1. You think we have it tough that Jose plays Lampard in a few more games than he should? United play a 40 year old Giggs ahead off Nani, Kagawa and Valencia. In Gollum we trust.
  2. God Journalism is getting worse, when did he make it "fairly clear" Ivan will be first choice RB exactly? I must have missed it (that wasn't aimed at you that was aimed at Lipton who wrote that). Is he due another appearance on Chelsea TV? i think he needs another spanking of Gigi. It does infuriate me how some of these people have a well paid job, i see some of those lifesapitch video's on youtube and they talk so much shite it's fucking scary.
  3. There's a lot of complication's when it comes to blooding young players these days, unless they are a freak of nature like Rooney or Fabregas they need to be carefully nurtured or damage could be done. Take Scott Carson for example, back in 2007 he was the next big English goalkeeper, got thrown in against Croatia thinking he can handle it and boom, made a mistake and since his career went downhill and is now a championship goalkeeper. One game pretty much turned a young prospect's career upside down. The mental side of football is often underestimated by supporters, manager luckily are more wise to it.
  4. Just read through your whole piece and i thought inclined to comment on this, from what i heard he had a bit of an attitude problem, in other words Fergie the supposed youth genius gave up on him to easy.
  5. Just what i thought, he was part of a youth cup winning team and has had a hugely successful loan at a promotion chasing club at his 17/18 years old season. Wilkins is talking utter shit about Nathaniel. I do agree with what he said in general however, on talent alone McEachran can easily be one of the best players in the Premier League he really can, he needs to bulk up a bit and show more drive and commitment, he disappears in games far, far to easily and is doesn't have great fitness, hench why he often gets hauled off in matches.
  6. Unless Wilkins classes being an unused sub as making your debut, then Chalobah did not make his debut when he was at Chelsea.
  7. Is he fit yet? im guessing his first appearance if so will be Swindon in the Carling Cup then he will work from there.
  8. To enhance on the suggestion i made earlier, maybe a mod makes the thread then locks in and just let's people vote (if you can lock a thread and use the poll at the same time) atleast then there won't be no bickering (like LDN Blue suggested could happen). Quick poll on the last day of each month, done in 24 hours, move onto the next month, thoughts?
  9. That could happen but it's worth a try, if the said staff member explain their reasoning for nominating (like Alex did the very first time) then that could help too!!!
  10. I said in the last thread that i personally believe that we should go back to what was done at the start, where a mod (or a member known for being impartial) keeps an eye out over the months and chooses 5 people that they think deserve a nomination then put them straight on the poll. With the nomination process from the whole forum is when it becomes a popularity contest, if one person who has kept a close eye all month makes a fair judgement then people will get on there by merit. Also i don't believe previous winners should be cut off for a month or two, take Skipper for example, he has been consistently great with his activity and quality of posting for months now and imo has deserved to be nominated for aslong as i can remember. If they have had a great month and added a lot to the forum then for me, they should be on the poll regardless of how many times they have won it recently.
  11. He's saying goodbye to Oscar because he is about to get on a different plane to Paris to have a medical with PSG. Source: The Daily Star.
  12. The Brazilian league is not dud league, it has/had great players in it (look at Oscar) and Neymar stood out like a gold star. The fact he has doubters astonishes me (im not referring to you, i mean the football world in general) he is incredible and is only going to get better.
  13. I haven't suffered from international's halting club football during the season for almost a year, nearly forgotten how tediously painful they are.
  14. @Zinedine Iniesco, Out of interest, what is the opinion of Madrid fans to Carlo carrying the Jose tradition of playing Lopez and dropping Cassilas.
  15. I remember some point last season someone's criticism of Moses was "it's the sort of player Liverpool would sign" and someone came back with the response "he would start for Liverpool, for us he is a squad player, that's the difference". Time to put that theory to the test.
  16. I think there was two main selling points for getting Willian. We needed some top winger, Moses was good as a squad player, but we can't rely on him to be our only winger and outside of Mata all our AM's are in their early 20's and still a fair bit away from their peak (as quite clearly shown at Old Trafford), Willian is someone in or around his peak and will deliver now.
  17. Exactly, that's the whole point, Liverpool are still a while away from competing for top 4 let alone with us, there just hyped up the same way they were at the start of Kenny's full season. Liverpool have our ex reserve team coach and are loaning Moses after supposedly trying to loan Piazon off us earlier in the summer, yet Liverpool fans still cannot accept their reduced status.
  18. Just seen the squabbles of the last couple of pages and i thought i will give my two pennies worth. Maybe in future months one of the admins (or a member known for being impartial towards members) should be given the role of keeping an eye out over the month then choosing five members who go straight into the poll? I think this is a decent thing to do every month and it will be a shame to scrap it completely.
  19. Their seems to be more of a calmness about England now, more of a realistic look at where the country actually is and if England get to Brazil next summer there won't be so much expectancy which could work in the favour (like Chelsea in 2012 CL, Arsenal in 2006). In 2010 there was that stupid Venables song, in 2006 it was the golden generation hype, now their's no hype we don't have a player at the peak of their powers and a manager that nearly relegated Liverpool, so maybe the less pressure might actually help the team and get England a respectable tounament at the very least. Still maintain Terry and the FA need to swallow their pride to have a chance of actually winning tho.
  20. People keep going on about Oscar being moved to the pivot, if any of our six AM's do (not saying they will, but if any of them do) i would put money on it being this guy.
  21. Gerrard is the most over-rated player i have ever seen, and as he gets older it's getting worse, man of the match? really.
  22. What you mean the Torres that walked down the tunnel after being subbed off? The Torres that still had a face like a slapped ass when we scored the goals when we beat Southampton 5-1? The same Torres that sulked to the media a day after we won the CL? The same Torres that came out and said he didn't care about results? The same Torres who often sulks and hides when he doesn't get a pass or slips over? Torres having a good attitude is the biggest myth around.
