Last four home victories vs Arsenal we went on to drop points the league game later (1-2 vs Everton, 0-0 vs Villa, 2-2 vs Reading, 0-1 vs Palace). Hopefully we stop this trend here.

I can relate to every single word in that article Looks disinterested aswell, guessing the San Siro crowd aren't keeping alive the outrageous fantasy that he always gives 100 percent.
-
Had a bet with 3 of my CFC supporting mates he won't score more than ten league goals. Its like taking candy from a baby, how on earth are people still falling for this fraud?
-
Just saw the Wenger vs Mou spat again and as the 4th official is speaking to Wenger Costa walks past Wenger looks at him and says something in Arsenes direction
-
Need to make the most of easy home wins against Arsenal and enjoy them while we can, Wenger has 3 more years on his contract so we might only have two left.

If Messi and Ronaldo didn't exist or stayed at the level they were around 2006, no one would be saying Hazard isn't playing well enough consistently. If he can get a further level then brilliant, but if he can give us a decade at this current level then that's more than good enough and we will win many trophies because of that.

This was always going to happen when you overhype players to extreme. Last summer you couldn't say a bad word against KDB without getting hounded out of this forum, this summer after the WC it was Schurlle. For some reason every summer a random squad player or new arrival turns into an over hyping machine which brings an enevitable meltdown when he turns out to be not as good as initially hyped during the off season, this summer Andre, last year KDB, year before Bertrand, year before that Romeu, year before that Bruma etc etc. Next year (to replace Cech who won't stay on bench for more than a season) we will probably sign a South American keeper who shines at the Copa America and we will have post after post about how amazing he is and that Courtois might be benched. Schurlle is who he is, he is not Hazard but a decent enough player in the squad who has his role to play, expectations of him after the WC were way way to high.

It was kind off sureal seeing a world class keeper come on as sub, 2 years ago Turnbull would have come on in these circumstances. But like Term said, this is a luxury we won't get for ever so enjoy while you can.
-
Today's victory means Jose will pass the ten year mark off his first game against Arsenal still unbeaten.
-
Ultimately Schurrle is what he is, expectations off him after the world cup were way way to high. We have our world class untouchable at AM in Hazard, the rest are good players who offer different things to the table, which means they will be rotated depending on the opposition and which suits the game plan. We have real good variety behind the forward, there's not one tactic which doesn't suit atleast one of them (not including Hazard, if he's fit he plays it's that simple).

OMG HES SCORED WHY DID WE LET HIM GO WHAT A BAD MISTAKE BY THE CLUB.

Drogba kinds off strongs the point, by the time Lukaku is 26 there is every chance players we haven't yet heard off at his age would have overtook him.The thing is these days at the top level you need to be an all round player, even Juan Mata is struggling due to demands of the top level. Lukaku will always score goals where he goes, but you need to be more than just that at the top top level. Mario Gomez got 70 goals in 97 in the two seasons leading up to him being dropped for Mandzukic. His technique will be an issue, it's easy to say he csn improve, yes he can, but how many players playing at the top level of football now had such issues at 21? If he improves to the level required technically he will deserve all the credit in the world but I just can't see it. A good PL standard footballer in my opinion will be ceiling.

Just because they are brought doesn't mean they have to played, how often did AVB play Lukaku again? Mikel got games as a teenager when he was competing with serial winners, Mou could have easily dumped him in the reserves for a year and fobbed the media off with he's still young and we need all the expierence line. Sinclair was brought on for his Chelsea debut as a 17 year old in a game we needed to win to stay in the title hunt, he didn't play much after under Mou but his hand was kind off forced due to the small matter of Scott breaking his leg and not recovering until after Jose left. Then again with Huth, he got 40 games under Jose in two season's despite being up against the 3 best CBs in England if not Europe, again that's pretty good numbers, especially when you consider Huth wasn't that good. This myth that Jose is some anti youth extremist is built on a mix of an agenda and an embarrassing lack of research, he is no worse than most in this current climate.

No corners although it was unique in another way, I have never seen a team play so bad yet win 6-0, we literally scored with every single chance we created.
-
You havent seen anything yet, wait until Costa has a bad game and Lukaku and Sturridge both score on the same day.
-
When was the last time we lost a home league game where the winner wasn't scored by an ex blue?
-
What was unique about our 6-0 win vs Wigan in 2010?
-
Bojan was the best teenager in the world in 2008, now he plays for Stoke. For all we know, his personal prime could be now.
-
The thing which will in my opinion stop him reaching the highest level is his technique. He will score goals wherever I don't doubt that, however the days of getting away with playing average and having bad play as lot as long as you score for a forward are long gone, Gomez goal record in 11/12 was the best in Europe bar the two super human freaks, yet was dropped for Mandzukic the following summer. I will personally be amazed If he comes back to haunt us (and I don't mean scoring against us, if he stays at Everton for a decade then law of averages suggest he will get one past us at some point, its just the nature of the game, Borini ended our title bid, doesn't mean we should have kept him).
-
I accept the mistake about Owen, I was mainly thinking about his late career. It stands about Bent tho.

Mikel, Varane, Huth, Sinclair and Ballotelli say hi

I feel like I did for United at home last season. Obviously im not taking a win for granted, I never do, but if we play to our game then we surely will. Arsenal are rubbish in big games, the manager is naive, our home game under Rafa should have been over before half time, the one last season was, even the 3-5 we should have been 4 up before RVP scored, AVB fuked up 3 points that were there for us on a gold plate, the two before that under Carlo were won without breaking too much sweat. Arsenal have a ridiculous mental block against us and United especially. I always feel confident for Arsenal at home, last season I put a bet on with my mate and he asked me if I think we will win and I said yeah pretty comfortably, which we did. It's almost always set up perfectly for us against Arsenal, and if Diego's on it and we press them high (they cannot cope under pressure at all) I simply cannot see how we will do anything over than win. On another note if we avoid defeat, then Mou will pass the ten year mark since his first meeting with Arsenal and Wenger and still be undefeated.
-
He has definitely stepped that side up in recent games however the Leicester, Everton and especially Swansea games I had concerns, when Neville analysed him on MNF, the way the Swansea midfield were playing passes round him was almost identical to what players do to Juan. However I am confident he will step that side up, but the Swansea first half especially did nothing to ease my initial fears.
-
This is the one game were we might miss Luiz, he was always on song against Arsenal and his little niggles and elbows in midfield in the 6-0 were a sneaky way of breaking up any play they had.
-
@barbara 3 to 4 nil ill take over 6-3, and im not expecting Cesc to be Ramires or Mikel (defensively) if he can get to half the level Luka Modric (defensively) then I will be the happiest person on earth as that would mean we have undebatably the best CM on earth. I have seen improvements and im feeling a lot better about Matic and Cesc partnership than i did a few weeks ago, im going to leave that particular debate alone however and give a proper opinion at the end of the season.
