  1. City aside, he filled in very capably for over 5 years, we were spoiled with Cudicini in reserve, in reality Hilario level is as good as your get mostly as a back upto, and that level is higher than general opinion suggests.Truthfully im not convinced current Schwarzer is that far above the level Hilario gave us circa 2006-2011 if at all, the Portuguese would have been hung out to dry if he performed like Schwarzer did against Sunderland and Leti in the second leg. Ten years ago Schwarzer would have been perfect for number 2, nowadays I think he would be best at a coaching role combined with number 3, like Freidel at Spurs.
  2. The thing about JT is could he still go for a few years yet? Obviously he isn't as good as his mid twentys but he is showing no real signs of decline yet. Carvalho declined when he hit 30, Lamps slowed down at 32, Malouda at 30, Alex in his last 6 months lost the plot yet Terry at nearly 34 is still playing at a high level and showing no serious signs of decline yet. Obviously we have to be wary and keep a close eye on him, however he could surprise a few by just how long hes still got especially as Mous system will protect him.
  3. Agreed Benatia would have been perfect, however as Chile showed if you have a good system then you can relitevely easily help centre halfs, Chile thrashed Spain with Jara and Medel in their back line. This probably sounds crazy but I could see Mou thinking outside the box and doing something like turning Azpi into a centre half.
  4. I agree to a point, i do believe wr could/should have done better however if one of our player's go on loan and become really really good, they will get a shot, Courtois is the prime example, rightly or wrongly that's the type of level they need to get to , to be first team regular here. KDB is another example to an extent, he jyst got unlucky for a variety of reasons. Bertrand eventually got his spot as a squad player here after impressive loans, he got unlucky due to the fact Mou builds team stability on defence and rarely rotates it (even Filipe is struggling to break past Cesar). If Mou rotated defence like he does AM, i think Ryan would still be here. Player's will be patient on loans purely because our level is what they aspire to, young player's keep coming here despite our underwhelming recent record, they know what there signing up for. You do have a point re Moses, Marin etc it would be good to start using some of them as squad player's (Jack Cork is one of them that can consider himself unlucky, I reckon he would have been perfect as a John O Shea type squad player). Believe me if we won a CL one day with Baker, Chala and RLC there will be no one more delighted and proud than me, but it will take a lot of frustrations, fighting, patience and growing pains (on ours and there's behalf) if we ever get to that point.
  5. He told and underground passenger Rios England career was over, and said Oxlade Chamberlain did well against Pirlo and Ambrosini vs AC Milan and one was injured and the other was let go to Juve the year previous. Not to mention he thinks he deserves recognition on par with Fergie. He definitely isn't the brightest spark in the box.
  6. Between that and throwing a 19 year old in the Lions Den, absolutely. It is another horrific piece of man management by a man out of his depth.
  7. There's a thing called balance. Take Benatia for example at 27, four years time he's 31 and Zouma is 23, almost perfect ages for the gradual switchover to start. What seems to be overlooked is how complicated youth development is, if we had a youth player that could have come into the fold and been as good as Cesc (technically, tactically and mentally) we would have kept the 27m and played him instead. I do believe that A LOT depends on the player himself, fans tend to blame the club when things don't work with young players (I mean seriously, do you believe Conor Clifford is a Southend squad player instead of Chelsea and Ireland captain because we didn't give him that extra bit of care and attention?) take JT for example during his young years we accepted a bid from Huddersfield for him and we brought William Gallas which (seemingly) chucked him down the pecking order but he fought and fought and the rest is history, if Baker, Chalobah etc want to have a career here, they will need to show that sort of fight (and be good enough of course). Chala is another example, he has a PL loan and with it a wonderful chance to make himself a genuine option in this squad, now this Burnley team are woeful, if Nathaniel can't break past some of the dross in there team, how on earth can we justify including him in our squad next season? Youth development works both ways, if we are this evil club not giving player's good enough chances, one of our European rivals would happily show us how stupid we were (ala Pogba from United). Oh remember Miroslav Stoch? a lot of Chelsea fans wanted him to be our new number 1 winger after his loan at Twente, he's been shipped on loan to the Greece league by Fener, guees were have to make do with Eden Hazard, silly board.
  8. He isn't the first player to get a game of due to tiredness, I bet anything it happens A LOT. Unfortunately for Sterling, Roy Hodgson is a clueless muppet who thought it was a good idea to hang the laundry out in public.
  9. Hilario was a better deputy than given credit for, the City game unfairly tarnished what was overall a solid time sd number two.
  10. Youth is youth, just because they cost a lot doesn't mean the manager had to play him, how many times did we see Lukaku under AVB? How many times did Fergie play Zaha?
  11. You do realise two teenagers were played against Bolton don't you? Mikel, Varane, Huth, he brought Sinclair on in a title decider. The pressure at the top level is huge, he is no worse than most in the current climate.
  12. When we changed to Samsung(mobile) it was "they will never be better than Fly Emirates". Same with Fly Emirates when they replaced Auto glass. Same with players, sign Costa "we will never take to him like Didier" when Didier signed "we will never take to him like Hasselbaink" when Hasselbaink signed "we will never take to him like Flo". When Cech signed "he will never be a legend like Cudicini". How about we give change a chance before waving the white flag?
  13. These ones aren't to bad because fifa has just come out. The one's in September are the worst, we finally get a taste of prem football again only for it to be snatched away by internationals almost straight away.
  14. Am I the only one that realises Hodgson is so badly out of his depth? He gets no stick from the media despite being an absolutely rubbish manager at the top level. Only Liverpool fans mainly tend to give him the criticsm he deserves due to having his bolax for 6 months (was hilarious on our side tho). He has no tactical flexibility, he sets up for Estonia like he would Spain, has a serial loser mentality and awful man management (threw Sterling under a bus by publicly stating he requested to rest and apparently ignored medical advice to make Sturridge train and in that session he got injured), plays the worst football I have ever seen, Also he is massively deluded, he thinks his achievements in Scandinavia deserve regonition on par with Ferguson. To be fair, he is a good steady hand for a team like Fulham who have no ambition and are happy to merely get by, but a team with ambitions to improve and evolve, I genuinely can't think of any one worse, he was found out at Liverpool and in England, exactly the same, we will hit new lows with this clown in charge, mark my words. If we bring players like Baker through hopefully Roy is long gone before they are ready for internationals, the thought off any off our young talent in his hands makes me cringe.
  15. Im glad he hasn't chosen Brazil right now. Copa America next summer.
  16. Without Cech we wouldnt have, Munich was the one sided final ever, that victory was remarkable. The player's played their hearts out but we were comprehensively outplayed by a vastly superior team. Cech single handedly prevented a thumping.
  17. To sum him up Lampard could do no wrong, Mikel could do no right and he could barely string a cohesive sentence together.
  18. Im not one to complain because im aware admins and staff work hard and to the best to their ability. However this Papito guy is making the player databases look tacky and like Term said it would put off new members that could join and contribute a lot to this forum. We could miss out on the next Peace because of trolls like this.
  19. For sure, I remember Rupert (the Rafa lover) got discarded pretty promptly, but atleast he made an effort to present himself properly and backed up his opinions most of the time. Papito almost makes me pine for the return of Phil Driver.
  20. Click on where it says hi Supermonkey92 then click on manage ignore prefs and type who you want to ignore down.
  21. Jesus christ Papito is making Bushman look like Peace, on the ignore list he goes.
  22. This Hazard getting judged by goals is so tedious and wrong on so many levels, at this rate by the time we get to 2040 we will be judging keeper's on how many goals they score.
