I would have Ivan, Matic, Diego and even Azpi and Tibo as captain before Cahill is even in my thought process. I like him but he simply isn't captain material.

The "traditional" number 10 is a role slowly dying out in the English game especially. Ozils struggling, Coutinhos struggling, Matas struggling, not really a coincidence. The game in England is getting more fast paced by the season the role of a free number ten who only has to focus on playing killer passes are long gone, just like a striker that looks like a talentless donkey unless he scores is also very quickly becoming a thing of the past. The games evolving to suit all round athletic players, like Oscar.

It was always going to happen next summer at the very latest. We should make the most of having two WC keepers while we can. Hopefully he will hold until the summer and get a great send off in May, hopefully during title celebrations.

IIRC Samuel started 3 games after his injury vs Arsenal, which was annoying as he was coming into his own and winning us points and scoring crucial goals. Also our best form off the season came with Eto'o fully fit and leading the line, which we only got for about 2 months between the Liverpool and Arse games.Personally if we had a fully acclimatised Eto'o from August we would have won the league in my opinion, let alone Costa. I actually wish we still had Samuel as 2nd choice in all honesty.

There's teams that could stop us if we play near our best but Warnocks Palace aren't one of them.

The second break ain't to bad, I tend to but fifa on the weekend of the October break which helps ease the boredom and frustration of the break. The September and November ones are killers tho. Especially September, you finally get prem football back after months without only to have it snatched away again for internationals.

Last year was a bit of a first for Mou, at Porto, Chelsea the first time, Inter and Madrid he had top class well balanced squads equipped to challenge at the top. He returned to Chelsea and the squad were still behind what was needed to challenge and there was no real top class CM and ST avalible, so he had to persevere a bit until those players became avalible.

That word is branded about a bit too much. The only real bit of scapegoating I have seen on this forum lately was by Phil Driver with Mikel and Flash with Eto'o (Torres doesn't count, he deserved every inch of stick that he got), it seems these days criticism leads to accusing of scapegoating.

I would add Matic to that, with those 4 I feel we can win any game, take one out and we are guessing again like last season.I think the depth is good, but those 4 are in a league of their own in this squad. It also shows just how good Mourinho really did getting last season's squad still in the race at January with just one of them 4.

Exactly as MrE said, Pulis is gone now, Warnock is one of those old school managers who likes a size 9 up his players but is pretty shit tactically. Jose has those type of managers for breakfast.
