He tends to start ok but when his teams hit ruts he doesn't have a clue how to halt them, it cost him his job at both Preston and Sheffield Wednesday and WBA are still my tip to go down with Burnley and Palace (Palace for the same reason, the gaffer just isn't very good).

Newcastle nearly got it couple of season's back could easily see Southampton doing as good if not better. They have replaced the departed players (and manager) with significant upgrades, have better squad depth (as showed yesterday when Long came in and scored twice), they upgraded there keeper also and in Koeman they have a manager with a proven track record. There's no reason Southampton can't be the new Spurs and start challenging for top 4 from relitevely nowhere, they have such a solid foundation.

While I don't think it will be easy, I don't fear this anywhere near as much as i did when Clarke or even Mel was in charge.Irvine is a poor manager at Championship level let alone PL.

The under appreciation of Hazard is amazing. If he played anywhere else the same underestimating him would be licking his ass.
-
If he plays like today, Marinbor away and Swansea for every single game this season onwards iy truly doesn't matter if he fails to score for the rest of the season excluding penalties as we will win the league because of it. Outstanding player.

I don't get the constant paranoia re Madrid, if we tie him to a new contract I can't see it being a problem at all. Hazard isn't one of those pre Madonna that have jumped ship to the Bernabeu before, he's quite humble, furthermore his Dad has already made it clear he thinks his son is in the best possible hands under Mourinho so if he asks his family for advice he will almost certainly betold to sstay and with Mourinho we have just the man to tell him being on Madrid's pay roll isn't all its cracked up to be.

Liverpool have been utterly clueless in recent weeks creative wise, and im talking on the level of us in 10/11, especially against Villa, Hull and Newcastle where they created next to nothing in all 3 games. We will be quite fatigued after Wednesday, I mean seriously in what over country would a team have an mid day Saturday kick off after a Wednesday CL game in Eastern Europe? Liverpool lack of creativity and our tiredness will make it a quiet game. 1-0 Costa.

3 times now in recent weeks he turned it on and won us penalties when we were in a sticky situation yet he still doesn't take responsibility apparently, priceless.
-
Its just unbelievable the amount of excuses this guy keeps getting afforded, it's truly unbelievable. Am I missing something here because never have i seen such a player be so shit yet have such a loyal fan base.
-
Drogba has leadership and good in the air, that alone ranks him above Torres. Torres is shit in every single aspect, he's on a seven game goal drought in Italy, would he come in this team and this team and score 3 in a week? We all know he won't. And he won't put effort in, his attitude for 90 percent of his time here was a complete disgrace and from what I have heard it's been even worse for Milan.

Against Leti we had many players out and we were heading to the inform team in Europe, any one who doesn't go defensive in that circumstance is an idiot. This parking the bus bolax is just that, Fergie and LVG hace gone that defensive in games before (see WC semi or title decider at the Ethiad in 2012) yet that never even gets mentioned. EVERY SINGLE MANAGER that isn't an arrogant purist is partial to a defensive game when needs must, the difference between Jose and the rest is he is better at pulling it off.

Simeone would have Spurs challenging for the league and CL let alone Arsenal.
-
Holy shit how good is Varane?
-
I would have rather brought Bosingwa back than kept PVA. He can't defend for shit.
-
Try him at CB, there's not many great CBs around so it might require Mou to think outside the box and do something like this. He's one of the best 1 on 1 (which is Cahill s weakness) got great positioning, the only weakness he has that could work against him for CB is in the air, but many greats weren't the best. Also his not so great attacking play won't be evident for all to see in central.
-
Calculated risks with selection is needed some time, Fergie use to do it in the CL group stage, yes it backfired twice but most of the time they got through and it helped them remain fresh for the business end. Considering the circumstance this is as good a time as any to rest most if not all our key players, it could backfire but that's the percentage risks that sometimes needs to be done.

The grass is always greener for you, if James and Hazard swapped clubs you would instantly change opinion. You probably rate Adebayor higher than Costa purely because of the fact the Togo player isn't wearing a Chelsea shirt.

Are they really? In routine league games ill go as far as saying there as bad as Arsenal. Infact when we went there last season the place was like a morgue and this was one if their biggest games for years, for all this amazing fans are going to blow goals past Schwarzer talk, they were dreadful. People will quote there CL game vs us in 2005, every ground has its moments in CL knockout rounds, even the Emirates. Anfield "atmosphere" is the most hyped up myth in football, 95 percent of the time that place is one of the worst for atmosphere, even that blinkered lot are slowly starting to admit it.

Salah seems content to be a squad player, De Bruyne wasn't.
-
Imagine if Milan have a loan termination option after one season *shudder*
-
Just like he "loved" Ramires and would never drop him?
-
Am I the only one who thinks he could work at centre half?
-
It took a gap year but my god it's back with an almighty bang

Remember when they signed Carroll and ended up finishing below them. Could history repeat itself with Southampton this time?
