  1. Honestly, to me Baba feels a bit like Van Aanholt, better at defending than the Dutchman (it's hard not to be), but to me his alright at times excellent attacking covers some horrible defending. Also he needs to buck up mentally if it's true he was a mess, this was (rightly) let go but Kenedy was actually responsible for CrystalPalaces winner on his debut, but he never let it affect him and carried on, if Baba let that error get in his head so much that Guus had to take him off that really isn't a good sign.
  2. Honestly wouldn't mind Azpi staying at left back providing a quality right back is acquired, he is better going forward from that position than made out, he has been involved in a fair few goal chances since Guus came in.
  3. Marcelo, Alves, Alaba too, also Piszczek was a striker till about 24 Id happily cash in on Baba to see Kenedy and Ake fight it out, in my opinion the desperation for Ivanovic to be dropped has led for him to be seriously overrated and even in some cases trying to pass off even his abysmal displays as good.
  4. 7th if two of the top six contest the FA Cup final. Of we could render itall meaningless and win it ourselves.
  5. I was hoping Arsenal would get something, really want us to catch Liverpool and United, the former is well in our sights but the latter will be difficult now after today.
  6. Has it been scrapped for FA Cup finalist getting a Europa place? Only ask because Villa didn't get in last season. If so that's 5th and 6th guaranteed to qualify through the league.
  7. City winning will keep open an extra Europa spot for us to aim for, so let's hope they hold this.
  8. We have got some gaps but we certainly have the quality for Conte to work with. Centre back, fullback, strong centre midfielder, possibly a couple of depth signings and were away.
  9. I think he's done ok defending so far, defiantly something to build on. All the great attacking fullbacks start further up the pitch and get moved back, I don't see why Kenedy can't be another...
  10. Although we are different quality to Sunderland you only need to look at Dick Advocaat to see the potential danger of deciding to coax Guus out of retirement, even if he says yes. The full time job is a different kettle of fish to a 'save us' interim spell, Advocaat came back last summer, looked unmotivated and disinterested and looked every bit like a man who was persuaded to do something he didn't really want to do, the result? He walked after a failed attempt at full time job. There is a danger that could happen with Hiddink, and he is on the way to another brilliant interim spell, do we really want to taint that with a flop go at the full time job? Also he hasn't enterily convinced me with his team selections and tactics (unlike 2009 when he was a genius in that regard, completely took Rafa to the cleaners and nullified a Barca side sweeping all before them), not really a problem in this interim spell because his main task is to get the feel good factor and momentum back (which he is doing a great job with), but next season that could be a problem when it comes to competing with Pep and possibly Jose (won't include Klopp because that Liverpool team are such a state they won't be in the top four for another two years minimum).
  11. I for one am glad Guus sees that as an option, I really believe he can be a revelation in that position.
  12. He's actually a very decent person off the pitch, gives blood amoungst other things. All the arrogance shit is just football persona.
  13. Five points behind United in freefall if they lose today and three behind Liverpool all be it they have a game in hand, also we are only seven points behind West Ham who are 5th with the Hammers still to come to Stamford Bridge. If it weren't for Leicesters miracle season we would still have a chance for 4th, typical!!!!!
  14. I don't see what the problem is, that's been our way with manager's for years, we have a club assistant who's there regardless of the gaffer (Steve Clarke, Wilkins now Holland) and the manager has spaces for his own staff, like Mou has Rui Faria for example. If all our previous managers can do it Idon't see why Antonio should or will be an exception. .
  15. Most yes, but this season isnt most season's, the league champions this year are likely to be with 75 points possibly less, so if you look at our form under Guus in the context of how mad this season is and how many points will win it, then we are top 4 form and not far off the title form, as the table since the Dutchman took over demonstrates. Also re the last bit, I remember having this debate when we were struggling near relegation and I said then we won't get relegated, in fact I had a bet with a friend that if we get relegatedI'd buy a Spurs shirt and wear it out on the piss every time until we got promoted again, that's how sure I was it wasn't happening. I'd do a bet here just not so extreme, if we finish bottom half I'll let you have control off what my username is until we re secure a top half finish, over 38 games I simply cannot see us being bottom half, yes I know we have played 26 but I'm a big believer in the cream always rising, we are picking up momentum which has led us up four places and I think we will do enough between now and May to get up another 4 at least.
  16. Da fuq? Di Matteo was our manager when Hazard was signed.
  17. If we look at the table since Guus took charge we would be third, with a chance to go second Vs Saints and seven points behind Spurs with them still to come to The Bridge, win that one and we have a chance of being top from Guus coming in till the end. When has a team with this quality ever finished bottom half? Even Dortmund last season eventually got their shit together and got Europa.
  18. No way will we finish bottom half, we will finish atleast 7th were Juve did two seasons before Conte came in. It won't be easy, but unlike the last time we dropped out of the top 4 (to be saved by Munich) we have a quality squad already, the correct additions could have us challenging again (especially if we can keep Costa fit and firing for the whole season). Usually I would agree that's its impossible to go from anything 4th or below to first the following season, in fact I was banging that drum loudly in 2012, but (like Dortmund last season) we will finish low due to an extremely fluke set of circumstances, and with a decent summer I can see us recovering to challenge.
  19. Up till the forum change we were unable to do it on mobile
  20. I like Cesar at left back, and he's been very productive going forward in that position since Guus took over and I think upto and including Arsenal he was involved in a direct chance or goal in every game under the Dutchman. Also having Cesar there helps with the growing trend of left footed right wingers. I hope we can take advantage of the shit Aurier has got himself in, he may be a bit of an idiot but he's a good player.
  21. I honestly think that manager's will get time here, if they show a positive direction of what they are trying to do. Romans itchy trigger finger is quite exaggerated in my opinion, only need to look at AVB and Jose, he held on for as long as he could with both and only pulled the trigger when he little choice.
