  1. I hope youre right but Kurt's game is all about pace and power, this is the worst injury he could have got, he might recover this time like Essien did after the first one, but if it happens for a second time it will likely be curtains for his career as a top player.
  2. They could fuck up like last summer, but they could also pull off a masterstroke summer ala 2014/2012. Our board isn't perfect, but reading these sheer conspiracy theories about how they are plotting to ruin the club is hilarious, its like listening to my 10 year old cousion thinking the whole family hate him when he's told he can't have something.
  3. Thankgod I thought I was going insane for a while. It's worth noting that similar things were being said about Costa before Christmas, post after post after post writing him off, forgetting what he gives at his best, and honestly I think in a lot of cases this is happening with Pedro, although unlike with Diego couple months back, we haven't yet had the benefit of an on form Pedro for a sustained period. I widely mock Arsenal fans for forming their opinions on their players and Wenger on current form or in some cases the last result, but really are some of our fellow fans much better?
  4. Both are dreadful defensively and off the ball, with them in the same lineup the opposition would swamp our midfield and get no end of joy.
  5. Mata and Cesc in the same team would be a disaster unless we have over 80% possession most weeks.
  6. Am I the only one who thinks he actually might? I don't think he would want all this to be his last action for Chelsea, after all how you leave a club affects how strong you're legacy is, he would have been a legend regardless but if Didier left via the back door in 2011 instead of the party bus in 2012 and 2015 would he be on the immortal level he is? Which brings me back to José, I can easily see him wanting to put this right, depending on what our squad is like and what his situation is, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if he returns for two years before he retires/goes to international footy.
  7. If Someone comes in this summer and Costa has injury free season, the goal return will be incredible.
  8. Worth noting if we win tommorow we will have not points than Liverpool since Klopp took over. Apart from the win at City Klopps been pretty shit so far, especially with people banging on about his instant impact an even a title challenge at one point.
  9. I thought this was the besy thread to say this, its said a lot we need a true blue as assistant, well putting it out their as far as proper Chels is concerned you don't get much bigger than Eddie Newton.
  10. Since Hiddink has taken over we have 3 wins and 5 draws in the league (all be it Holland and Newton was in charge for one them), 14 points in 8 games is top four form. There is still a lot off work to be done but the last couple of months has defently been a postive baby step as far as I'm concerned, tonightwas frustrating as hell tho mind.
  11. With Costa, Pato, Remy and Guus apparently liking what he sees in Traore, only an injury to two of these at the same time is likely to see Falcao back on the pitch this season.
  12. Anyone who thinks Pep will fail or be found out in England are in for a very rude awakening. Saying he just takes easy jobs is just clutching at straws, for a start even if he does, his incredible work at Barca has earned him the right to do that for the rest of his career. Also if we are going to use that argument against him, then we could say Fergie stuck to the "easier" environment at United instead of challenging himself elsewhere or abroad in places he wouldn't have total control, in conclusion the "easy" argument is baseless. Only silver lining for us is he will probably only be there three years, but in that time he will probably win two titles, if not all three.
  13. Munich was a great underdog story, but we were underdogs for a reason, sheer determination and the gods got us that victory, any otheelr day we would have lost that final 6-0. That's whyi don't like it when Munich is used as an example as to why players should have stayed/play, the lineup that night will be appreciated forever for that reason, but chances are if we made the lineup in Munich the first choice lllineup the following season out of gratitude, we would have probably finished 8th at best. RDM did amazing work as an interim, but the full time gig was too much for him.
  14. I'd like Simeone but if he is not avalible Sampaoli interests me, from what Ive heard he likes attacking footy but isn't afraid to adapt when need, unlike the Wenger's off this world. I know the last time we appointed a manager with no club European football experience failed, but we can't let that put us off forever, just like we can't let Torres put us off making big money moves. Although Conte also sounds appealing purely because of the fact Juve finished 7th the season before he took over which is likely to be our final position give or take one place.
  15. Possibly, but until that happens there's hope.
  16. Although he needed to go no way has he set us back ten years. The last two an a halfgames have shown this squad has a lot of quality, this summer is vital but a good appointment and a astute transfer window will have us challenging. This isnt like 2012 when we dropped out of the top four only for Munich to save us, back then we needed a over haul and 6th was about right given the squad quality, this season has been the case of a quality squad having an real fluke shitshow of a 5 months, a bit like Dortmund last season.
  17. Pellegrini teams are too defensively naive for my liking, Otamendi and Mangala were hot property for a reason and because of Pellegrinis cluenessness/reluctance with defensive coaching people think they are clowns when they are easily two of the best defenders around.
  18. One thing I have noticed he has improved on considerably is his one touch passing with his back to goal, this time last year giving him the ball in that situation was effectively giving the opposition the ball back.
  19. It's not the fact he's having a goal drought its the fact that while Lukaku was scoring an Costa wasnt Costa was getting constantly slated and this thread was getting invaded with comments basically saying Costa is average and we should have kept Lukaku instead (although tbf the two main culprits are banned now).
  20. He can most certainly build up a defensive profile and if he does sky is limit in that position for me. Pizickek was a forward until he was 24 and he turned out ok at full back. Way Isee it, is on the wing I reckon his ceiling is very good player, but not top bracket, he lacks the close control and decision making to be top bracket in wing, however at left back those two flaws aren't as detrimental and the Palace and Norwich games has lead me to believe he can be really special at left back.
  21. Yeah but squad players all he should be, I can't believe it's only Hiddink out of all the managers he's had here has got the memo.
  22. I didn't want to be too pushy at the time because it was early on in the change and I could imagjne things were hectic, but now things are settled has anyone got an answer for this?
  23. I do hope he goes on to have the best career he can have, but as far as the here and now goes, I can't say I'm unhappy that Costa's return to scoring form has coincided with a dip for Romelu after the crap that was getting spouted pre Christmas when it was the other way round.
  24. I respect what he's done but his teams are far too defensively weak for my liking, it would be like Rodgers at Liverpool, he might get lucky if Hazard has an unreal season like Suarez did for Brendan, but other than that he will be out of his depth.
  25. I quoted this by mistake and don't know how to remove it.
