Are you saying he wasn't fantastic in those above games i mentioned?
-
All season? Bit late for an April fools joke. From his return from injury upto early December he was arguably in the best form of his whole career, he was 10/10 against Atletico twice, Roma and United, was excellent at Anfield alongside games like WBA, Qarabag, Newcastle. December and January he wasn't as good as previous months but still pretty good, since then admittedly for his standards he has been off, but yesterday he still created more chances than the rest of the team put together and if you could find stats for who has created the most chances since February i bet he will be top 5, minimum top 10 despite a little dip.

7 goals in 19 games certainly isn't good enough for someone that's supposed to be amongst the best. For an unselfish winger that's a very good return.

We are only running out of manager's if having a multi trophy track record is the only requirement we are going for, furthermore most of that breed are past it anyway (Jose, Wenger, Carlo). Also the money thing doesn't really wash anymore, if we were 2nd behind City fair enough, but going by the logic of Conte himself we shouldn't in a million years be behind Liverpool and especially not Spurs.
-
The part don't get is, if he is so intent on leaving and it's decided, why is he even doing this? If he left us in the summer with us in a solid top 4 place his stock would arguably be even higher cause of the not so great circumstances. He has proven he can get great performances out of flawed squads, so if he's going, why is he not focusing ALL his energy on going out in a blaze of glory? If he is that desperate to stick two middle fingers up to Roman and the hierarchy, what better way to do so than walking away with a CL medal round his neck? And the hardest thing to take from all of this is we were in a strong position in January, we were comfortably in top 4 and it looked very likely we would finish 2nd (United were flaking and Spurs/Liverpool were at arms length), but Conte had another episode and now we look certain to be playing Thursday nights next season. If Conte left in December i would have been devastated, if he leaves now i'd happily offer to clear his desk myself. Literally feels like we have had two different managers since Conte took over, one was every bit as good as Jose the first time (if not better) and the other's worse than Scolari.
-
I think what swung Lukaku's deal in United's favour was Jose guaranteed him unconditional playtime, something Conte wouldn't.
-
The way he's acting is worse than anything Jose ever did. The one thing you can't take away from Mourinho is that he was committed to the job right up until the moment he was fired, Conte is basically stealing a living at this point.

You can list big games all our previous/current players have been quiet in in the past, even Drogba. Eden still created more chances today than the rest of our team put together, even in the Jose meltdown period when he was supposedly anonymous he was in the top 10 for chances created. He very rarely actually has genuine shite games, even when he's quiet for his standards he is still being productive, as that stat about today shows.

I don't think i have ever seen a set of fans have such a special player and try and downplay them this way, it's really bizzare.
-
I doubt even Turnbull would have conceded the first goal, if i watched the game with no knowledge on the players i would have assumed he was an outfield player in goal after watching that.
-
There were calls for Remy/Bats to get regular minutes even when Costa was on fire. I'd rather a Courtois at 50% than Caballero or Begovic at number 1, likewise Willian/Schurrle.
-
VVD wanted Liverpool, and only Liverpool even City couldn't get him. The money is there, what we are failing on right now is recruitment.
-
We replaced Costa with Morata. If Liverpool start spending lots gross then it's a different talking point, but i highly doubt they would have spent £75m on a CB if they weren't getting the money back it in a sale.
-
It's quite funny that fans moan about lack of ambition yet there's constant cries for average players to be regular starters. Remy, Caballero, Bats, Begovic, Cahill (before he actually became one), Schurrle, Moses (as a winger) last few years of the top of my head.
-
Then he should resign and forefit his £9m.
-
Absolutely embarrassing for the first and third goal and looked a bag or nerves all game.
-
Ronaldo's big game record at United was average (a lot worse than Eden's domestically although did better in Europe) yet it didn't stop Real signing him.
-
No he hasn't. Not at his best ill give, but he's far from "shocking" .
-
Are you just cherry picking games he wasn't great in? You could even do that with pre head injury Cech and you could most certainly do that with ANY current keeper.
-
But if were going to judge Willy by the standards of a number 1, then he could have made 20 saves but that would have been irrelevant as he fucked up for Vardy's goal and gave Mahrez a gift. Courtois fucked up vs Barca i can't defend him there, but ultimately he has a track record Caballero simply hasn't got.
-
Well if we talk about the most recent game, Caballero gifted Mahrez an open goal (which he fortunately missed) and dropped a shot straight to the feet of Jamie Vardy. He causes panic from set pieces and is average in command on his area.
-
And ten years ago it was said Drogba shouldn't have been named in the same breath as JFH let alone Zola etc. Caballero has been alright if we are judging him by the standards of a number 2 but if we are judging by the standards of a number 1 he is miles away, i don't know how anyone can come to the conclusion he's been better than Courtois, it's like the goalkeeping version of when Costa had a few bad games and people started thinking Remy was better.
-
Loyalty works both ways, we can't shit on players who would give their lives for this club like Cahill and Willian then moan when the best players dare consider all their options. And lets be honest here, some might let nostalgia cloud this but he's not even close to saying anything as bad as what Drogba said after Jose left the first time.
-
Not playing week in week out doesn't excuse how bad he was when he did play!
