Decent game we had yesterday, Won by a margin of 2 goals despite being not good. Quite a few players were out of positions. First reaction on Havertz was he is so lost and he will suit more on the center than wide. But then only his first game which is ridiculous. Werner will get us loads of goals or assists once the team settles. Both CBs shows determination and were good if compared with their past performances. Mount & Kante did what they do best. RLC was a disappointment yest. Resse James covered his mistakes with that awesome stirke. And what to mention about Kepa, I'm starting to feel it is no longer a confident issue the goal which went in was a skill issue. Found a couple of things interesting and being done differently from our last competitive game. Lampard deployed long ball tactics, we werent going for the ball till about the 60th min ... we were happy to sit back and let the opposition have the ball (not sure if this was delibrate or not, I feel it was), sat deep for the first trying to soak pressure drawing the opposition and trying for the counter. We could have started with Odoi wide instead of Havertz? ... Mystery which would never be resolved.

Maybe fans associate Mount with Lampard, maybe fans have a soft corner for him as he is from the academy, maybe there are other reasons for this irrational love. But the question is why the extra love only for him ... why not James or Odoi or AC or Tammy. I see the others receive much slack than Mount. Food for thought would be: Maybe he is doing something right than the others. Possible? For me, Mount brings loads of energy in the middle, is always pressing well and is threat in the final third ... u can find him defending in the box and at the same time he will be on par with the striker on the counter. For the system that Lampard is playing with you need your midfielders working the shit out of themselves. Yes there are flaws to his game but with better players around, maybe he can overcome those or hide those. Last year he became a defacto choice for Lampard however this season I feel with competition for places it would be interesting to see if he has the will to fight or have success gone into his head.

Without a doubt!

And that too

That would be a great deal for WH. I feel that they would be relegated this season if they dont strenghen. They have a player who can help in doing so, they can address 2 positions with these 2 players.
-
I hoped that we conclude our goalkeeper a week before our first game so that he hopefully gets to start. But looks like it will be the same defensive setup in terms of players for the first match (Not sure if Thiago starts)

Brilliant move only if he gets game time. Good deal for now.

The fact is that Rice would move out this season or the next or the next ... so no matter how much the West Ham reacts it is inevitable. They need to digest the fact that Rice transfer would mean loads of money coming West Ham's way which can actually be used to build their team ... Or if it is a player + cash deal even better for them.
-
This is going to drag because it is not easy to deal with Napoli and they are now desperate to let KK move out. Feel if City plays this well, they would surely can get a bargin.

Finally done!!! It has been a ride since the first rumor came out of we being after him ... Finally we can say it is a major coup for Chelsea to have possibly 2 stars in the making from Germany playing for us. Welcome Havertz!!!
-
You know what ... It is quite possible. Once the chemistry of the team is set, specially against the lower end teams (no disrespect to them) who would be sitting back will give us scope of hitting quite a few goals

The more I think about the fact that next season we have Ziyech and possibly Havetz start behind the striker , the 2 creators: Ziyech spot on with his crosses while Havetz can pass in between lines ... should Lampard start with Werner and Giroud instead of Pulisic & Werner ... move Werner to the left while Giroud as the striker. Werner gives the mobility in the left flanks while Giroud with his ariael presence & hold up play. Though it would be a crime to not include Pulisic who has being dangerous enough from the left side ... it is going to be an interesting call.

Agree that it is always risky to have it under one manager. However this time around what I like is the profile of players which are getting ... most of the players which we getting are capable of playing mulitple roles/positions and are young which means that even if the current manager is fired the next one coming in can still use the players.

Happy Birthday, mate! May your wishes are granted
-
hahahahahahaha ... How dumb can things be ... So sad that he had no choice but Chelsea. It is going to be a long sad time at Chelsea for Havertz.
-
Had enough of this! No more!!! \ Tired of refreshing this topic every 2 minutes ... very frustation. ... And after 2 minutes ... Refresh
-
For me he is another Kepa ... he has similar attributes. Descion making is an area of concern. I hope that we avoid him.
-
My bad!!! Completely forgot about it.
-
I feel United would finish over Arsenal ... despite missing out Sancho (which is still possible) they still have better and set team over Chelsea & Arsenal.
-
We r getting Havertz for 70 odd mil ... so he is going to start in the midfield no matter what. And why Mount I already provided by opinion however it can be Kovavic/RLC.

What's FFP?

4th Place, a Cup (League or FA), QF of the CL, Solid team chemistry by the end of the season. Met Expectations. Anything over that would be exceed expectation. We'r looking good in terms of signing and plugging in the gaps at this stage, we could actually have more than 50% change in terms of our starting 11 when we take the field on our first game. It will be very important for the players to settle in, understand stratergy and replicate it on the field, develop chemistry. Hence I feel 4th place. However if we're able to achieve this then we are title contendors next season for sure.

Onana much much better ... dont need another Kepa ...

Being hearing this since 2005-06 post we won back to back titles .. and it has been 15 years, still going strong and now a top 10 club. Good to hope I guess.
