I'm a little confused. Bale said Spuds were a better team, yet they were pumped 5-1.
-
Sky Sports, in their post match article, described this incident as a "legal-looking shoulder challenge", which in and of itself sounds like a contradiction in terms.
-
I've been reading some of the stories and reactions to the match. One thing really struck me: Jorge Jesus is a deluded, whiny little cunt. Maybe he should quit and go back to teaching art appreciation at a local high school, a vocation more befitting a man with his haircut and style of dress.

In a nutshell, it just says that Dortmund would be more than happy to extend his contract, but Kagawa has interest in playing in the PL. His main pursuers would be us and Manure. It's fairly equivocal, without much substance.
-
Fair enough. The only reason why I was questioning his abilities in the market was because I was unfamiliar with his dealings at West Brom.
-
I've really noticed that nearly every time Nando touches the ball in the area the commentators say, " Back in his Liverpool days he would have scored," or something of that nature. Christ on a bike, you would think his shots to goals ratio was 1/1 listening to some of these twits.
-
Given the dearth of available quality candidates, I'm really starting to think we should retain Bobby D. I only question what he can do in the transfer market.
-
A fair point. Paolo is the lesser of the two evils I suppose. I forgot Brana is unavailable. Mea culpa.
-
Even Paolo? That selection's kind of a head scratcher for me.

No one is suggesting that we start to break rules and policies, but generally in any system with rules there is a way to exploit said rules without contavening them. Platini does, of course, wield power. However, and I'm sure much to 'ol Michel's chagrin, this power is not absolute. Witnessed by our pursuit and ultimately achievement of a ruling by the court of Arbitration and Sport to strike down the transfer ban. Btw, we only missed out on one January window due to the Kakuta affair. I'm not suggesting that we go back to the old way of doing business, spending money like a lecherous sailor on shore leave in a brothel. We need to become more financially prudent in our player purchases. FFP will be a hinderance, but it does not make our situation, i.e. not making the CL, as bleak as some are portraying it.
-
Not forgetting Citeh at all. However, they cannot, try as they might, purchase every promising player on the market and offer them regular first team football. As far as FFP goes, I think many are underestimating our owner, who supported this measure. RA is a man that has built a personal fortune in excess of £13b out of a few thousand roubles in the fierce economic environment of post-communist Russia. I doubt he will let an effete Frenchman and his crew of flunkies stand in the way of his designs.
-
Cash. We still pay good wages, better ones than many other clubs. London itself is a draw as well. Finally, if we don't make the CL, which is likely at the moment, it's not as if we are going to be completely out of the running for that competition for the forseeable future. I'll grant you that we will lose some of our appeal to perspective transfer targets, but it is not going to go away entirely.
-
I've resigned to the distinct possibility that we won't finish 4th. While this is, of course, a bad thing for the club, it is not catastrophic in any way, shape, or form. I think it is far more damaging to the egos and sense of entitlement of some of the fans than the club and its future prospects of success.
-
I was more upset by how we lost than the actual loss itself. Got a scruffy goal and thought we would at least get something out of this. I would say Citeh were the better team on the day, but that's not saying much. It was a very winnable game. One area of deficiency that stuck out to me, was our inability to keep possession. We gave the ball away cheaply far too many times.
-
I don't give a toss if someone wishes him well, prays for him, etc. I just want this young man to pull through this terrible situation and get back to being a healthy 23 year old.
-
Absolutely loved Drogs, toward the end of extra time, imploring the crowd and his teammates to maintain their intensity. An absolute legend.
-
This is my main concern. When the honeymoon is over and father time once again starts to rear his ugly head around our most vital senior players, what will the way forward be, and who is the one to lead us? I'm all for enjoying the moment, but I'm not so myopic as to think that our problems have been solved now that AVB is gone and we've gotten some good-fantastic (yesterday being fantastic) results.

A bunch of different download links here:

Or Manure. "They never give up, blah, blah, blah." But this is our night and they (the media) can't take away the spirit and ability our lads showed against a quality Serie A side in the face of overwhelming odds.
-
I want the appointment of a new manager to be sorted as soon as we can. I don't want us to lose time and potential players in the transfer window waiting for a new manager or waiting for the new manager to "assess" the squad. The summer window is critical this year. We have glaring deficiencies that must be addressed if we wish to resume our status as a top club.
-
Not exactly a top notch performance, but we did the business and got a bit of rest for some of our key players. Some of the oft-maligned players actually did pretty well (Mikel and Lamps). Kalou was actually decent, ish. Two final thoughts: Stoke are one of the worst teams to watch, and ShawX is a walking yellow card.
-
Borini puts Roma ahead inside 4 minutes. He's scored in 4 straight matches now.
-
I don't think it would be the language barrier that would prevent him from coming.
-
That deal is one of the most blatant, transparent acts of fraud I've seen in a while.
-
I gave you a rep more because of this statement. I could not agree more.
