Piazon will start at striker if Sturridge is still injured imo.

I think Mata is our best player. Hasn't been on top form this season but imo he is our best player. Not to say that there aren't others in the conversation or may even end up better than him by the end of the season. But atm imo it's Mata. Hazard and Oscar can both go ahead of him by the end of the season but 2-3 games isn't enough to displace Mata.

Sturridge plays more like a false nine than a striker. Nothing wrong with that, but guys like Mata and Hazard will have to make a larger effort to get in the box.

Lukaku's plays like Torres more than he does like Drogba.

Southampton have only themselves to blame. Just like against City their shocking defense let em down. Say what you want about Southampton deserving something from this game, I don't buy it, sure they play good in patches but when you make errors that bad you deserve to get punished, that's the difference between the championship and the PL.

Please don't sell him. Get him a contract extension asap!! He's young and has world class ability. Sure he hasn't reached that stage yet and has some flaws right now, but his talent can't be doubted. I think his link up play has improved vastly already based on his little cameos. He should thrive in our new counter attacking higher tempo style. Must give him a proper chance before we throw away such a talent.

He should go on vacation after the super cup (Aug 31), miss the QPR match and return on the bench for Stoke (Sep 22) and back to beasting for Arsenal (Sep 29).

He's still playing very good. Nothing to be worried about. The reason for no stats is just that he isn't the furthest forward midfielder anymore with Hazard here. He's dropping deep to connect the pivot to the attack. It allows us to better maintain possession while his personal stats suffer. Nothing to worry about.

Those are the kind of goals that give a striker more confidence than anything. I think so far in his Chelsea career this is the goal/moment that will give Torres the most confidence. Because that was a very very tough goal to score and if that goes in for you, you start thinking of bicycle kicks like tap-ins.
