His passing and ball retention is not that good. He excelled when he played right behind the striker where he could play to his strengths which is his dribbling and shooting. Now on the wing he needs to do a lot more before he can take a shot, hence he's been rendered virtually useless. Wenger should just cut ties with Ozil, and play Sanchez in the middle.

Pogba seems like the typical Real Madrid signing imo. They sign one superstar every summer and I don't see how it could be anyone other than Pogba this summer.
-
I would suck dicks for Koke. I like him more than Pogba, always did. Cocks for Koke!!! Matic Koke - Cesc Midfield 3....omg Omg Omg!

The biggest thing we need to change is simple - fuck asking your number 10 to be a defensive workhorse. Play Hazard in the middle in a free role and watch him wreak fucking havoc!! He goes by two players on the wings and the best he can do is pass it back to the top of the box or turn around. Let him play in the middle and get him to run right through the middle. He'd have Cesc right behind him to link up and Costa ahead of him working hard to run all over the place and pull the back line apart. Doesn't even matter who you have on the wings in that case. Hazard plays way too far from the goal. In the beginning of the season I didn't say much because Oscar was doing relatively well and Cesc and Costa were firing but the longer the season goes it's becoming clear that there isn't anyone on the team even close to Eden, so just give him the Messi treatment and use him as best as we can. ..and then to spend money. Get a CB who can defend 1 on 1. People want to get rid of Cahill but I'd want a Terry replacement first. Cahill has been poor this season but the whole defensive philosophy forced upon us due to Terry is what hurts us more.

It was the opposite last season, yet it's this season we are more likely to win the title.

Chalobah doesn't do enough defensively to warrant a deep midfield role imo. He's got good technical ability and decent size but workrate is lacking imo. If you aren't going to be a deep midfielder who can also break up attacks and defend, then you need to be a CM who can make forward runs and score and assist. He does neither at a high level imo. It's good to see him doing well at Reading but something is off about him.

I don't know why people are complaining about the performance so much. I could understand if the entire 90mins was like the first 45mins but the second 45 was fantastic! Hazard was beasting and Cesc looked much better too. We were dominating them in the 2nd and were very unlucky not to score the winning goal. The confidence was definitely down, you could see it. But that 2nd half turnaround was very impressive considering how poor the first half was. 2nd half was probably the best 45 mins we've played in a long long time. Hopefully, it wasn't just a flash in the pan but rather a beginning of a turnaround of form. Also, Southampton was a very annoying team (very determined defensive unit). Even the reverse fixture we absolutely battered them but couldn't make it count. As a side note - I know JT has been great, but we need better CBs, we need CBs who don't shit their pants if they are forced to defend 1 on 1. Maybe even try Zouma - Ivanovic for a few games.

Mata had even better stats when playing in the PL for us. Look where he is now. Not saying the same is going to happen with KDB. But he's gone now, wish him luck and support current Chelsea players.

Jose values trust over everything. And he just can't trust a youth player. The dude would have to be absolute world class for Jose to give him a chance. Don't think this is a choice either, that's just Jose's mindset. Don't expect it to change anytime soon. Just hope we end up playing a few dead rubber matches where these youngsters are able to play and earn Jose's trust.

Is he really HG? I read a while back that he left United a few months earlier than required to obtain HG status.

Ramires looked like the most dangerous RW we have. But really, we made it way harder on ourselves, should have scored 2 at least in the first half and wrapped it up. Just glad it didn't cost us. Courtois was amazing and Cahill looks back on form. Thanks alot to Zouma for playing for the team in the midfield but him being there definitely made a huge difference. Guys were looking twice before passing because they didn't want to pass it to Zouma. Anyways, good results at the end of the day, can't wait for Matic to get back.
-
I thought Matic controlled himself brilliantly tbh. All he did was just push the dude. There is no way I would have been able to restrain myself if I was on the end of a tackle like that. I would have definitely kicked the motherfucker too after he was on the ground. Barnes is a coward of the highest degree imo. From the get go, he was intent on injuring someone and the referee let him.

Actually that cameraman got fired. It was an easy save.
-
The article profiling every single staff member and throwing wild accusations and calling into question their character is crossing the line imo. That kind of stuff should not be published.
-
Well we beat City home and away last season. Will Nasri give us his PL medal from last season then?
-
We need to find another Zouma to replace Terry too. But a Zouma who is a monster on the ball too.
-
No way he gets banned for that. It's nothing at all.
-
I was at work during the match. Decided to turn off phone and wait it out and watch it when I get home. God, you don't know how much will power it took for me to not check the score. Got home, watched it, loved it. Great Fucking day! About the game, a lot of great performances. Great defending display by Everton too. Willian, loving the dude right now. Although you can see the good and bad with him. Oscar always gets into the box from that #10 position while Willian never does and instead always goes towards the ball. That said, great performance on the whole.
-
Well I'm talking about comparing his pass percentages to others in his position (#10s, attacking midfielders). Guys like Mata, Eden, Silva, Isco, James. I haven't looked em up, but I'm confident none of em have a pass percentage below 80-85. We know they all are creative and try risky passes just like KDB, so it's a fine to compare pass percentages in this context.
-
Azpi doesn't really make any mistakes. On form, I'd say from a strictly defensive point of view, he's the best defensive fullback in the world. He had some trouble in the City game, and one more here and there. But overall, dude is a defensive monster.
-
If I could pick any #10 for Chelsea it wouldn't be Oscar. However, the obvious choices don't really fit us and what Jose seems to want from his #10. In that sense, i'd say we have Willian who can press like Oscar but is one best attackers on a technical level. Just use him. Who else is there really? Who can work as hard as Oscar defensively and out produce him offensively? Sanchez, Koke, Reus, Isco. Anyone else? Not a lot of options really that are clear upgrades.
-
Hahaha, enjoyed that!

The point is that at the top teams 74% will not cut it. It's fine for Wolfsburg but that's not good enough at a European elite. I bet you other than strikers and goalkeepers you won't find a single player with 74% pass completion at any of the top teams in Europe (other than Athletico possibly and Dortmund in previous years). You're right, the types of passes he tries are very high risk but there should be a better balance. It's fine at Wolfsburg since he's their only outlet but with better players around him that won't cut it. Similarly, a guy like Schurrle will fit at Wolfsburg because he'll get you the goals but outside of that we know his passing is nothing special, his dribbling and ball control skills aren't up to par either. He needed the goals AND those other attributes if he ever wanted to regularly start at a top team. While at Wolfsburg, they'll be happy with goals.

Just saw, both our avatars are very similar. Except yours is more badass.

Cuadrado deal doesn't seem too bad now. Reus won't go for anything less than 40-50M now.
