I think Lampard shouldn't be an egotistical prick like Carragher was and quit England for some stupid reason. It should be a privilege to play for your country and I think that's half the problem with the England team, most of the team think they deserve to be there... Lampard probably included.
Well the issue with Barton is it wasn't during a game I guess, few people actually saw it. Barton did get off lightly, but spitting, whilst bad, is only spitting, I don't get why it riles people up SO much. Bannable yes, but not for a year.
Spitting is bad.
But
It's not as bad as taking cocaine
It's not as bad as beating your team mate to a pulp in a training ground bust up
It's not as bad as stubbing someone's eye out with a cigar
And yet all these things got a lesser sentence than 12 whole months.
He deserves a ban of some magnitude, but not 12 months. 6 months maximum, and I think even that is excessive. It's an extremely harsh and unfair decision.
That's fucking ridiculous. And considering the fact that it was a non-FIFA affiliated competition too, they shouldn't even be able to make that ruling!
So basically you prefer that an establishment is kept established, than a new one is brought to the fore. I think that's an interesting story myself, if it's done right.
Yeah I guess it is about time. Thought I'd leave it open as the backlash would have been a talking point but that period is over now.
Robinho signed for Manchester City instead, thread closed.
On that post I can agree with you to an extent. Eventually, in theory, those clubs would eventually reach the heights we did, given continual backing. Gretna were doing it until their owner fell ill and they realised they didn't have the population behind them to manage it. But Manchester certainly does.
I expect Manchester City to do big things under the Arabs, but it will take longer than we achieved it for the reason's you've stated.
