Yeah, we're missing him. Anelka could not handle the physical presence of Woodgate and King alone, Drogba may have had more luck.

I think it's a first class domestic competition that we should be extremely interested in winning. Pompey away is a tough first draw but we're good enough to go through. In the end, the only reason to enter this competition as a big club is to win it so we'll have to beat whoever is put in front of us no matter if it is Portsmouth or Hartlepool.

Impressive performance today, we rolled Pompey over in the first half, then sat back and waited for openings to grab a few more. Deco deserved the MOTM award, but you can also tell he was nowhere near his best. Many of his passes just didn't come off, and if he got even half of them on the money, it could have been 7. Hopefully that wasn't just a one off and we can reproduce it. I loved our midfield before Ballack went off, Ballack, Lampard, Deco and J. Cole all seemed to just move around wherever they felt like and Pompey didn't know how to deal with it.

Why the heck are Anelka and Malouda in that poll? Neither of them were particularly good. Should be Lampard/Ballack/Mikel/J. Cole ahead of them.
