I think it all has to do with media coverage. Just look at the new deal PL signed some time ago and how much money is thrown into transfers. Premier League has become such a brand, ManU helps that, and atm praising Matic raises PL popularity. It pisses me of also. Nobody praised Matic that much when he was playing with us. I watched his higlights against West Ham, it was his typical average game like he was playing for us. Nowhere near defensive behemoth he was when we resigned him few seasons ago.

Am I the only not who is completely shocked that no one outside Chelsea found that a idiot refere at the home turf of Champions gives a red card in 16th minute to the club captain for a average tackle? During the game I thought all newspapers and pundits would be shocked after the game, but no, they barely mention it. Damn, we are in for quite a ride this season regarding refs and pundits.

I understand what you mean, but it's not like Antonio is going to be leading negotiation with clubs and agents, offering money left and right, deciding on contract clauses etc. I don't think any manager does that. For me, he should be in contact with the people from the club who are working on transfers, telling him which players he likes, doesn't like or doesn't care for them to sign. They go out into the warzone and try to get a good deal as possible. That way should work, no? Just because Antonio likes Candreva, doesn't mean the club will spend 30+ millions to bring him if Inter refuses to sell. Slowness with which we work in transfer market for me has nothing to do with our coach's transfer power really. Maybe they are slow because they are really trying hard to sign Conte's targets? We can't argue at that as we don't know his targets, but actually that could very well be possible.

I am amazed how much pressure from media has been put to Antonio, crazy. Hopefully he will have a good season and things will be stable for a few years, I am sick of all the drama we had in the last couple of years.

Definitely a must sign for us. His age, talent, speed, tehnique and versatility will be an amazing addition to our squad. Really hoping deal goes through. Let's go to work! I can also understand that he isn't rocking the leage atm in Arsenal, he seems to have lost motivation to play for them, he could potentially explode here.
-
This goes further back mate, remember season 2010/2011 after winning double in 2009/2010? Look at our signings then. We finished 2nd which masks away how dangerous that season has been for us. I still remember bloody Sunderland killing us at home 3:0.
-
Aye, that's what I meant with his pace mate, Torres style of explosion to score. I didn't say we always had slow strikers, but I don't remember either one of our strikers for quite some times exploding like that. Great quality to have in Morata, it will be really good for counter attacks and important CL games.
-
I would only agree on Sturridge. Other players you mentioned didn't really impress me with their pace. Sure they are not slow, but nothing amazing. I don't count Jimmy because I didn't watch him a lot. Morata will do well, just you see
-
For 20-35m definitelly a good signing to have. Do note that we lack creative players in our team. I hope we sign both Ross and Drinkwater.
-
Haha you WILL see that, no other options
-
Agree about the tackles. I think he would do really well in a midfield in which he would be protected by Bakayoko and Kante, a diamond of Bakayoko, Fabregas, Kante and Hazard could work nice maybe?
-
Not the type of player our team needs, can't help in the build up for the love of god. Still a good option to have on the bench this season to help in difficult games when we have to attack. I respect Conte though, Michy deserved to start in the last two games considering his work in the pre season and he god his chance.
-
I agree, but I must say I expected much more from him since we brought him in. He is so inefficient with goals and assists and takes ages with the ball. Sad to see so much talent and speed in a player, but no reach the heights he could have.
-
Glad at least he will get his chance now. Grab it and shine boy!
-
Well done lad. Amazing how fast he is, when Willian made the cross, he just appeared out of somewhere and smacked it in. Really happy to have such a pacy forward, we lacked that since...mm...did we ever have a pacy forward?
-
Pff...if I was to believe media, the amount of time we spent considering to buy Van Dijk, we could've developed a clone from his genes, made him grow faster and surpas his original...I am perfectly satisfied with Zouma and Christensen now, dump that money on a midfielder and winger.
-
Ha how many of you would be happy now if we had Drinkwater in the squad against Tottenham? Buy him already cfc!
-
Really awful in 2 man midfield. Honestly I was very suprised how good he played with Matic in 2 man midfield when we won the title under Jose. This is not the first time he makes an awful awful tackle, in happend a couple of times in the past also, lots of those tackles referes didn't want to punish with the red. Can't really attack him now though, with 1 player less for most of the game, your stamina is gone near the end of the game, and silly mistakes can happen. Still glad to have him in the team.
-
Send Roman in attack, easy win. I really do hope we bring Drinkwater asap. He could slot in right away into team considering he played a full season with Kante before. Next player to get a red in august will not be given his salary
-
You have seen nothing my friend! Next game against Tottenham will be fun, no Cahill, no Pedro, no Hazard, no Cesc We have 1 midfielder available Oh, btw Champions of England need reinforcements in the IT team also Maybe they were counting our red cards instead of goals so they lost the count.
-
Football has really gone to shit. Millions and millions of pounds for players, yet referes who can't make a difference between a red card and a falling accidental tackle. Makes me so sad as I can remember the times when people like Zidane, Henry, Ronaldo, Carlos, Lampard, J.Cole, Ronaldinho, Pirlo, Totti played this wonderful game. At least Morata did great so I don't have to watch Batshuayi imitate a wall from which the ball bounces away...
-
I just checked twitter, couldn't find that tweet?
-
It's because they are thinking about accepting our offer!
-
Those buggers will never sell to us. Especially at this moment considering Conte threw a jibe at them and they still haven't signed anyone.

His surname reminds me of the cancel button every time I read about him #programmerprofessionaldeformity
