  1. Forget about meaningless trophy shenanigans, we need to win this, and we need to kick their sorry arses. Show everyone that we are the champions, and that Arsenal aren't good enough to challenge this year.
  2. I don't think the club bas done bad in this transfer window, though obviously they haven't done amazing. From the way people seem to react, I would think the club hasn't brought a single player... Check this page. We actually have a balance of around -15m for this transfer window, while we still haven't sold Costa. To replace 29y Matic with 22y old Bakayoko for around the same money is a good deal for me if player turn out well for us. To get Morata at 24y old for 55.25m is also a good deal considering his experience, versatility and age. Caballero isn't as good as Begovic, but you don't really expect to keep a GK of such a quality sitting on a bench for more then a season or two? I woudn't say our rivals have a much better backup GK anyway? As for the full backs, I wouldn't blame the club so much. From what I've understood, we tried signing Walker and Danilo, but players chosen to work with Guardiola. We also seem to be pushing really hard to sign Alex Sandro, but obviously Juve won't sell. If club is ready to offer 50+ million for a fullback, I can't be really angry with them. I already commented on Drinkwater transfer, but with Terry gone, we need to increase homegrown quota, we need to increase midfield depth (which is currently 3 players for 2 positions), so to get an experienced homegrown good all around midfielder, for me is a good work.
  3. I agree, but I also think everyone around Chelsea knows this. He will still end up on wing until our club realizes that we need more then 3 wingers for the upcoming season...
  4. Now I do agree that board should not meddle in manager affairs and I don't like someone else buying players for the squad without the manager, but I also must defend the club and say that it is quite risky to give full transfer control to a manager who has been with the club for only 1 year, don't you think? Most of people mention Sir Alex for the transfer control, but he has spent quite a bit of time at United to be able to earn such a right. Wenger also has full transfer controll, look where it brought Arsenal in last 10 years?
  5. Considering that we got owned like bitches for every danm fullback in the market, now I hope we sign Van Dijk and have the following: LB: Alonso RB: Moses, Azpi CB: Cahill, Luiz, Rudiger, Van Dijk, Christensen That's 8 players for 5 active positions in our lineup. Not bad.
  6. For me Matic is better, but to be honest, ever since this tackle he seemed scared and weak for me, so to get 40m for 29y old player for me is good if we replace him properly. I can't say what happened, but with us signing Bakayoko it's expected to have Matic want to leave. For me it seems he wasn't happy that much considering how he was really fast to stab us through the media with "my teammates are amazing" comment. I also follow Matic in national team, and there he has been quite average also. You can also see from Conte's comments that he wasn't keen for Matic to leave. What's important is that he left, and now we have to look in the future. Future says we have 3 midfielders at the moment and our formation requires 2. Cesc has a history with injuries (luckily not with us) and Bakayoko is recovering from injury. If one gets injured, we go through the season with only 2 midfielders in 4 competitions. I hope we sign Drinkwater, otherwise I'm gonna need to Drinkrakia to calm down.
  7. I would prefer splashing the cash for a fullback then a centre back. We can survive at CB with Cahill, Luiz, Azpi, Rudiger and Christensen, but we can barely survive with 2 fullbacks (ok 3 if you count Azpi).
  8. I don't get the negativity with Drinkwater? I know you would prefer people like Vidal and Naingollan but it's simply not happening, they don't want to come here, and we need more squad depth. For me Drinkwater is a good squad signing, he's also English and homegrown, and a pretty decent all around midfielder. For a reasonable price, I'd be quite happy to improve our squad depth in midfield. Before you hit me that we sold Chalobah and sent RLC on loan, I would defend the club a bit now because the season we have ahead of us is very important, our rivals have improved their squads and can't risk having a bad season now more then ever. If we lose our CL again, Hazard could very well leave, and that will be very problematic for the future. We can buy back Chalobah if he turns out amazing, and RLC needs regular playing time anyway.
  9. When asked about Kenedy in the press conference (does he have a future, will he be in the squad etc), Conte only responded that he believes a loan is important for him in order to play regularly.
  10. I hate comments like that, not respectful really. Okay he maybe is angry with the club, but keep it away from public...
  11. N’Golo Kante meets Chelsea and Arsenal target Riyad Mahrez for dinner amid transfer speculation Read more: http://metro.co.uk/2017/08/03/ngolo-kante-meets-chelsea-and-arsenal-target-riyad-mahrez-for-dinner-amid-transfer-speculation-6825940/#ixzz4ohXXzPfN What do you think about him? I would be very happy if we brought him, we need depth on the wings and he is a very good player who had a bad season which could lower his price. For 30m I would bite Leicester hand of.
  12. From what I know of him in terms of football, he would be a good signing, but I worry about his attitude.
  13. Wow...so sad to see this, to leave Barcelona for PSG for so much money but maybe we can exploit the situation and get someone from PSG.
  14. Young, homegrown, fast, can pass, can cross, can shoot, can dribble. Go go go! Always liked the lad honestly. We need depth on the wings really a lot.
  15. To hell with that, just follow Bayern strategy, get top players on a 2 year loan deal
  16. I won't object if we sign him, we need depth for midfield, he is homegrown and good all around.
  17. We at least he doesn't sell key players to rival clubs
  18. I always liked watching Barkley when we played Everton, nice player. We're not really a place for him, but I won't object if we sign him. I just hope it's not a monstrous fee.
  19. I would understand if those were the likes of Lahm, Alves, Roberto Carlos, Ashley Cole and others in their prime...but players who had a couple of good seasons to go for such amounts of money...shocking
  20. Really happy we signed him! Everyone at the club will be more relaxed and optimistic now. I also believe he will work great with Cesc and could break into being Spain's n1 striker. Good luck lad!
  21. Well when you look at it, except Morata, Lukaku and Belotti, no young strikers are there for clubs to get except maybe Mbappe, it's natural the price is gonna be high. It's sad for me to see so little strikers now. When you remember around 10 years ago the names like Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Ibra, Tevez, Rooney, Drogba, Crespo, Falcao, Cavanni, Villa, Eto'o, Forlan, Henry, Torres...
  22. For how much we lost Danilo Now we will sign some average centre back and force the poor lad to play right back...
  23. I find it very strange that since rumors emerged about Alex Sandro, not a lot of people mention this crazy 60m fee that is thrown around. Too much!
  24. While I am not a fan of Benteke that much, it's risky to go into a season with 4 competitions with only 1 (potentially 2 if we buy someone) recognized strikers. Benteke or LLorente as plan C would be alright I feel.
